I was chuckling throughout your haul vid. I enjoyed your enthusiasm for these items and the thrill of the hunt. My gosh, you’re on a friggin’ canoe and spot a place to forage in and it not a woody trail. Who does that? You do and I get it.
You made it me easy to imagine the thrift store, you with the pack bag and all the wonderful vintage staff around. Thank you for showing it all. The button box is great, I would have bought it too. I visit almost every Sunday the flea market trying to find things I can use in crafting and making junk journals. I have some videos on those if you want to see. You have a new subcriber.
I was going to stop after the last video. Just take a break. I've been working a little in my unfinished journal I started in 2011 while watching you. But when I seen the title of this one I just have to watch it now not later. Ok here goes! Awesome finds especially that box at the end!
hi gina, the Beaches Common Sense Travel booklets were used by traveling salesman -1950-1960, i'm old enough to remember them coming to our homes selling all sorts of things, encyclopedias, insurance, etc. They used those little booklets to keep track of mileage, expenses, etc. what a great find! if you look them up, you will see lots are sold on ebay and etsy. the best for last! i'll say! what a darling little box of buttons. wouldn't you love to know who owned it and the story about it being used over the years? such fun finds on your trip! well done and thanks for sharing.
Oh my gosh your energy is so infectous and your delight at all your finds was palpable .Enjoyed watching with my cup of tea, Then the books ...I was a teacher too so can relate to the stickies .I LOVE hunting especially for vintage childrens books. Discovered that I have a Anne of Green Gables copyrighted 1911 I must have picked up at a thrift store long ago. Thanks for sharing.I had a good time watching .
Such fabulous things you found! And the little sewing box...absolutely incredible!!! When I saw your post of it on instagram, I thought you found the box there, but put your own things in it. Yeah, didn’t realize those marvelous bits were already inside!!! 🥰❤️🔆
I would love, love, LOVE to purchase one of the "rainy day" kits if you decide to put them together! I've been searching for rainy weather items. That wrapping paper is the cutest!
I ❤️❤️❤️all your goodies❣️❣️ so much fun💐! I remember s many of these from my youth! I would love the elephant images/poems for my baby nephew! I’ll check with you on Etsy
I just discovered your channel! My family has a cabin in Estes Park and we visit every few years. I love that you found some treasures there. I will have to check it out next summer. Love your treasures!
Gina, I love your Channel! Been watching for a while and LOve, Love, love how you create your planners from scratch in notebooks etc. Anyway, this one..I adore Holly Hobby too! Those invites and other vintage cards you found were amazing!!! I have some old cards too in my stash that had been gifted to me to use in journal making etc. I must say that I am quite the stationary lover. Would love to do a little swap with you. Let me know if you would be interested. Bright Blessings, ~Dena
At the end of the Summer , I found a gorgeous perfect condition "The Days of Holly Hobby" oversized hardback for $.90. I grabbed it so fast lol! You had a great haul of some unique finds. Newish subscriber here. Loving the videos. Xx-Heather
What an AWESOME haul! I love your enthusiasm, and I was excited right along with you! When you first pulled out the Holly Hobby cards, I said, "I think those are Holly Hobby," so was thrilled when you saw that they were. I used to have some Holly Hobby blank cards as a girl but of course I used them to write to penpals back in the day. I'm fairly new to your channel and I'm really enjoying it.
Sorry to be so off topic but does someone know of a trick to log back into an instagram account?? I was dumb lost the login password. I would love any tricks you can offer me.
@Mordechai Brooks i really appreciate your reply. I got to the site thru google and Im in the hacking process now. Takes quite some time so I will reply here later with my results.
The carbon backed papers are a form of charge accounts that stores used to use for approved customers. My first job ever still used these in the late 80's.
Let me know what kind of paper you were looking at in the 5 and dime. I can’t go this weekend being the 4th of July.....a madhouse, but I can take a look for you some weekend. Live in Denver and its about a 40 minute ride. Not a biggie at all. Also let me know what you are interested in. I shop at 4 thrift shops in a five mile radius from my house, plus I go to estate sales all the time because I live in one of the oldest neighborhoods in Denver. They have some absolutely knock you off your feet items for cheap. Plus I am old so I know what was good in the 50’s. I bought 2 wedding dresses loaded with lace and beads for 10 bucks each. That is what I call a steal of a deal. Since I work from home, it gives me an excuse to get out and go shopping.........Hope you enjoyed your trip to Colorado!
I have a question. When picking pages out for a new journal do you stay away from the really old stuff? I have some really old magazine pages from the 1920s I really want to bind into a signature, but they are kind of fragile and rip easily. How would you combat that?
Yes, I steer clear of old papers as pages in my journals. Old papers are beautiful but cannot be trusted as journal pages - at least not for me. I am too hard on my journals and need a sturdier paper. For me, I use the old papers in my artwork or as inspiration. xoxo- gina
Always a great day when we can find lovely treasure that makes the heart happy 💓💞 TFS 😍😇 💕
Wonderful treasures for JJ'ing...enjoy xox
