Okay. Now that I've had some time to brood this last movie over:
I feel like after Rey heals Kylo on the Death Star, they could have come together for a plan to take Palp down. Instead we see Rey run away again even though she realizes that something shifted in Ben because she felt Leia die to give Ben his humanity back.
As much as I loved my sad boy running in to save Rey (that one and only word in that whole sequence being "ow" was priceless along with his new Solo fighting style and that little shrug after getting his blue lightsaber from Rey) and then that truly epic light saber force bond grab... it could have been so much better still.
Star Wars is supposed to be about hope and I went into the movie certain Rey was gonna kill Kylo because he wouldn't be turned.
AND THEN. They give us freaking Ben saving Rey; those damn Adam Driver emotions still have me ugly sobbing.
My favorite quote from the whole movie might be Kylo telling Rey "We're a dyad in the Force, Rey. Two that are one." Literally soul mates. Equals. Every time they light saber play between each other, Kylo only pushes her, doesn't harm her even though she gets a few nicks into him. He wants her to realize how powerful she is. He wants her to be strong and is in awe when sparks come out of her in the desert.
I was reading on Tumblr some of the movie reactions and someone mentioned that Ben Solo has been tortured by Palpatine, the equivalent of a space Devil, since young. We all remember that Darth Vader was once Anakin, that kind boy, but the evil is so strong that it needs a miracle, a sacrifice in return to fight it. Hence Leia giving her life to bring Ben back. So people saying he HAD to die because of all the bad shit he did pisses me off. He deserved to keep redeeming himself along side Rey, his equal, his soul mate.
Instead. INSTEAD. They decided they would kill him. Freaking brilliant JJ killjoy Abrams. Thanks. I walked out so pissed out of the theater. 3 god damn movies for that ending. There were way more people who would have loved an ending of Ben and Rey going to bury the lightsabers together. But no. We get Rey all alone on the same planet we saw her being lonely on in the first movie.
They made Reylo canon and then took it away 5 seconds later. My mouth literally dropped when Ben's body fell. They give us the most tender kiss, the most amazing acting from Adam Driver with his heart shattering expressions, the most excited I've been to see two souls united on the movie screen... and THEN. 3 movies of bringing Ben back to the light and then they give us this. What for? For some angst? I had enough angst for 3 movies because I love it, give us a damn happy ending for once.
Thought now that Disney owned Star Wars they would. Disney killed my believe in happy endings.
There's definitely still some hope that Ben is able to come back since they left him out when Luke and Leia came back as Force ghosts and Ben was not among them. He's stuck in between worlds and Rey gonna go save her soul mate in whatever spin off they are gonna do.
You can't kill a beloved character like Kylo Ren/Ben solo without people rioting. He's my favorite in all of Star Wars (well besides baby Yoda child) and the can't just have him stay dead. Final.
Also, can I just mention how dirty they did Fin and Rose? Where the hell did that sweetness go?

P.S. Whoever thinks they are related obviously has missed a few of those eye fuckings Reylo's been giving each other in the 3 movies and also those same people need to go educate themselves of Star Wars Wiki. I have spoken.

As someone who has been around a long time, the greatest, most memorable love stories are those that break your heart. And this one did. And that's why you hate the outcome so much and it will stay with you.

There can be various reactions to this outcome, but most Reylo fans will be chewing over Ben's death/sacrifice, imagining and creating different scenarios, feeling the grief more intently and for a lot longer than if there was a happier ending. I remember seeing a movie from about 1970 that had such a sudden, tragic ending for the star-crossed lovers and the impact has stayed with me all of these decades. The story has been remade several times in movies and for TV, but they never left me with the tumult of emotions the version did in 1970.
Well I knew it before i watched. Ben is dying in this movie just like Papa Palpatine. Damn that was just sad as hell.

This.... This is beautiful. I cried so hard when Ben died and I was so happy they kissed despite leaving TLJ as a strong anti-reylo Star Wars fan... I loved them together so much in TROS and I'm heartbroken that they never truly got their happy ending... But Luke didn't with his father either... Star Wars loves to break those bonds right as they become their strongest 💔 what a phenomenal video though. Be proud of yourself, you pulled off something breathtaking here!

What you said in the drop box was everything I was feeling! I cried SO much at that last part when he died. He looked so happy, for once!! 😢😢 I'm still crying..if only he turned earlier. I would have loved seeing them together as a couple longer than a few seconds. This is why I am going to go write a new ending to this sad, ying-yang romance.

When Ben was cradling Rey in his arms you can clearly see all of the love and fear in his eyes and it just makes me feel so sad. There was also such a determination in his eyes when he was running after her in exegol, he really did deserve better, they both did.
When she healed Ben, it wasn't just his wounds she healed, but his heart and soul.
And his massive face scar that was synonymous with Kylo Ren

I don't think they ever hated each other, although there's a fine line between love and hate. They were angry against each other because they wanted to be together, lovers, but were on opposing sides!!

I LOVED this kiss scene! Really I did! But I would have like it better if Ben didn’t have to die. It would have loved it if at the end that Ben was with Ray holding her hand and they would be looking off into the distance with a sun on each of them. This would symbolize that together they would be the ones to lead the next generation.

Raylo family! I have a suggestion. It may help us get a happy ending for Ben, but even if it doesn’t help, it won’t hurt for sure.
You can write letters to the Lucasfilm studio. Not electronic, but paper, in envelopes. Here at this address:

Not so long ago they tweeted that they have a huge collection of letters and they are proud of it. I offer them her ... To diversify. Let’s write why we are not happy with Ben’s death, why it killed the spirit of SW for us. A few rules:
1) Do not call the studio and JJ bad words. Swearing, no matter how they deserve it, will not help. It is necessary to clearly and clearly convey to them why it pains us to watch Ben's death and why we want to see the continuation of his story.
2) In no case describe how the film should have ended. They immediately throw away any materials sent with drawings or some kind of creativity.
3) Stress that you want to look at the adventures of the redeemed Ben Solo (because the Lucasfilm may consider that it is enough to finish the ghost of Ben's power in the finale). Do not mention Rei (because they can find that the fans will be satisfied if they write Ray's adventures after Tatooine) and do not criticize that she took the name Skywalker (to hell with that).

You can send it from any mail. Just come to the post office and ask how much the envelope and stamp cost to send to the United States.
If you like the idea, repost to other groups and tell like-minded people. The probability that the mice will resurrect Ben is, though not high: the rise of Skywalker is even lower than the Last Jedi.

Be happy you got the kiss at least, the original ending was just Kylo getting pushed in the pit, never to be seen again. Changed and reshot because of negative test audience reactions.

Star Wars couples need to stop having tragic endings. For real, it’s getting old. Padme and Anakin, Han and Leia, now Ben and Rey. I really thought they’d go the distance.

He is a murderer and his arc (including redemption) was powerful in a moving, Shakespearean tragedy kind of way... But yall are batshit crazy thinking the galaxy wouldnt dice him into 40 pieces and yes, the Rey kiss was only written in for emotional impact towards young teenage girls. This whole empathy towards this monstrous villain is insufferable. Kylo Ren is a classic villain archetype of redemption, not romance. The kiss meant something a lot different, and you will understand that when you arent 14 anymore. May the force be with you, and glad you enjoyed the film; albeit it is a tragedy you likely enjoyed it for the wrong reason.
WeylandDyson Royce I’m 33 & I LOVED how it all turned out - couldn’t have been better. Yet, I’m 100% against death penalty (doesn’t happen in Sweden) & THAT is why I’m saying that he didn’t deserve death. I have been intrigued about their relationship but never in a million years did I imagine them walking off happily in the sunset at the end. So, I’m not envisioning an alternate ending but comforting those who are. Cause I feel all those romantics - even though it’s unreasonable - because this is a fairytale & a lot unhappier than the OT. My kind advice for you is to be more mindful of judging people too quickly, please 🙄 Because I believe that most adults deep down understand that the ending of Ben’s arc couldn’t have been more satisfying, yet most of us have that little child inside of us who imagine an idealistic version since the real world is brutally harsh as it is.

I dunt think it was JJ. I think it was Kathleen Kennedy. She really messed up a lot of the SW story. It's been 10 months and my heart is still broken. Bring Ben Solo back. His face is so interesting. In the new movie he mostly looks like the man in his 30s that he is, but then in certain scenes he just looks like a lost young man. Still barely grown. I think it's something about his expressions. The way he emotes. I like it.

I've always been certain they would be endgame since SW7, but I never thought they would kill Ben that fast after making them canon. Kylo died, but I'm so disappointed for both of them Ben did too, he deserved his happy ending. At least, we had a meaningful kiss and beautiful moment between them where they finally reached each other.

So gorgeous! As one of the older Reylo’s, I don’t often listen to the music videos the other Reylos put together. There have been so many of them over the years and often the music is nothing I’m real familiar with. But I’m awfully glad I clicked on this one. It is so beautiful and so lovely to look at as we deal with the end of the story in the movies. Your video shows how beautiful this relationship is. I really wish they would have given us the fairytale we thought we were getting. We’ll just have to make it for ourselves.

We already saw Anakin's redemption and death... Why not to change it in here? Kylo was controled, still young and he fight the dark much more than Darth Vader did. Yes, he save the woman like Anakin couldn't, but death seems so easy for me, like... "Well, kill him because is dramatic and we don't have to think about the consecuences that he should face for his sins (wich were not his fault)". Ugh. An union between Skywalker and Palpatine once and for all to end their f*cking legacy.

I got this from another comment, but apparently Leia transferred her remaining life to Ben, so he “teleported” (I couldn’t find a better word) where Leia was and lived.

Man I'm so torn about the ending. After all he did, yeah it would have been difficult to move forward if he was alive, but I feel Rey could have helped him all the way through. She knew his pain and started to understand where he was coming from. All she wanted for him was to heal. Plus Ben also understood her pain. They had such beautiful chemistry. They could have done so much with it :( the novels made their chemistry so much more obvious!
They could have done what Padme had in mind for her and Anakin: Run away and rise their child together in peace. 😭

I've been on a hunt to read the novels since everyone seems to agree they add to the movies' depth. But I am afraid of reading TROS's ending. I want there to be a chance he is out there in the World between Worlds and Disney will, most likely, use the book to seal his tomb instead. Maybe they'll give us some closure though. I could have lived with his death IF Rey had been given screen time for grief, and the hope through seeing Ben's dang force ghost that they weren't parted forever. That he'd be with her.....always 😭💔😭♥️
I see most comments are from women, so from a male perspective I applaud your Reylo videos. They are touching and beautifully done. They truly capture the essence of the complex relationship that "Ben" and Rey built over the span of the three films. It shows that Ben still had some semblance of input or control, despite Kylo Ren trying to be the dominant persona due to the dark side contamination. Although the "Happy Ending" would have satisfied many a viewer, the ending as it happened is much more powerful as it elicits strong feelings associated with the sacrifice of a redeemed tragic character. It invalidates many of the criticisms related to the lack of character development, as it is clear that viewers were quite invested in the character of Ben Solo and his inner struggles with Kylo Ren and his interactions with and feelings for Rey, his Father and his Mother. If just for the Reylo dynamic, I give this film a grade of "A".
Guys this is Just the nature of all tragic hero's arc. The hero redeems himself before he dies. The hero dies but the story lives on forever...

The thing what people miss is that Palpatine revived himself by absorbing their Force Dyad. In Sheev's and Rey's showdown, the Force Dyad died with Sheev while Rey's life force died with Rey.
When Ben healed Rey, he gave his life force to Rey leaving Ben to be an empty husk that disappeared. Ben's life force didn't ascend into the cosmic force AKA he didn't become a force ghost because his life force lives in Rey. They are literally the same creature now, _two that are one_
That's why Ben will literally always be with Rey no matter what.

I expected it. I knew he had to die. Not because of the bad things he did like you wrote in the description but because redeeming himself, saving Rey and then dying would make sense and would be an arc for him. Because he did the right thing before dying. But It also crushed me and I cried and I loved the Reylo kiss only to have him die and take him away from us. Of course part of me wanted him to live and continue redeeming himself along side Rey and happy things. But I also really loved and enjoyed the movie.And it made me cry multiple times.

Me, too...since the forrest scene and later when he revealed his face to her at the Star killer base. Ben was not supposed to die this way. They left us with so many unanswered questions. OMG and that scene with Han. When he wanted to say that he's sorry or that he loves him. My heart couldn't take it. And then the End. I'm still processing it. This can't be how they decided to end this saga. Ben deserved and deserves so much more. Such a complex character that was beautifully brought to life by Adam Driver. 😭😭😭😭😭
Wonderful performance by Daisy, love her to bits. Her portrayal of Rey as a "normal" young woman finding her way in life in this trilogy is great. It is so refreshing to watch a movies that do not rely on sex and foul langauge to make an impact.

Star Wars doesn't make sense without Ben Solo. I'm sure, that many Star Wars fans won't go to the cinema.... the problem is "Rey doesn`t work without Ben". Ok. Fin is a nice character, but he and the other rebels are nice characters, but that's it: they are only nice. The chemistry between Rey & Ben, the bound they have, the connection in the force, it would be AMAZING to see them in the future as a couple loving's each other, their little children (Jedi) growing up, fighting together against the dark forces in the galaxy. Ben Solo decided to help Rey and fight for the galaxy against Palpatine (he could loose his life) and finally he decided give up his life for Rey! It doesn't make sense to reward hin with death, and it really doesn't` make sense, that Rey didn't mourn him. Rey must felt... that he's not gone forever....he is in the world between worlds and he is going to come back... Rey may help him to come back...

This is why I’m convinced they married.
She said she’d take his hand, but as Ben. At the end when he rez’d her, she grabs his hand, they have a moment and kiss. After the kiss, they have another moment where they seem to talk to each other’s mind, that’s why he smiles, then dies - asking her to marry him.
That’s why she says at the end, I am Rey Skywalker. She married into the family.
