I am seriously impressed with Takcom! I got a stinger and so far it has out preformed my other one of similar size that cost 3 times as much! Even though it is 154cm it out cut the other one in m390!

Maybe around $100 range it would be sorta worth it. Doesn't cost that much more to use m390 than it does D2, middle man just trying to make too much profit. D2 would have a better heat treat anyway coming from China

Bestech has clocked at 60 HRC on their M390 in the past. Microtech MSI was 58.8 HRC on their M390 on my latest test. So maybe it’s not just China falling short on the M390 heat treatment.

@LuvThemKnives I'm sure the heat treatment is still in range, m390/20cv can be a bit chippy over 60. Usually when people rockwell test a knife they get the tang or the spine which is supposed to be softer anyway, its thinner material out at the edge so it will naturally get harder at same temperature. The D2 isn't a noticeable difference in performance for the price. I got my microtech(the ones that originally patented the design) for $200, made in Merica (where safer manufacturing that is less of a negative impact on the environment comes at an added cost)😁 Not big on Americanese rebranded brands, worse than a Chinese company based in America

I bought that grunt off of you on your site. to save some money. because that knife isn't worth no $240.
yeah I have absolutely zero problems with it having the seatbelt cutter. as I'll use it as an emergency cutter on my boat. I'm disappointed in the fact that the hardware is so small. they want to make a real working man's knife then beef up the hardware. tiny little t6 screws don't cut it in my book. big money is the blade steel I guess. I like the knife it's an EDC for me. I only deal in OTFs. because I like only using one hand to do it all. and I'm not into the flicking thing!
I'll have to check out how much it actually ends up being here tax tag and title out the door with 20% off.
not that I'm going to buy one in the Biden economy.
I thought it was supposed to be really thick and beefy. I was disappointed in how skinny the knife was. all the talking hands videos kept saying how beefy thick and robust it was.
tell you the truth my lightning feels more beefy. and has larger hardware.
