For some reason, I never did see this show until now--love to see shows devoted to pike fishing. During the winter months, I circle back to these older programs and re-watch them, getting ready for next summer in Canada!! Praying for snow and cold up here in the Upper Peninsula, for first-ice action. Thanks, guys, for a great program, and the production aspect is unsurpassed!
I have a twenty-pound Northern Pike that I caught in Ely Minnesota in 1996. I was on vacation with my father there. All my family is firm MN dating back to the late eighteen hundreds but I am from California. I think that's pretty good for a CA. boy! I caught that fish on a spoon fishing on a twelve rental boat on lake Shagawa. I had to have it mounted and I did. That monster is mounted on my office wall here in Nevada City Ca. What a fight it was. My father could not help me bring it in because he was very old then and could not even stand up to help me get it!! My great grandparents who migrated from Europe to Northern MN in the late 1800s would have been proud of me I am sure!! Most of my relatives still live in MN and could not believe their CA. cousin caught such a massive Northern!!!
i thought you were just going to narrate the video for jeff . but you came on in the end and started putting fish in the boat . great video guys , really enjoyed it .
Jeremy: At the end of the video, as you're talking while holding that last pike, if you look in the background you'll notice all the pelicans sitting on the rocks. I'm reminded of what Dick Pearson used to say, "If the birds are sitting the muskies aren't moving." Seems to hold true here as you're getting big pike but no muskies.
Are there fishes that pull a man into the water, almost drown him, put him ashore again and tell the other fishes, that they have caught a huge fat human near the lake? I would love that. It would maybe make you respect the fishes.

Most fishermen/ fisherwoman treat the fish with care and try to realese the fish right away
boga gripper can cause serious damage to the fish's jaws... we don't want that!
Thumbs down due to lipgrip, lots of other ways to hold the fish that is not harmfull. otherwise good video.
