Hi guys. ‘Misselthwaite’ will feature in the next edition of Hornby Magazine if you’re interested in reading a bit more about the layout. It should be available from 2nd April.
Another fantastic delving into the Dales. Glanced from a distance on a train ride to and from York by Joyce and me, but experienced almost weekly on UA-cam! Nice!
Ah springtime. It's coming but the ground here is frozen solid. I wish it were more like the springtime you depict in your Yorkshire Dales. Great running today, thank you Lewis.
Morning Lewis, loved seeing that mixed goods train arriving at misselthwaite, but the shunting around to get the break van on the other end and then add wagons to the new front of the train all tell the story. Masterclass pure joy, so pleased you're going to get some recognition for the hard work you put into this hobby, all to often its relatively few of us who get to see what is a work of art. Look forward to seeing it Eddy xx
I like the many tightly framed shots in this episode that draw me into the scene - and the shots that include the farm house sitting majestically on the hill above the tunnel mouth give real vertical depth too. I admit to having a soft spot for the K1. Another excellent video - thanks!
Absolutely love ❤️ this layout !so looking forward to getting back into building a model railway when I retire in a couple of years! As I’ve often said, the only things missing are smoke and steam effects.
All aboard!!! Fantastic, enjoyable and relaxing, all in one great video. I really love and enjoy your train model railway. Have a great day and and even better weekend.
Hey Lewis, was waiting for the spring video. There really is nothing like your content elsewhere. Having done an ok job on my first ever layout it makes it even more impressive when I watch back your running sessions with the sounds. Everything sits together so well, and that I know that is just on the floor in your small room makes it all the more impressive.
Yorkshire Dales!, could easily be the North Yorkshire Moors railway too, apart from the canal barges it certainly has the atmosphere. I love it! Fantastic Layout
Nice show as usual. I love the two first (especially the Mogul ;-) ) with the "bunker first action", something that would have happened many times on small branch lines. And the V3 with the custard and cream rake is a great idea, love it too !
Wonderful as always. One minor point is that as it’s a Spring video the trees look as if they are in full summer greenery. But that’s me being very petty.
Here in SA we're well into the 1st month of autumn, fall in your guys' terms😁 another couple of cool shunts around Misselthwaite, the layout, along with the Ponden-Buckdale line will remain evergreen as far as im concerned🙂 another delightful and splendid delivery with the branchline activities. Videos like these keeps the winter at bay😃
Like to see shunting of wagons and coaches from sidings to main line using class 08, steam locomotive or diesel locomotive before departing from the station. Your track weathering looks nice at the signal box and other sections of the layout. Excellent job.
Well it has been a minute or two, but good to see Misselthwaite on a busy spring day! Not sure Hornby Magazine is available in Western New York State, but congratulations on a well deserved appearance in print! I would love to see it! Good job, Lewis!
Simply stunning video, love all the details on the layout. I have only one problem: every time I watch one of your videos I realize that my layout is far from finished and it still needs a whole lot of work. Greetings from the Netherlands.
Hi Lewis, Now we can be sure Springtime is finally coming. Great action at 'Misselthwaite'! Nice LNER tank engine at the end of the video. Congratulations with 'Misselthwaite' featuring in the next Hornby Magazine. I'll ask my English friend to bring a copy; Don't want to miss that ! All the best & greetings, Filip
Great video 👍 I adore the added sounds. This time I was listening on headphones and the stereo direction of the added sound does not always matches the direction of the train, but it's fantastic anyway. (in Audacity you could add direction to the sound, do the sound could travel from the left to the right channel - or vice versa)
@@MouldyRaspberry iMovie can't seperate left and right audio. It would have to be prepared in Audacity or another audio editor. That's how I do my videos. Would be great if it would be possible in iMovie though. 🙂
Black 5 looked great - typical 'sticky chassis' but good effort at accommodating it - just about to receive my 4th, with the correct boiler to renumber 44871 ... already have 44781 and LMS 5000. K was nice, and still not certain of the 'aesthetics' of the V3 - just doesn't look right to me. Excellent vid and thanks for sharing. Al.
Thanks Al. I’ve had 3 or 4 black fives at various times that I sold on and all have been a bit sticky. Hopefully the new tooled version will be a different story!
Splendid video as always! What have you used for your dry stone walls? It looks like it is flexible as you've managed to fix it going over the hills. The only stuff I've seen if rigid and wouldn't work for hills.
Three steamies on the loose, very nice. I'm not keen on the V3/L1 tank engine, but I love the K1 and Jack of all Trades. Why just one location? You usually show your bigger railway too. I was hoping to get a shot or two from the footbridge. Just curious.🙃
Thanks Kelly. I haven’t been to my parents house in a few weeks to film on that layout. I should have a chance to get some more footage there soon though.
I love your videos as you know and I am a great supporter of the YDMR. I just can't help wondering if or why Misselthwaite deserves a six(or sometimes seven)-coach rake; is there call for it? Also, where does the lengthy goods train come from and why didn't it leave any wagons at Misselthwaite but take a full coal wagon away? Thanks again, Lewis...

can't wait to see it
Looking forward to seeing it.
Congratulations.
A hearty congratulations!
Well deserved! They could do with sponsoring you to write a how to book "mouldy for dummies" ;) 📖
Love this layout
Thanks!
Nice to see The Doctor having a nice day out in the Yorkshire Dales, I hope they remember where they parked.
I guess even the Doctor needs a holiday!
Who knew he was a model railway enthusiast!
We if he can’t find the time…
As usual excellent video filmed before the snow fell.you can't beat the Yorkshire dales. Thanks Lewis.
Thanks Tom 👍🏻
Always a welcome sight Lewis, a new video!!!
Thanks David!
Hi Lewis, another gem of a video. I never tire of watching your trains passing through the stunning scenery on your layout. Cheers Greg
I love it when Mouldy Raspberry puts up a new video. They always make me smile.
Greetings from Colorado Springs.
Thanks Dave - glad you liked it!
Another fantastic delving into the Dales. Glanced from a distance on a train ride to and from York by Joyce and me, but experienced almost weekly on UA-cam! Nice!
Thanks Anthony 😀
Every time I see a new update it is like coming to somewhere familiar and I have never been to the dales, I love your videos, thank you.

I agree about the smoke snd steam effects. It would be sensational even with smoke alone.
Your layout must be one of the very best around for realism. Excellent work modelling and in videoing!
Thank you!

Thanks Denis, appreciate it!
Nice video Lewis , a whole mixture of workings & a great view of the tardis ,sorry police box through the window ,great eye level shots .😊
Thanks Steven 👍🏻
Always nice to look at. Great video. Stunning how detailled the landscape is done and the living moments therein.
Thank you 😀
Fantastic as always - great camera work - really is the best channel. As a career railwayman this just looks and sounds so real. 👍
Thank you 😀

Thanks! Yeah I don’t have plans to change the layout every season 🤣
@@MouldyRaspberryand why would you?… the layout is pretty damned perfect. I was being “smart ass”.
Hi. Another great video. Don't recall seeing the green LNER Tank engine earning revenue before.
Thanks Ralph. I don’t run it enough, but it’s a nice loco.

Nice to see you keeping the freight moving Mr Mouldy. Nice vid. 😊
Thanks John!
Excellent as always, all it needs to make it perfect is steam top and sides, I think you can get that now.
Thanks 😀
This should be on the NHS👍
Thanks 😀

Thanks! Yes they’re made from foam, you can get them from Osbourne’s Models.
Brilliant .Can I ask who manufactures the flexible stone walling? .Looking forward to seeing the article .Well done
Thanks David. A company called Osbourne’s Models in Devon I think. They sell them on their website.

Odd question Lewis; where did you get the gutters and down pipes on your station and goods shed? Thanks
I think they are a kit made by Ratio or Wills. They come on a sprue with a load of them.
@@MouldyRaspberry thanks that’s the ones I use. I keep looking for a better kit but not found one yet 👍
Any chance of seeing the route set up for this great layout please??
I can send you a track plan if you email me John - my email is mouldyraspberry@gmail.com

What is on the other end of the tunnel?
The storage yard 👍🏻
The girl on the bench at the station is really cute. What's her phone number?
