Its really a pride for indians. I would like to thank our government and pm for changing the song from 'abide with me' to ' ai mere vatan ke logo'. Its veer ras geet.....salute to our great soldiers. This song brings patriotism in everybody's heart.

Sab se pehle, the ceremony called BEATING RETREAT itself should be removed because........BEATING RETREAT IS A COLONIAL CUSTOM AS IT BEGAN FIRST IN THE 17TH CENTURY AS AN IRISH CUSTOM.
SECONDLY REMOVE USAGE OF ALL THE WESTERN INSTRUMENTS AND THIRDLY, NO DEFENCE PERSONNEL SHOULD WEAR THEIR UNIFORMS BECAUSE YOU KNOW THEY ARE OF WESTERN PATTERNS AND INSTEAD ALL THE 3 DEFENCE PERSONNEL SHD ADORN THEMSELVES WITH TRADITIONAL INDIAN DHOTI KURTA....तब जाकर हम पूरी तरह से भारतीय लगेंगे।
I really love the inclusion of Aiye mere watan ke logo....specially when our Lataji, who sang it in 1963, today is fighting the battle of her well being in the hospital. Nothing more appropriate BUT removal of a tune simply bcs of its colonial origin, is shameful
By that logic, we should also remove our democratic constitution which was actually adopted from west?but If bjp did this, they will face backlash😂.
Adopting good things and blindly following customs of others are two different thing. There is no connection of “abide by me” with general public, while on other hand, when lataji sang this song, everyone literally everyone in the audience was crying including those who were listening this on radio. This song was the breath of fresh air in independent india. If you feel ashamed of your language,culture,people and ethinicity, then you are actually suffering from post-colonial syndrome. Get help.
I am not ashamed of myself being an Indian. Abide with me has lyrics which is meaningful just like Aiye mere watan ke logo. I am proud being an Indian and I am equally proud of my mother tongue, kannada. I need not certify my nationalism. Just that this Govt exhibits hatred towards the minorities and just before every election, such strategies of nationalism is adopted. I do not need yr suggestion to get any help. It's the mind set.....
All I mean to say is, if Abide with me is removed for colonial reasons as per the the original comment...then can we replace all the customs adopted from the colonial forces ? That's why, I opined my view. Constitution itself was also formed with the help of Ireland's Constitution.....
i m not even asking for your “indian” certificate. It is just you who felt “shameful” when a colonial mindset song which gets played in funeral/weddings of British kingdom got dropped out from our national day. Just imagine British song playing in one of the country they colonised where they treated natives like a street dogs.Secondly, if you are soo bothered about other “western” things prevailing in India, then why don’t india drop its constitution which is actually a copy of western one. Will you be happy with this? Will you accept this india without complaining about democratic constitution? That whats the difference i was talking between a good ideas and blind custom copying.
You are pissed with small things like uniform and instruments, but military uniform across the world is same with little changes and talking about instruments, it will soon be replaced by indian instruments like flute , drums and all. For that to happen, start appreciating rather complaining.
