I've never been a fan of gray fabric and never felt inclined to use it. Donna, as usual, you have taken fabric that I find doubtful and made something gorgeous. I'm anxious to make this beautiful quilt!
Wouldn't it be great if we could organise a world wide 'fans of Donna Jordan' and have a meet up in grants pass, oregon! Yes I have had a couple of wines but I mean it xxx
You sure did this pattern justice. If I was to see this same pattern in a store I wouldn't consider it because of the choice of fabric colors they used. I have a hard time envisioning completely different tones I guess. The cream color you chose was also another great choice of tones to give the quilt yet another soft element. The quilt design you chose was an excellent choice I think because it echoes the soft theme of the quilt. It really is an outstanding quilt Donna, you should be quite proud..All your creations are fantastic but this one really sings!!
Thanks for showing this video again. I was fascinated as to how the blocks came together via the strips. It was a lot of work but the end result is stunning- i loved the neutral colours it gives more definition to the pattern and also to the shades.🌻
This quilt is just gorgeous. The colorway is so elegant, like lustrous grey and cream pearls. You have shown us what a dramatic difference color variations can make in a quilt design. The colorway on the pattern cover is very ordinary, nothing distinctive. Then by visualizing the possibilities of a neutral colorway, you turned the quilt into something spectacular. The colorway also gives this quilt a three-dimensional quality, like you're looking through a chain screen in front of the patchwork behind it.
Love the pattern as it combines an Irish Chain with a Log Cabin look, though I'd make it smaller. I'll figure it out for a 2" strip. As I've gotten older, I've given up on making large quilts for beds. I want to do this as a throw using batiks in creams and blue. Thanks for the video. Great instructions as usual.
I love to watch you sew, and I think you explain things very well. Did not think I would like this quilt, but after you finished it, I really did like it!
Thanks for all of your videos. I just found your channel and am watching a bunch of them. I love how you walk through everything, from picking fabric out all the way to the quilting design.
i love watching and listening to you So much fun I learn and change my techniques over time I recommend your channel to every quilter i know thank you for all you do for the quilting community you are a great inspiration
I thought I had this pattern but it turns out I didn’t so in the middle of watching this video, I went to your website and bought it as well as two others. I’ve bought more patterns than I’ll EVER use but it’s so fun looking through them as well as the jelly rolls I have. I have a couple of quilts I’ve made after watching your videos and buying the patterns. I’ll send pictures to you soon. Thanks again for ALL you do !
Nice tutorial, Donna and Matt. I am going through all the ones that you have made, and picking up a lot of explanations and tricks along the way! :-) You are an inspiration, Donna, I really like what you make and how clear are your explanations. Please don't stop making tutorials, I found myself waiting anxiously for new ones! :-)
I am thrilled with this quilt, bought the kit from Jorden Fabrics and it was perfetion. I was able to figure out where she got the quilting design from and now a really happy camper
I'm so psyched, I just purchased this material. I asked for this and Donna and Matt made it happen. Love it, thank you and you have a Cali customer for life
She owns a fabric store , so she has more than enough choices that she has no stress in what she might like or change her mind , love this quilt I smiled hope you don’t mind the comment
This message is for Matt. You do not know what it means to me to go to my computer, order a product from your company, get it in the mail and spend the afternoon quilting with a high quality product that has been cut with precision. Bliss. Thank you.
I really find this fabric and pat I find this fabric and pattern very striking would love to have this quilt ! Love your tutorials they help keep it simple for me . Blessings
Donna, I love your tutorials, you are an excellent teacher, right down to how to press seams. It makes for a quicker easier quilt. Thanks for sharing your expertise in quilting, makes my quilting a lot more fun.
Donna does such a great job with these tutorials. Such neat, well organized and well explained work. I always come away with more knowledge and feeling like I can do the project.
Elegantly subtle tones to make an equally elegant quilt. Love the way you explain your "whys" and the way you show little changes can make a world of difference in the end product.
Donna! So subtle and yet absolutely beautiful. The next time Matt needs to cover your ironing board, have him use a stripe that way you’ll have a built in yardstick.
Whoa, I really, really like your color pallet for this quilt! It’s just perfect. And the way you break down each block is awesome. Really makes it look easy 🙄. Thank you so much for all these wonderful tutorials!!!
I've been watching your videos for awhile commented here and there. One of your many tips I've wanted to use is the weight on ruler. Thought I'll buy one, one of these days this weekend I inherited a couple weights! Thanks Donna for the great tips and patterns.
This would be a perfect to use a small design board so its easy to transport to your sewing machine. Love that technique of staggering those strips for cutting.
Donna this is great. Normally I wouldn't give this pattern a second look. Thanks for opening my eyes on how much a different color way (or a neutral way) impacts the outcome. Cheers!
Hi... I made an Irish Chain quilt a while back...made it in blue and white. Loved it when finished. I think the one you just made was fantastic and the quilting really set it off. Will have to try the quilt pattern on one also. Thanks a lot for sharing this with us! Happy quilting.
Donna, you are so giving in your videos. My husband and I are going thru Grants Pass on our way to Idaho, I am hoping to stop and visit your shop. I just bought a new sewing machine, I lost 6 sewing machine in the Paradise fire, everything really. I hope you are in the shop when I come, I would love to meet you. Thanks so much for all you do for others, and of course your husband too.

Hello Donna, I have been watching your quilting UA-cam for the last few months and enjoying it very much. I was doing machine embroidery for over 20 years and had to give it up. At 76 I still love sewing and love watching how you do your quilts. Regards, Edna
This is a beautiful quilt! I am an artist, and color is vital in my quilt designs. But, this soft neutral quilt is simply stunning! Another quilt for me to make on the drawing board! Keep your tutorials coming; they are outstanding. Lindsay, Sacramento
I love all of your tutorials. This one is simply stunning. I love the way you laid it out with the creams on one side and grays on the other. The quilting pattern really made the quilt pop. I will have to add it to my collection. Thank you again for sharing!
Boy, I love this "Chain, Chain, Chain."The creams and soft grays look so elegant. My new favorite after watching the double ruffle tutorial. Your tutorials are great to see them, all of them. I'm surprised after learning with jelly rolls, too
YAY!!! Chains!! I've always wanted to do a chain quilt, this is lovely. The colors you have chosen and it's layout could almost make it mistaken for an Irish chain quilt - (my bucket list quilt) . I love how you guys do the giveaways, that is just so thoughtful and kind.
I'm a new person, been watching videos for the last month. Always thought making a quilt was long process but you have made me think I really would like to try this... Thanks for opening my eyes...
I Love this quilt. I've gotta share your website with my Son and Daughter in law n Hope's they will order me some jelly rolls for my birthday, Christmas and Mother's Day.
