i love how you can kinda tell which kanji the old hiragana came from け looks like the 計 in 時計 とけい (clock) す looks like 寸 すん (and old measurement, ~3cm) ち looks like the left side of the 知 in 知恵 ちえ (wisdom) if you squint hard enough, り sorta looks like the 理 in 理由 (reason) i love stuff like this
From what I have found, it appears that Japanese was traditionally written with brushes. It seems like the flush are to mimic the look of a brush. This is of course calligraphy, so it makes sense.
「ま」の安心感と「み」の異形がいい感じに対比になってて好き
何個か元になった漢字がわかるモノがあって面白い。

Knowing where these kana originated imo can help you become better at handwriting
the cursive ゆ and る looks disney.

Love that you include ゐ & ゑ
漢字がいっぱい出てきて面白かった!
I love how you can see the origins so clearly, especially when it's all put to motion.
Nice vid
Hi Takumi, thanks for your videos. Can you suggest some book to learn kusushi ji (cursive?) ?
なるほどなぁ
過渡期の字は、筆で縦書き用?
なるべくしてなったって感じやな。

What kind of pencil is that ?
I like this kind of video!
Can I be your personal student??
I want to learn this type of writings so bad😭🥺
Me too!
Get some paper and a pencil and try
ふりがなを過渡期の平仮名で書きなさい
面白いな。
漢字が崩れてひらがなになっていく過程みたいな感じか。
個人的には「い」みたいなよりシンプルなひらがなの方が難しい。
may i ask what the little flicks at the end of strokes are for?

😱 It doesn't make sense cursive hiragana sometimes 😖
Cursive hiragana comes from kanji, and hiragana is the simplified version.
It will all make sense after you know the kanji.
俺ら日本人が知らんひらがな何個あんねん
現在の処、滅多に使われてないのは「ゐ(為・wi)」と「ゑ(恵・we)」だけどね…。
