My dishwasher door was really etched with detergent. I had rust all around the area of the water inlet. I tried the vinegar trick. Nothing, I tried Glisten. Nothing. I tried Barkeepers Friend just to try scrubbing to remove some of the rust and etching on the stainless steel door. It removed a little - but very little. And, I’ve used the BKF successfully to clean lots of things around my house. It works well most of the time.
✳️I tried the AFFRESH tablets. The AFFRESH product worked and I could drop it in while running a load of dirty dishes. Septic system safe. Recommended by my dishwasher manufacturer.
I used it several times and the Affresh tablet discolored a spot on the bottom of my dishwasher. (I think the tablets kept landing in the same spot.) So, now i put the tablet in the utensil basket. And, I don’t use it as frequently. It also removed the cloudiness on my drink glasses. i think I have another cleaner called Lemi-Shine and another bottle of Glisten. I need to use these up. But, my dishwasher hasn’t gotten as bad as it did before I tried Affresh.

This was helpful. I saw this project at the grocery store. As I was looking for a good product recommended by the dishwasher I use. I didn't find the one I was looking, for due to out of stock. I just checked to see if this one is safe for my type of dishwasher. I then found your awesome video. I have bought the product and I'm going to give it a try. I will update you on the results. Before I used the product. I did clean the filter of the bottom dishwasher. I haven't had a dishwasher before so it's all new to me. I understand how to clean a dishwasher now. Once a month deep clean. Thanks again for the helpful video.
