Have this exact CW. It's so gorgeous it literally made me curse loudly for about 5 minutes when I unboxed it for the first time. I love it. It's fun, gorgeous, well built, exquisitly finished, and can be dressed up or down. Some watches just feel special to me and this one has that "X" factor for me personally. Wonderful review as usual!
Nice cheerful piece. The best thing about Christopher Ward is that you can tell the month and year of manufacture simply by looking at which logo is on the dial.
I have looked at this watch in the past and because of this video, looked again...and they have updated the dial with the new CW logo, replacing the name "Christopher Ward" as shown in the version in this video.
Fantastic video brother 👏 CW is near and dear to me. We’ve had the pleasure of speaking to Mike France on the podcast and he’s such a humble CEO. Unlike Panerai, CW actually listens to their customers and truly focuses on innovation and value for $! Keep up the amazing work my man 👍🏼
I have to respectfully disagree... The logo argument has been rumbling for years and France, doing what France does best, completely ignored it. As for innovation, I think the range over the past few years has consisted of more and more blatant copies than at any time in their history. Prices have gone up dramatically, QC and CS has deteriorated ( especially since Wera left), so they're a brand that I've grown away from. Maybe the colab with Fears will interest me or the rumoured minute repeater. Fair play to you regarding your relationship 👍
Another great review as always Evan. Most modern super-compressor cases are just for show (JLC Polaris, Longines Legend Diver, IWC Aquatimer etc) as modern seals negate the need for these complex cases. So I applaud CW for making one of these supposedly working super-compressors. Super-compressors went the way of the Dodo due to one fatal flaw - they often leaked if the diver did not descend into the water quick enough during a dive as the shallow depths don't produce enough pressure for the cases to work. Quite an interesting piece of trivia for a pub quiz ...🙊
Well that and the fact that the rubber for gaskets improved and the "super compressor" effect can be achieved bythe Blancpain/Vostock ring shield back and deformable acrylic glass solution, that Finnish channel took a standard Vostock Zisou to 800m+. I' did a post once about how that famous Vostock engineering "solution" came out at the same time Blancpains patents for the ring/shield caseback lapsed, (they stopped actually using them before the 60's bagan) Like other watch myths, did you know for instance Blancpain did not invent the tourbillion, Omega invented the dive watch and the first watch is space was a Sturmanskie, also Seiko is the second oldest watch company in the world after VC?
I'm so glad you did the review! And since we are heading into summer, perfect timing ( aren't we all rationalizing a new dive watch for the season?) ...That aqua blue turns out to be about as beautiful as I could hope for. Love all the other dial details.
@@YoureTerrific Do divers even have a season? Isn't that the point of a wet suit--diving in a wide range of temperatures? That is, if we ever took these watches in the water, which we don't.
@@YoureTerrific just to echo their point, please keep doing videos across the price spectrum. As they grow in subscribers, many youtubers move up market with their reviews and end up focusing solely on watches in the > $3000 price range or various micro brands that they get paid to review. Which is fine, but misses out on a lot of cool watches. With this true compressor case, this is an example of a cool watch that some other guys wouldn’t ever do, which is a shame.

These reviews are always super-impresser haha. But may I suggest also noting the movement deviation specs? Like weight, this is a factor that I am always interested to hear, and, not knowing this specific selita movement, it would be a valued addition to the review :)
@@YoureTerrific The only additional comment I could contribute would be actual sizes. So many times you hear "40mm" and it is like 39.7mm. This would be good to know. Your videos are great! I literally stop what I am doing to watch when I get the notification, LOL.
Best value microbrand in my opinion. And that's a HUGE compliment. The level of design, creativity, craftsmanship, willingness to experiment and overall quality control is tremendous for the price. Then you have their luxury pieces which are frankly mind blowing and represent I think even better value. So with the C60 Apex LE they partnered with Armin Strom to do a skeletonised version of their INHOUSE SH21 movement and they even BLUED the BRIDGES! For only $4300 USD... Lunacy. They only made 100 of them but I'd take one of them over a $30k Omega Sea Master. I really would.

it's nice to see CW dance rings around the top watch companies. They seem to care that buyers want reasonable case sizes, usable features, good lume, and fun/modern style. Compare this to Omega releasing ANOTHER limited moonwatch and letting the world fight over the 1000 they make.
Great review...have you seen the latest version, they've removed the Christopher Ward brand from 12 and replaced it with the Aquitaine-style twin flag logo....there goes the final "criticism"....!
