- Hiroko Sasaki , a citizen of Japan, developed her interest in sitar when she visited Varanasi, India as a tourist.
She started learning from a local teacher in Varanasi the posture and basics of playing.Destiny brought her to Kolkata to be introduced with Vidushi Mita Nag from whom she commenced her tutelage in 2012.
She kept visiting India and residing for long terms for her sitar learning .
The ICCR scholarship in 2018 furthered her education in Music.
She has just completed her Bachelors Degree in Music from the Rabindra Bharati University while she learns under the guidance of Vidushi Mita Nag of Bishnupur Gharana.

Madhuvanti ma'am please clear a doubt for me as i don't have a teacher yet. I have read on someones blog that in yaman along with teevra madhyam, shuddha madhyam is also used sparingly to beautify the raag. Is this correct?
