- I spent the day in Glasgow to watch Rangers v Celtic in the Old Firm derby and it didn't disappoint. It was an incredible 6-goal thriller with Tavernier, Maeda, O'Riley, Sima, Matondo and Idah all on the scoresheet at Ibrox!

Obviously I'm hoping for Rangers Sam, but I reckon it's still a toss up at this point. It's certainly going to be the most exciting finish to the season in many years.
Probably the best bit was proof that you can put Celtic and Rangers fans in the same space, the pub where the game was being watched, and it doesn't end in disaster.
The people that would make it a disaster aren't in that pub

I think that painting in the Chapel was done by a guy called Peter Howsen. His painting today are world wide renowned and worth 100s of thousands if not millions. The guy has a very interesting story

I missed most of this game because I was doing a course for work😔. We had a 15 mins break in the last 10 mins of the game. It definitely was worth turning the game on for that last 10mins.

Great video Sam. Can't be described as the highest quality of football today, especially in the first half, but what a thriller it turned out to be. Great advert for Scottish football. Obviously I wanted Rangers to win, but I'll happily take the draw after being 2 down at half time and playing like a bunch of amateurs in the first half.

Did you manage to see the Lowland League Cup final, East Kilbride v Tranent? Sounded like some match, Tranent ended up winning on penalties after coming back from being 1-0 then 2-1 down.

Shocked to see you watching the game in the Ark just down the road from my Student Accommodation. Watched the England vs Scotland game and the Rangers league cup final victory there, where I was sat in your exact seat!

Celtic were founded as a professional football club, not a charity, you'd go hungry if you were waiting for them to bring you a meal. The game in Scotland was still amateur & they were sanctioned in the first deason of the league. Hibs however, were founded as a charity, celtic lured their players with cash (illegal then) & that's why Hibs were not in existence when the SFL was formed.
Celtic was founded in 1887 in St Mary's Chapel in the Calton. They played their first game in 1888 and became a limited company in 1897.
Celtic FC was specifically founded to raise funds to be directed to the Saint Vincent de Paul charity of the three nearest parishes. The name Hibernian was avoided in order to promote the social and economic integration that Brother Walfrid and Michael Davitt espoused.
Hibernian FC was founded in St. Patrick's Chapel Cowgate by Fr. Edward Hannon. It was an off shoot of the Catholic Young Men's Society of which it's players had to be members. Hibernian FC did not and do not claim that they were formed solely for charitable reasons, the opposite. Hibernian FC claimed to be an organization specifically for teetotal young Catholic men that were first or second generation Irish.
