International Union of Elevator Constructors Hosts 2023 Global Power Trade Unions Conference

Several weeks ago, International Union of Elevator Constructors (IUEC) General President Frank Christensen and IUEC leadership hosted the 2023 Global Power Trade Unions Conference in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
Since 2011, the International Union of Elevator Constructors has been a proud member of the Global Power Trade Unions (GPTU), an international organization of unions whose members work in the electrical and conveyance industries. It includes more than 30 labor unions from around the world who hold meetings annually to share ideas and come up with collaborative solutions to combat industry challenges -challenges that know no borders.
At this year’s conference, attendees addressed issues such as climate change, education and training, safety, skilled worker shortages, and the war in Ukraine, and discussed the impact these global concerns will have on the power trades.
