Zinc plating is directional, and whatever is being coated has to face the plates in the plating process. So the inside of the bowl does not get the full zinc coating on our premium plating and is only recolored after the process.
@@QuadrajetPowerLLC Reason I ask is I have a Caswell setup with an added pump & filter to do zinc plating and I'm running into this problem where I can't get the inside of the float bowl to plate. There's this center section on both the air horn and body that aren't plating. Everything else came out perfect, nuts, bolts, throttle arm, etc. It's almost like from the zinc anode to the part it makes it to the areas closest to the anode. For the body I was using around 5.25amps. 10 gauge wires, etc. 2 anodes in the tank. It was in there for a good 50 minutes with me moving it around constantly. For the air horn and bodies of the QuadraJet what amperage do you use? Do you create additional anodes and place it in hard to reach spots of the body? I'm at a loss here. The only reason I know it's not plating is when I dip it in the yellow chromate it converts the entire surface with the exception of this dark gray area.
@@pattygq I noticed we did not get an answer, I do not know much about plating but maybe this video will help you! ua-cam.com/video/Nmn94B5UUuU/v-deo.html&feature=share
@@QuadrajetPowerLLC Nice! I'll be in touch sometime closer to spring for a carb on my 67 Electra. I'm hoping to pull the motor, rebuild and repaint the block this summer and that goldish tone would look fantastic on that dark buick engine red.
Beautiful work!
man, it looks so fantastic!
Beautiful job! What is the body coated with? Thanks.
Thank you, we have a chemical dip that we use to color the bodies.
Same day shipping got my order super fast great quality stuff thanks!
Is the inside of the fuel bowl completely plated or does it show up a dull gray?

@@QuadrajetPowerLLC Are you guys doing the replating yourselves?
@@pattygq Yes, we do all plating in house.

Can the entire body be plated?
Yes, it can be plated and colored. We do that on our premium level plated builds.
