Disney is spending money faster than they can make it. I don't really know the numbers, but they really need to work on themselves instead of trying to make deals and profits with studios that they don't really need to get involved in.

A small town opens a new franchise, it is packed for weeks as the "next best thing in town". After 3 months, business slows to a crawl like the rest of the other food chains.
People are flash consumers that settle back into their original patterns.
I think it's more of due to their popularity dwindling and their competition offering customers a much better experience outside of gaming and entertainment is what's causing them to buy more studios over time. For the Epic one, it's usually the money that comes from Epic games that'll not only help Disney with the money need to help pay their debts and do more expensive projects, but also tap into the moneymaking gaming side of things, not just movies, music, and tv show side of things.
But yes, this will cause some of the franchises already owned by Disney or bought by Disney to be totally dumbed down and Safe For Work for many decades to come. I'm not even sure how long the Walt Disney company is going to keep up with this until they eventually file some chapter 11 bankruptcy protection or something's going to break at some point.
Disney is a monopoly who owns almost everything. They are most definitely turning profits even with all their spending.

This feels like Disney is taking the concept of Disney Infinity, but dropping the toy collectibles. My first thought with the idea of live services and the idea of making your own content this could be like Roblox, customizing your characters, possibly making game modes. Still unsure as there's little to go off. This could be the equivalent to the Oasis from Ready Player One but with Disney IP's, however this does feel like they may be stretching out their Gaming Division given the many projects that have yet to come out and to make something so massive as this. It's either gonna be really good or really bad for the industry.
Epic Games owns Core game that works exactly like Roblox.
"gaming division"? Lol. They use third party developers and publishers ALL the time. They set a project and hand it off to someone else. This isn't at all like in the 90s/00s when you had Lucasfilm heavily involved in pretty much every game.
Why couldn’t they have just continued with Disney infinity? It is, what this is except with also physical product which is really cool. Also, I really wanted the Coco and a lion King expansion.

@@parkersmith7590 I know that the physical products were expensive but the idea of having something physical is a cool thing because now everything in the game is digital. At least if I want to play I have all the characters I need and don’t have to rely on another system because everything is stored in the RF ID chip in the base of the figures.
Because disney infinity isn't worth the investment for how much they get out of it. Partnering with a huge company like Epic will almost certainly get them more money and have a more experienced developer group alongside them, as well as having an etablished player base (fortnite, rocket league players) which will almost all try out what Disney is creating
Because peripheral gaming based products were just a Fad that has completely Faded Away..
I don’t think standalone star wars games will stop being made. In my eyes it would be stupid not to continue standalone games cause they’d get more of the profit instead of sharing a lot of it with epic
Disney really doesn't understand gaming, they saw those profits and saw live-service which went so well with Battlefront and decided that was the route the go. Star Wars games might never be like they were under Lucas Film. Never gonna get another KOTOR.

@@jolyproductions I’ve played rocket league when it came out and randomly now and then. What did they do to ruin it? I’m not as in tune with rocket league too much and only know about removing trading.
I just feel like Disney won't do that. They see the money that fortnite brings in and as a result they will squeeze as much from epic as they can and get them to pay for an exclusive license. It's just a shame because I really feel like there is so much potential for star wars and we have seen what the grip of Disney has done with some of these stories being focused on content they seem important which has been successful yes but at the same time hasn't. I feel like there's not going to be any new story in the star wars cannon because epic games want to build on the Fortnite lore.
@@MrPeach6000 The matchmaking has been screwed up for years, they removed trading which removed a good portion of the community, no good gamemodes or maps coming out, and epic keeps making tweets about store items rather than addressing everyone's concerns. There's more but that's just on the top of my mind, playing competitive at champ+ is horrible. Could be a champ 1 going against grand champ 2s

I feel like we need a complete Lego Star Wars Clone Wars game that covers all the series of The Clone Wars and even maybe the cancelled episodes that were meant to be included.
Have the main story episodes be the story mode and other episodes could be side quests

Yep just look at what happened to call of duty, the quality of their games was great... Then they followed the fortnite trend cough cough "Battle royal trend", and then the quality of their games has declined drastically ever since as their attention and resources were almost entirely focused on Warzone as opposed to their main games. This included store bundles for the main games as a lot of their efforts were more focused on that as opposed to actually making content not things that force you to cough up half the price of a full game just for something that wont last forever.
And the sad part is that its all too true because of the fact that tue one thing Warzone and the main games had in common was that they were all connected through the in game store, as whatever you bought in the main games could be used on warzone.
Next warzone release they deleted the old warzone and re-released it and then forced everyone to buy their old stuff back if they wanted their cool looking guns and cosmetics.
And very likely they will repeat that until the end of time as cod players simply dont know any better and feed the cash cow.
In general i would hate for star wars to meet the same fate but it seems almost inevitable at this point.

I was never a fan of fortnite until I had seen someone play it. I downloaded it on my series x and my mind was blown how good the graphics are for a free game. I have spend around $20 on the game but that's pretty cheap considering I've been playing it like a year and continue to keep playing.

Remember Star Wars Eclipse trailer with the drumming and all? I hate how they hype people up and then let their projects be shelved and die. I am 99% certain Eclipse or however its called is dead and the Kotor remake too. All we want is Battlefront 3. I'm even gonna say people would have payed for the continuation for Battlefront 2, as so many did in fact pay for Celebration Edition which was the game at almost full price again. Battlefront 2 would have needed some balance in skins before it was done for. Han has 5 or so skins while Vader was never given a second skin.
I'm not opposed to this. With the whole equity thing, I just hope that Epic will still have control of their game and still bring a multitude of crossovers that aren't Disney related, such as DC, Anime, Gaming, and even TV Shows. Don't get me wrong, I'm down for whatever this is, because I love Star Wars, whether it's good or bad (Yes, that means I too like the sequels to some degree, they're just fun to joke about.) But I do still hold hope for the KOTOR remake, whenever that gets announced or something.
Knowing Disney, something is bound to go wrong in so many ways, but I am seriously holding to the belief that this project can be promising. As long as each company still has their own control, and neither demanding of one another. Fingers crossed.
