Angel Olsen - Go Home
For those wondering on the track used so so so very effectively here.
Thanks!
Thank you!!
Thanks. Somber, but quite beautiful.
As a sufferer with mental health issues I saw a film that reflected my experiences, from loneliness and feeling invisible, used by people who used power , rejected and the scene where they break up and she crumbled on the floor I’ve done many times being pushed away because you don’t fit ,friends who make you feel special then push you away , I wish I could tell Olivia how much her portrayal is amazing and saved my life
I agree. It made me cry. I also had a deep love for her character which was kind of healing and beautiful.
“You can’t just give up!” A lovely * sensitive film about hope + over coming the horrors of PTSDs due to abuse.
Afresh, afresh, afresh indeed!
We love you Olivia! (Which I hollered after watching her film the steps scene with the lovely Toby ❤)
For those searching for the name of the song used in the trailer, it's "Go Home" by Angel Olsen.
Thank you!
Such a haunting song!
Muito obrigado
You da real MVP
Cheers!
An absolutely beautiful film on so many levels. It made me laugh, cry and feel a full spectrum of emotions in between! It took me on a journey back in time to the 80s and left me feeling nostalgic and uplifted. Sam Mendes is an incredible filmmaker!
Ignore the critics bashing this... True cinema in all its rawness.
Ignore the film critics, go and see this wonderful film! It’s about LIFE and the many relationships it involves, going up and down depending on whether we feel in love and loved, sex, race, family and much more… Anyone wondering about the age gap (love story btw Olivia Coleman’s and Micheal Ward’s characters) - you wouldn’t be asking if you were a young man who had a formative relationship with an older woman. Same with the racism theme - Steven explains it in very basic terms to Hilary precisely because she is blind to it, it doesn’t affect her. So many other themes beautifully explored!.. And yes, the way the film looks, sounds, the actors’ work - it’s very obviously a labour of love. Mendes devoted it to his mother but every viewer will be moved. You may well cry but, ultimately, it’s uplifting.
The reviews have not been great for this film, but they all say that Olivia Colman is playing at the top of her game. And there are no surprises there… She’s in the class with Meryl, Viola, and Cate…
Was average I watched screener
Not all. Some say she wasn’t at all.
Oscar just snubbed Olivia & viola....this is truly rubbish 😑😑
But not in the class of Emma
She is absolutely amazing
If anyone is looking for the song’s name, it’s ‚Go Home’ by magnificent Angel Olsen
Cheers buddy. Great song choice. And the soundtrack is by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross! Awesome
....was sobbing like a small kid... a Masterpiece of a movie!
At this point, I watch any movie that has Olivia Colman as part of the cast. Even if her part is five minutes.
Olivia Coleman and Colin Firth are legends.
After Colin Firth's ignorant comments about Woody Allen, he's dropped right off my list. Permanently.
@@jochenstossberg5427
@@jochenstossberg5427 no me too if one is a Jwe?
I am a photographer. No wonder it is nominated for cinematography. Stunning visuals....
I just love Olivia Colman so much
just got round to watching this after being involved in the production{ i was on set security} such a delight of a movie. stellar performance by all cast.
Finally a good trailer I could watch all the way through without getting a story completely spoiled for me which honestly is a rarity as I'm sure alot of other people have come to notice recently.
Looks like such a great film, I hope Coleman wins an award for this one, or at the very least a nomination. Visually stunning feature also. 😍😍
Well, you should be aware from the trailer things don't go well... obviously horrible as a matter of fact.
Why are you saying all of these things before seeing the film? Why would you hope she wins an award if you haven’t even watched it yet and how can you say it’s visually stunning without watching it? Serious questions.
I do
Agree with you about trailers. I try to not watch trailers for big movies coming out.
Yeah, it’s “so good” that I have absolutely no idea what it’s about 😕
@@AnonYmous-wd8qd Hopefully there will be a 3 and a half minute trailer that highlights the main plot points. 😊
Watched this today. A wonderful story of so many relationships, really makes you think about life. Olivia is just amazing 🤩
Life is a State of Mind.
@@neilmcintosh5150 yes, mostly. It’s hard not to sink when you lose your loved ones. But overall, I agree ....
Olivia Colman is currently my FAVOURITE ACTRESS, really talented lady she is
Absolutely brilliant film im in my 50s and grew up during the 80s being then in my early teens so i fully understand the vibe of this film and can relate to that 80s style very well. The filming has indeed captured the 80s so well. This is how films should be good plot and meaningful i am so fed up the movies being churned out these days it was very refreshing to see something like this which i thought was a thing of the past now such amazing photography and filming style and top class acting from all.
It’s seems like a lifetime ago that she was in TV & film comedies. Dr Who! She’s a really fine dramatic actor. ⭐️
..She has come a long way since playing Sophie ~ what an actress she is!
Michael Ward is a wonderful actor . I would love to see him in American films too. This guy is the one to look out for . Just watch !!
Love everything Olivia Coleman. Such a joy to watch.
I’m already crying. God, I miss seeing films like this in the theatre ❤
I'm probably going to watch it again.
what performance by Olivia isn't a 'career-best' ? But I'm always here for Olivia in melt-down mode, and the cinematography/sets look amazing.
Olivia is a brilliant actress. She's just one of the best. I hope she continues to be blessed with excellent and meaningful screenplays.

Take This, Cellar Door & Susan T as a premature grain of salt; but (i) Just Had Opportunity to See this circa an (couple) hour(s) ago.
Its (Easily) One of the BEST Films (I've Scene) This Year. (Imho it's) Mendes' BEST, to date. And (imho) its - Simeoultaneously (I Suppose) a Two-Way Tie for BEST Beautiful, Gorgeous Performance from Madam Olivia. Not sure if it's Intentional,. But there's even a (brief) Genuflect in the direction of Paul Thomas Andersons Exquisite, if not Transcendental - the Master. 👏👏🎨👏
- The Other BedFellow being, ironically enough - this years JoyRide (Magnolia).

Agree. Absolutely AMAZING and One of Last Years BEST.

Sam Mendes is one of the best filmmakers alive today. I saw “American Beauty” as a child & “Road To Perdition” as a teenager. I’ll always see a films made by him &, as always, he has an inspired cast at this disposal.
He also collaborates often with one of the best film composers of all time: Thomas Newman.
❤
I ♥ Olivia Colman. So much talent for one person.
I saw a preview last night and loved this. Stunning photography, beautiful art decoration, great soundtrack and the performances… simply outstanding. A couple critics at the three film festivals it screened at missed the point. The story follows the people at a subtle but pivotal time in England’s history (1981). I applauded when it ended. Hopefully you will too.
Toby Jones isn't dead
Was it a woke lecture though?
@@simonstones1918 hopefully
I've watched this movie and I can say Olivia Colman gave justice to this. Such an amazing performance here. I'm sad she got snubbed in Oscars for this role as best performance in a leading actress.
Olivia is just awesome!! She's a really great, great actress and nice person
Saw this last night. A beautiful, brilliant movie with great original music by Trent Rezner and featuring classic songs by the Specials, The Beat etc.. well worth seeing! Highly recommended
I loved it too and I live 20 mins away from dreamland so was extra special seeing Margate shots
@@katcampbell9213 can you please tell me if the park (with the astonishing trees) is in Margate..I can't find anything about where it is in the location credits. I literally gasped seeing those trees in that scene! 😊

Stunning and brave... rinse... repeat... welcome to 2022
Olivia Colman is a special, amazing talent, a goddess. She is always perfect and stunning. You can't look at anything but her face.
It's only the trailer and I already know this film is going to destroy me. And then I'm only gonna ask for more. That long shot of olivia reacting to the door crashing open is genius. Sam Mendes + Roger Deakins + Olivia Colman + Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross + Michael Ward = magic.

Watched this last night.
Absolutely amazing film.
Go and see it!
0:41 I love this shot. It really pulls you into the scene.
Using Angel Olsen for the soundtrack of the trailer has me hooked.
i don't care what the tomatometer says. i'm going.
Good on you. RT is either rigged or unfair anyway. Refer to Metacritic instead. I'm going to!
You know you're watching an excellent actress when you leave the cinema feeling bad for her. One of the most impressive trait she has in this is portraying the "love at first sight" glance she gives Steven when he walks into the staff room the second time they meet
If there’s Olivia Colman, I am in!!!
Olivia Colman... oscar nomination for sure 🎉🎉❤️🎉🎉
Saw this tonight. A masterpiece. I cried within the first 30 minutes because of how relatable it was to my own life and the love that I once had for someone. So good that it didn't feel like I was watching a movie anymore. Wonderful acting, directing, and painfully relatable characters. I'll never understand the critics' criticisms/harshness/cynicism towards this film. What happened to liking good movies?
You brought your heart. The critics brought their mind
They didn’t let Mendes obvious and cringy Oscar bait ploys blind them to the weakness of his atrocious writing.
Is it a woke film though?
@@simonstones1918 takes pains to tick many boxes yeah. Even her boss played by Colin Firth, he’s ofc a predator. couldn’t just have him a decent bloke, it was the 80s you see…😴
@@BlookbugIV I can’t watch anything that lectures to me. Or ticks boxes. Should I avoid!
Olivia Colman I’m totally sold.
Just got to see it with a live Q&A the actors in Hollywood. It was a brilliant!
Just finished this movie 🍿 it was ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT!! The acting was absolutely on point....such a beautiful, healing, 📽️ I absolutely will be adding this to my collection!
I reember watching broadchurch, and being overwhelmed by her acting. I was above the entire thing. And The Favourite is on my list of favorites of all time. She is perfect.
I would watch anything with Olivia Coleman !
I'll watch anything with Olivia Colman
I can't believe this film scores so low on rotton tomatos. I've never felt more seen and more moved by a film. What a beautiful film.
This looks incredible. Can't wait.
The best movie in years. Im speechless. How come the world sleeps on this masterpiece?
Olivia colman!! yes please
Watching a film about a movie theater in a movie theater was a funny sensation.
Looks good to me, some of our best actors, I love Toby Jones and Olivia Coleman. I will make up my own mind and ignore the critics.
All I had to see was Roger Deakins, Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross to know this will be incredible.
Looks intriguing...that door shot looks great...stunning as always from Sam Mendes...
Don’t know what film the critics watched! I thought it was fantastic 💚
This is such a magnificent movie. And Olivia Colman is great, great in it.
Wow wow blew me away, what a beautiful movie, story and what a dept. Human connection💞 what a theme esp in these very very troubled years…❤️🩹 all over the world.
Left me in tears sitting out the whole end. Thanks Sam and all crew🙏
A true ode to the movietheater, nót ‘hollywood’ and the importance of feeling connected

Going out on a limb: this will prob be my favorite movie of the year along with Tar
That's cool to hear. I hoped this was good.
You can never judge a film by the trailers. Sometimes the trailers have footage that has been edited out of the final print.
Wouldn't be a good movie without Olivia. She's a great actress.
Congratulations Empire of Light to get nominated for Cinematography, well deserved after got BAFTA nominated, ASC nominated and Critics Choice nominated. Roger Deakins is a genius cinematographer
Definitely best Mendes movie ever! Outstanding acting and exceptional photography! Loved every second!

Second Oscar for Ms. Olivia Colman! 👏👏👏
Just saw 1917 last night. Mendes is a master of emotion.
@@letstrythisagain5096 um, no?
1917 was ridiculous, a melodramatic war fantasy that could only come out of the mind of someone looking for cinema awards.
For the movie title, 5 stars! As for the rest, intrigued!
Loved this film and I walked past that cinema when I went to Margate! :D
I found out about this movie from hearing the score by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross, which was fantastic, so now I want to see the movie lol
I’ve always been a fan of Olivia Colman Now I ADORE 🥰 her.
Loved this movie, it is very underrated. I think most people were expecting the script to be something like what we see on The Crown since most of us associate Olivia Colman with The Crown. It was fantastic but on a different emotional level than most people were expecting. Watch this with an open mind and you’ll have a great time. 📽️🍿☺️
Went to see a movie yesterday in Austria and this trailer was played as if this was a new movie.
Simply amazing..... time won't change it...
What a cruel joke, I just discovered Olivia Coleman this year. Watching peaky blinders for the first time, I saw her presence. she was the best Queen in the crown rest in peace dear lady
I think you've got Colman confused with Helen McCrory? Both are incredible talents
@@themothermarkos no I did not she was the next Queen after Claire Foy
@@billmadison2032 Yes she was the queen after claire foy in the crown but was not in peaky blinders - helen mccrory was and died just before season 6 filming started last year.

Un film extraordinaire, une actrice prodigieuse, des cadrages excellents, une histoire magnifique. Aux variétés à Marseille.
Loved, loved LOVED this movie.
Any other former (or current) indie cinema employees who were absolutely wrecked by this movie?
“Look around you. This whole place is for people who want to escape. People who don’t belong anywhere else.” That was exactly how it felt.
Brilliant film! Great story and beautiful cinema photography
Jesus, Olivia Colman is going to kill me with this one. 💔Tbh idk how she could top The Crown, The Favourite, Joyride, Tyranosaur and Broadchurch etc., I'll guess I'll find out 😂 And I had no idea Sam Mendes was such a big thing in the film industry, the response this movie gets is insane!
Truly amazing Broadchurch, words are inadequate for description…just incredible !❤
Watched the trailer, looks amazing, great actors, great director and then if it couldn't get any better at the end it says the soundtrack is byTrent Reznor and Atticus Ross! Bring it on!
Pls we'd love to see it in Korea. I saw a commercial in Paris really wanted to see it but didn't have a chance. Pls

Beautifully made movie. I love the atmosphere.
Olivia is killing it
Yes, a masterpiece.
Sophie is taking over Hollywood.
Looks beautiful
Visually stunning film! The Oscar nom for cinematography is well deserved. Love Olivia (as always!) and was very pleased to be introduced to Micheal Ward. But, as much as I wanted the pairing to work, it fell flat. There's been a lot said about how they worked with an intimacy coach for the sex scenes (which, honestly, seemed tamer than what Olivia did in The Favourite so not sure why that was needed) and you could really tell she was having a difficult time buying in. The potential was there, but the end result felt a bit contrived. There's one scene where she kisses him and it felt natural and organic and believable and that was when her character was in the midst of mental health episode. If that energy had carried over to the rest of the movie, the Colman-Ward pairing would have been explosive. As it is, it barely fizzles. 😔 And Mendes should've dropped the whole 'love letter to the movies' thing because it dragged the movie down. B-
True, same
So good ❤
A Great film. And a powerful take on racism and mental health issues.
