Doesnt like the look of it? It's the best looking one to date for sure, I love it and this review has made me 100% sure this is my next car later on this year, ruby red is the colour for me 👌
Gair Henderson looks are always subjective but looks wise it’s grow on me so much and I do now love the look too so overall win win as I’m a huge fan of this car. It’s always made it into my Top 5 cars off the year against and with cars double the price of it and more. I’m so please the review has had this impact for you and truth be told I don’t blame you at all as quite simply put it is one of the best hot hatches ever made. Ruby red will be lovely too. Where are you based? UK? Please stick around and subscribe as all going well we’ll be doing more soon with the Focus ST and we’d love to have you on here. Thank you so much for watching and glad you liked the review 👌👍👍

Sorry to be so off topic but does any of you know a tool to log back into an Instagram account..? I was stupid forgot the login password. I love any help you can give me.
About that price: Ford seems to be giving good discounts for the ST, as they do with most of their cars. I went to the dealership (Romania) to see what kind of deal I'd get. They helped me spec up a petrol ST with every bell and whistle added aside from the sunroof and towing hook (don't think I missed anything else). So it went something like this: The list price for the _base_ petrol model was 29.5k EUR. Note that unlike in the UK, our base model is somewhere similar to the last generation's ST-2, so you still have some stuff to add (B&O system for example). You guys get the ST-3 directly. My configuration came in at 35.6k EUR list, but they said the car comes with a discount. The final price was 30.4k EUR. You'd be looking at something like 31k EUR if you also include the sunroof. That is a pretty aggressive price point, it's similar to the i30N in these parts and cheaper than the Megane RS. Way cheaper than the GTI too, which starts at 32k and comes with laughable kit on it. Same thing seems to be happening in Germany, dealerships are listing pre-configured variants ranging from 26k to 33k even though their configurator quote a staggering 39k for a full option model. I'm not sure why Ford are inflating their list prices so much, people say it's marketing but I don't think that makes sense. People seem to be put off by the initial pricing and ignore the car because of it. You have to walk into a dealership and ask to get the real price, which is more than weird. This car would receive significantly different reviews if the list price was actually accurate.
S couldn’t of put it better myself and I totally agree. I’ve already asked and been able to secure a quote for a massively loaded up one of these for only £31k which is right there with the cheaper loaded up hot hatches so that coupled with the fact this is a ridiculously good car that’s got thing on it even 40k hot hatches haven’t if it can be had for anywhere near 30-32k loaded which is seems to be it’s a performance bargain. Thanks for your spot on comment and please stick around and subscribe as it would be great to have you on board 😃🙌
I've always been a fan of Fords, especially the st and rs focus's. I've seen a few reviews on this generation of the st and some of them have been fairly negative and very picky. But your review is great! Thank you for sharing it! :D
Same here love them, Ford know how to make a fast fun car, this really has upped the game for the Focus ST again and really taken it on, runs any hot hatch close for the crown. That’s really kind and I appreciate the kind words, please stick around and subscribe as we really need more people like you about for sure. You are very welcome, thank you so much or the kind words and for watching.
Picking my black one up today! It was a totally spontaneous purchase. Was going to get the RS3 but the insurance was way too expensive! The Focus ST shocked me at the power, I didn't see much difference to the RS3. Great fun!
William Wills absolutely good on you fella, as a driving machine this really is up there with the best of the best so well done for going with one. You’ll love it and yeah I was the same, couldn’t believe how well it pulled 🤙👍👌🙌😎 thanks for watching fella and please stick around and subscribe as it’ll be great to have you on here 👍👍
William Wills ah thank you so so much fella, really appreciate it. Yes 100% we will be doing more and more with Ford UK so will always be driving and reviewing anything fast and flagship 👍
Just had a battle today in my e46 M3 with one of these. It lost. And my son was driving my car. To be honest... i was surprised. I didn't know the latest ST was this powerful. I'm not into the new cars as i was a few years ago. I thought it only had about 240/250hp, but it kind of gave us a hard time. But not really.
Bez ah no these now have proper hot hatch bhp figures 280bhp at that and it’s the way modern cars also produce those speeds and numbers. Yeah there no surprise it lost to you but it’s understandable it would give you a little bit of a hard time. If it was mapped it would likely be on pace or slightly quicker than you which is insane. Lovely car the E46 M3 with quite simply a sublime chassis. Thanks for watching fella I really appreciate it, we do loads with BMW UK and BMW’s in general so please stick around and subscribe as it would be great to have you 👍😎
Looking at getting one of these as an upgrade on my 2014 F56 Cooper S with JCW bodykit. This review was very insightful and. Had helped me out. Keep up the good work. Booking a test drive in a white one this Friday, but might look for Black or Dark Grey...
Squiz _ thank you so so much it honestly means so much to hear people say that. Please let me know how you get on and certainly subscribe stick around as it’ll be great to have you on here. Honestly it’s one of the best cars ever made and you’ll love it. Make sure you give it a good run and take it out for a good amount of time. Let me know and again honestly thank you so so much for the kind words 👍👌😎
I bought one on release, magnetic colour. I had the previous ST before it and they are night and day. The new one feels so much better. I was not sure about the looks on the front end at first, but it grows on you. The only niggle I have is washing the front wheels on the inside lol. The brake calliper is so big, its hard to get your hand in there to clean it. So if that is all I have to complain about, its nothing.
Andrew West that’s just it, it suits certain colours and yep I’ve now seen the magnetic grey colour and it would 100% be the colour i’d buy it in. I actually really like it in that colour. Thats great to hear first hand from a buyer the good words and I definitely loved my drive in this car. Thanks so much for watching too fella, please stick around and subscribe as it’ll be great to have you on board also.
Peter Righart 2.3 petrol or diesel? I didn’t realise people had taken orders so early nice one. Yeah I totally agree it’s an epic epic car, bet you can tell from the last 2 mins of the vid, I can definitely say I’m a fan 👍
Peter Righart damn that’s epic nice one fella, hopefully be getting one at a later date from Ford for a longer period of time 👍 can’t wait! Totally love this car and rate it so highly 😎
The last ST was a 2 litre, they only used the 2.3 in the RS. Anyway, it is a massive improvement on the previous ST where they just put a powerful engine in the car and thought that would be enough, I'm loving driving the new one and I've only just got past the run in so I haven't even really pushed it properly yet. Also, the black one doesn't look as good because it just looks like an ST Line, because you can't see the different colours on the front bumper, definitely happy that I specced the Performance Pack as well, just adds to a really, really good car.
But yeah huge improvement for sure, where are you based Clayton? Yeah Performance pack is a must imo too. What colour did you go for? I was so impressed with it and it made my top 5 cars for 2019 👍
No, not at all, the last ST released was only ever a 2l, they didn't produce the 2.3l till they brought out the new Mustang, and then they only used the 2.3l in the mk3 Focus RS.
I've gone for the Orange Fury and I think it looks brilliant, and sounds good too which is a massive plus compared to the last ST. Just a much better car all round really. I live in Essex mate.
clayton1802 I never reviewed one so can directly comment for sure but there seems to be loads of reviews and documentation of the 2.3 in the Focus ST that was also my understanding too but I’m not saying I’m right at all.
Hi there at peak performance, just watched this video, tbh, yours has probably been the best, I've had 2estate versions, but going back to hatch, ordered, and hope to have it in a couple weeks(covid 19)doesnt help. OK onto some points Yes it's expensive, but your getting a whole new car(compared to my 67reg)totaly different, so cost speaks for itself, colour options, I've ordered performance blue,, black, white, race red, Ruby red all blend into the back ground, I'm not saying there not nice, orange fury, I think personally I'd get fed up with it after 3mths, metallic grey is probably the wrong choice as the the whole car blends into one. The car is brilliant, can't wait. As always these are my opinions. Good work.
Thank you so so much for the kind words that means a lot to hear that kind of compliments, it’s funny because I totally agree with what you say about the price, if you rewatch you can see that from the start of the vid I feel like this car could be overpriced but at the end I actually say it’s actually kinda great value. That sounds great fella and I really hope you get it soon I was so impressed. Did you go with any other options? Please stick around and subscribe as it’ll be great to have you on here 👍👍
@@PeakPerformanceReviews I added the performance pack as well, I fancied the pan roof but it looks a bit messy from the outside when fully opened. Imo.
Iain Rae brill glad you added the performance pack for me well worth it. Yeah I totally get what your saying with the pano roof. Hope it doesn’t take long, let me know when you get it 👍

There's quite an emphasis on price. If price is important, buy when other people aren't buying and you'll get a bigger discount. December for example...
Yep 👍 totally agree, to be honest from all I’m hearing so far is you can get some mega deals on this car that’ll make it an absolute bargain 👍👌🙌😎 absolutely loved it too 👌
@@PeakPerformanceReviews Yeah, had a test drive last week and was impressed. My first Focus ST was a 2013 model and I didn't like the torque steering; my 2017 ST is less scary. The new one sounds better and I liked the rev matching. The new handbrake will take some getting used to, but I'm up for it.
You can argue 32k but remember Ford aren’t about “premium” interiors. You’re paying for the mechanicals. They choose to spend the money where it matters and that’s the oily bits! It probably drives better than most performance hatchbacks.
Beard Mechanix 100% totally agree. I just had to be a question I always wanted to answer for people watching as I knew it was the question on so many people lips and if you see right at the end my summarisation sums it up nicely and I definitely believe it is worth, mega car.

Like you eloquently said it ranks with the best of the hot hatches 👍🏻 The colour combo I personally liked however I am not perfect I like ford blues🙏 great review
Ralph Smallblock thanks so much for the kind comments again, it’s grow on me so much just like the Fiesta ST MK8 now also and with the right spec and colour combo it makes for one of the best hit hatches out there for sure 👍🙌
Thank you so much for the kind words. It’s a very old review so look much more amateurish from my latest review but I presume you mean a 1.6 MK8 Fiesta ST 180? If yes it’s here - ua-cam.com/video/a0Tl8GIw3nI/v-deo.html
Here is some track footage, we owned one and had it for about 3-4 years, we also had a MK8 for a weeks loan and have reviewed one of those also and had one out on track too - ua-cam.com/video/WFto_hlIgT8/v-deo.html

It truly is a hot hatch now, seriously quick car but yep the RS will be insane, that being said it imo always loses the driver focus feel because it’ll be AWD again I suspect.
Everything Tech & New if only, unfortunately it looks likely or so I’m told there may never be another Focus RS ever again, so this may be the last focus Hot hatch ... well unless they make a new gen ST.... I hope I’m wrong but it sounds likely. The PS4 is such a good tyre I’m glad you like, it’s hard to beat. Which Cupra have you got, there brilliant cars. Thanks for watching also, please stick around and subscribe if you haven’t already as it’ll be great to have you on here
Peak Performance Reviews That’s a real a shame the RS brand is part of Ford’s DNA. I’ve got the 2019 Leon Cupra 290 with the copper rebrand & love it. I added the sunroof & side skirts which completes the look in my eyes. I’ve covered just under 26k in it & enjoyed every mile. I’d love to get an RS at some point. I’ve subbed, I come across this last night searching RS funnily enough. I’ve always liked the ST an excellent car also.
Everything Tech & New yeah it’s a shame, if you go with a MK3 focus RS I think you may miss your Cupra. The RS is amazing but the playfulness of a goof 2wd hot hatch is hard to beat. Ah thanks for subscribing and watching fella I really appreciate it. What colour did you go for? Sounds very nice 👍👌😎
Thanks fella really appreciate the kind words. Please stick around and subscribe as it would be great to have you around. I tend to agree, however this chassis is on another level against it.
Got one it’s a beast, why get so fixated with price when everyone buys on a pcp, so it’s monthly cost rather than list price, otherwise no one would buy a merc or bmw would they ?
R D totally get it and that’s why I summarise how I do at the end, totally agree. Brilliant, brilliant car 👌👍 how long have you owned it for? Thanks for watching fella 👌👍🙌
280bhp will be the sweet spot for fwd set up. On the plus side a remap will yield silly gains because will only be a software change to de tune the car.
I thought the 2.3L ST engine was just a detuned Mustang version of the engine rather than the reinforced RS version with strengthened internals etc. So a remap might not take it up to RS levels but rather 315/base Mustang levels??
@@andyhopkins7384 the RS engine isn't strengthened at all in comparison to the mustang. Look to the reliability problems with the RS engines and tuners have a hard time pushing up to 400bhp before needing forged internals. I mean 345bhp is still impressive for a 4cyl but I really wouldn't want to take it any higher on the ST, just asking for torque steer. I had a mk1 focus rs to 300bhp and that was just silly looking back lol
@@andyhopkins7384 fully depends on the turbo that's fitted to the ST. The internals are basically the same as the RS as john jackson said, but if there's a smaller turbo inside it won't be able to make the 345HP of the RS just off a remap.
Anthony Kelmann hello fella, firstly thanks for watching we really appreciate you taking the time to watch. I’ve driven all 3 and I’ll say it how it is summarised. It feels better and more fun to drive than the Megane RS 300 it’s better than a golf gti too and about as good if not a tiny bit better than even the Golf GTi TCR which is a huge accolade. It is considerably better than the Subaru WRX (if you’re talking latest gen) as the Subaru would definitely be bottom of the pile for me. I often or nearly base my thoughts on driving dynamics and fun. I think on track the Megane would be close but this would edge it and you’d be having more fun. It would beat all the other you spoke of on track although I do still love the GTi too.
Anthony Kelmann again thanks for watching and please stick around and subscribe as it’s always good to have people like yourself on board that comment and get involved 👌👍
@@PeakPerformanceReviews Thank you for your reply. I'll take a very close look when it arrives here in Australia early in 2020. I test drove Renault Megane RS280 and was not impressed.
Anthony Kelmann I’ll be honest with you the driving feel of the Megane is not really for me either so I’m with you on that. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed with this so please stick around and let me know what you think when you finally get to try it 👍👌😎 Thanks so much for watching 🙌
Thanks. I saw your review on Renault Megane RS300 Trophy, which hasn't arrived in Australia yet. The RS280 did not feel powerful. I reckon the Ford looks pretty good in orange-yellow paint. In Australia the Focus ST is priced at 24000GBP for manual and auto (without paint or sunroof). That's not bad buying. Hot hatches are priced OK here but higher end sports cars like BMW M cars cop a price gouge. Thanks for your review. I'll look out for more!
Would love to see you test drive the Ford focus ST Line X 125bhp 2019. I want to buy one, but I hear they armre not worth it due to hoe slow it is and feels like your driving an empty tin can
I wish I had time to drive all models of cars but there just isn’t enough time. What I do know is they all have great chassis so I’m sure it would be great too but it would depend if the power would be enough for you. What cars have you been used to? You can remap them upto 150bhp very easily and even about 170bhp and with that you would have a potent fun car.
@@PeakPerformanceReviews Hi. Thanks for replying. I've got at the moment a ford focus Zetec TDCI 1.5 2015 desiel. Wanted an St X with at least a 150 BHP but the one I'm looking at is a ford focus ST line X 2019 125 bhp.
@@heliusuk you are very welcome, I’ll look to do a review possibly at a later date, rest assured the chassis is amazing and with a re map it would be so so good with 150-175bhp thanks for watching please stick around and subscribe as it’ll be great to have you around
I like it but how stiff is stiff? 40% more than Fiesta ST what !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Im in my mid 40s and UK roads are pitted to hell. I need compliance, can it be a daily?
Chassis stiffness and ride stiffness and suspension if a whole different thing, this is in the chassis not the ride/suspension so won’t effect the comfort as such. Often the torsional stiffness or torsional rigidity of a car chassis is measured. It is usually measured in units of Nm/deg or lb-ft/deg. For performance cars this stiffness number is very important. It is a measure of how much the chassis will twist under the loads transferred to it from the suspension. It can be, I would say though if you don’t like a relatively hard ish ride it may not be for you. What have you been used to? What cars have you had?
I believe anti lag and Rev match is a Performance pack thing, I tried to confirm this and it’s so hard to confirm. Thanks for watching, are you thinking of getting one?
@@marley6682 I wouldn’t let it put you off. It’s a nice feature but the car alone is so epic. Beautiful to drive and so nimble. Where are you in the UK? Thanks for watching, please stick around as it’ll be great to have you around on here 🙌❤️😎
Always enjoy your driving as you seem to be home in more minimal set up cars like no awd as it takes away from the unknown proper ⛽️ 👨 here in North America ford is going to delete there car line up and just have trucks suv e mustang and mustangs. The car culture here is unfortunately trucks and straight line speed I love your videos as your usually side ways somewhere😎👍🏻
Ralph Smallblock thank you so much, it seems your not going to be the only country like that but I must say I’m super thankful that the UK love having these kind of cars around. Long may it continue I hope 👍👌
Peak Performance Reviews it definitely will as Europe may be smaller but technically challenging driving as your roads are far from straight and Europe is full off mountains and tricky tight technical roads that⛽️👨’s like our selves enjoy all day every day. I hope one day to drive along side with you in are own cars as I enjoy your driving style very methodical fast and consistent pleasure to watch so that’s my bucket list✌️Alex
david brady the chassis is one tiny step better on this I would say but overall very close. The interior on the Golf is still better. The golf runs this very close but wow this is good. Thanks for watching David 👍🙌😎
Literally noone is gonna pay anything close to 32.000gbp for a base model ST, in reality that will give you a pretty much fully loaded one at your dealership. I got a fully loaded ST-Edition for 32.300.
I totally agree, nothing more than stating retail, good to hear more so from someone that has bought one 🙌👍 absolutely frigging love the car so that’s great to hear. What colour did you go for?
@@PeakPerformanceReviews The ST Edition comes in a new blue, I think it's the same blue that was on the old RS, just as a solid colour and not metallic. Looks pretty awesome in person. Though personally I also love the blue shown in the video. 😁
Probably more than stated in the bio now but this was some time ago …. No I didn’t miss the joke ….. well not really but hey ho. If that’s what your trying to say? Anyways thanks for watching 😆👌
Chris Mullin very different car, the Focus different feels bigger and more grown up but a great car to potentially size up to if you need a bigger car. The Fiesta is still more fun but it is hard to beat but I don’t really put much above the Fiesta as a fun darty car but it’s a brilliant progression and certainly would be a cracking car and platform to upgrade too. It’s definitely one of the best chassis out there not and feels super focused and much more raw than the last gen and a huge huge amount better than ever before. It’s that good it’s better than a RS let’s put it like that. Rolling imo it is around as quick as an RS and I’d love to pitch one against one. I suspect the next gen RS will be amazing but my word it’s going to be expensive I reckon. Thanks for watching fella and if you haven’t subscribed it would be great to have you on board.
Just seen the comments great bunch of subscribers you have mate. Love the subtle look of it same as golf r S3 etc.never been a fan of type r styling or the like. Performance wise on normal British road suchwhich is the quicker car as in off the lights in gear onto a motor way etc.this or something like the golf r a35 s3.forget price difference.cheers all the best
Steve Bleas it’s only available in a 6 speed manual gearbox, certainly here in the UK anyway 👍 thanks for watching Steve. If you have anymore questions feel free to fire them at us.
Steve Bleas yeah I think people in Britain are still holding on to the Manual and still just about getting them before everything goes Auto. To be honest it has such a good chassis I don’t think it’ll be too much too worry about your going to love it as it really is outstanding. Where about’s in Australia are you and what do you drive at the moment?
Peak Performance Reviews yeah it seems as though it’s the biggest jump from MK3- to this Mk4. Geese I owned an XR5 Turbo which was a great car back then. This definitely looks like a great all round package. Price though is bit high. Full optioned will come in over 50k AUD
Steve Bleas ah yes the XR5 is like our MK2 focus RS shape essentially I believe we don’t get the XR5 or never did here. Honestly it really is such a great allrounder, the price seems high but dealers certainly here are giving great dealer discounts when you actually haggle here so I’m hearing of some really good deals so honestly go check that out and push for a good deal. Thank you so much for watching too, please stick around and subscribe as it’s great to have subscribers from your neck of the world more so as we need people like you that talk and are interested in commenting etc. What colour would you get?
Haider Sohail as a fun dynamic car this is better, it just feels more sure footed and sharp. Less chassis roll and general better chassis. With this car it’s the chassis keeping the car dialled in and not an AWD platform doing the work. For that reason this feels more fun and would be more capable also.
Andrew West if only, it was a manufacturer test day were media bods get invited to drive multiple vehicles. It also means that so many people would have gone in it before I got to it. We then have the car for about 45 minutes and I wouldn’t have had time to clean it before going out 😢 I totally agree however but unfortunately would never of been able to do it.
Rick G haha thanks fella! I like to think tit shouldn’t ruin the review too much so thanks mate, appreciate the kind words. We’re gonna try and do more with this car another day with Ford UK so stick around and subscribe as we need more people like you on here. Mate you have an epic car c ok OMG it’s amazing 👍👌🙌 proper weapon.
Volkswagen audi group (VAG) basically they do know how to still make a fun AWD car thankfully .... however they aren’t cheap .... well the higher end brands in that range aren’t anyway. Thanks for watching Mike hope you enjoyed 👍👍
Imo now this or the Honda FK8, If I had to be super honest the FK8 is the best but this is the first car to genuinely run it close and for that reason I could easy understand someone going for this over one. For that reason if you were say to prefer the look of this I would buy this in a heartbeat it’s a ridiculously good car. That being said from what I’m hearing better deals can be had on this so this would end up being the better value car of them both.
It's not the best looking car ever but it's always gonna look better than a golf🙄 I think Ford can only justify the price cos of the new tech it has but it was good before the new toys 🤔
MikeJ H I think the last gen Focus ST was good but now its great, I’m not a fan of its looks but it’s so good like the Civic Type R I really don’t care 👍👌😎🙌
@@PeakPerformanceReviews the focus a hot hatch just lol but the civic that's huge I have been I a couple of new type r now those looks I was a bit embarrassed on the road lol its a bit too much
The price is not real, as always with Ford. I got a quote back from my dealership where I live, and said the list price for the specs I wanted was 35.6k EUR but there's a discount so the final price was 30.4k EUR. That's definitely a good price.
Its got the performance, but my god its a boring looking car, i had a look at one the other week, it is over priced and looks like a standard focus, great review.

32K is just inflation and the going rate nowadays. 20 years ago a top of the range V6 Cougar was 22K and that had nowhere near the technological advances or perfromance of this car.
The problem is that it's more expensive than the RS when that came out, leon cupra 300, megane RS and similar price to a civic type r and golf r both of which are more capable. I've owned a few fast ford's and really like this ST but as it sits it's just too expensive
@@Cougarsamurai I think there will be heavy discounts in a few years. I also think this is going to be a modders dream. If a remap can take this to 350bhp like the RS then will be very desirable. I owned a mk1 RS and mk2 ST focus and think this looks better than both of those. Certainly more grown up but then I've aged a fair bit since owning those as well lol
Cougarsamurai to be honest that’s very true I’d say a large portion is the inflation and it is really starting to hit cars and the other is the sheer volume of cool stuff they have put on the car. Like I said at the end of the video I was actually agreeing and saying that it’s about right when you really think about it 👍
john jackson yeah that’s just it, that being said I think it’s because we’re about to get price hikes with all manufacturers soon. It’s like what I said in my review for the A35AMG it’s a mega bargain and for what you get people should also jump on that. I reckon it’ll be 40k next year base price. I reckon the new RS will be about 38-40k
I have to say I do think they could have made it a bit wilder for sure. A MK8 FST would not be a million miles off for sure but this would probably just have the legs.
Best review on UA-cam I’m getting mine in performance blue next week.

So it went something like this:
The list price for the _base_ petrol model was 29.5k EUR.
Peak Performance Reviews awesome! Picked up my car and my god
It goes, can’t stop looking at it aha
William Wills I bet bud, the looks have massively grown on me too. Such a complete car that can be daily driven.
Where are you based? Uk?

Saw that Magnetic Grey colour in person. That colour is a thing of beauty, there's something different about the way it shines.
Great video! I’m seriously looking at getting one of these as I miss my MK2 2.5 ST-2 👍
Thank you so much, you really should, honestly it’s one of the best driving cars out there today 🙌👍😎
Had mine around 2 months now I bought a black one, absolute machine
Peter Righart 2.3 petrol or diesel? I didn’t realise people had taken orders so early nice one. Yeah I totally agree it’s an epic epic car, bet you can tell from the last 2 mins of the vid, I can definitely say I’m a fan 👍
Peak Performance Reviews petrol mate I used to work at ford so I got the heads up on the first day the books opened for orders
I think in the UK the 2.3 was briefly used - www.autoexpress.co.uk/ford/focus/106937/new-ford-focus-st-2019-review
Nice looking. Shame it has an electronic handbrake though, at least the fiesta still uses manual ones
Yeah one of the only things I can fault it on tbh, thanks for watching fella hope you enjoyed
Hi there at peak performance, just watched this video, tbh, yours has probably been the best, I've had 2estate versions, but going back to hatch, ordered, and hope to have it in a couple weeks(covid 19)doesnt help. OK onto some points
Yes it's expensive, but your getting a whole new car(compared to my 67reg)totaly different, so cost speaks for itself, colour options, I've ordered performance blue,, black, white, race red, Ruby red all blend into the back ground, I'm not saying there not nice, orange fury, I think personally I'd get fed up with it after 3mths, metallic grey is probably the wrong choice as the the whole car blends into one.
Imo.

Koli06 awesome, glad you like it too, steering feel and everything is vastly now improved. Yep the handbrake takes some getting used to for sure 👌👍
I think possibly the engine is derived from the Mazda 3 MPS engine, massively re engineered of course with inprovements with time
This is true and is correct 🙌👌
You can argue 32k but remember Ford aren’t about “premium” interiors. You’re paying for the mechanicals. They choose to spend the money where it matters and that’s the oily bits! It probably drives better than most performance hatchbacks.
Beard Mechanix 100% totally agree. I just had to be a question I always wanted to answer for people watching as I knew it was the question on so many people lips and if you see right at the end my summarisation sums it up nicely and I definitely believe it is worth, mega car.

The proportions looks good nice sports car not overly done. Just right as the saying goes are you going to bark all day or are you going to bite. Great review. Can't you review the Petrol 1.2 Petrol ST 182 BHP I want to buy one this week.

This ST is a hot hatch, what is the RS version gonna be??
It truly is a hot hatch now, seriously quick car but yep the RS will be insane, that being said it imo always loses the driver focus feel because it’ll be AWD again I suspect.
Looks great, really hope Ford release an RS. I’ve just put Pilot Sport 4’s on my Cupra and can confirm awesome tyre.
Peak Performance Reviews Yeah Cupra’s definitely a fun car. I went for nevada white with black pan roof, great combo with stock wheels. 👍
Everything Tech & New lovely combo that sounds, I love them in white too 👍
Very good review, still think the previous generation was better looking.
Fuck PCP. You get one scratch on it and they rob you. All that money for something you don't own?
@@stephenmurray2851 Why would you want to buy something that depreciates so heavily? Doesn't make sense.
Anyone still buy on PCP? Or cash buy?
Is it the same 2.3 as the Mk3 RS? If so, I wonder why they detuned it to 280hp from 345hp? Drivability and wheelspin maybe?
280bhp will be the sweet spot for fwd set up. On the plus side a remap will yield silly gains because will only be a software change to de tune the car.
Sounds like it will be a bit of a handful with just a remap then.
What colour is that called?
Hello Busby it’s called Ford Performance Blue 🙌
Thanks for watching hope you enjoyed 😎
How does it compare to Renault Megane RS, VW Golf GTI and Subaru WRX?
I don’t think you’ll be disappointed with this so please stick around and let me know what you think when you finally get to try it 👍👌😎
Thanks so much for watching 🙌

What’s the base price mate? You haven’t mentioned it much!
£99000 less import duty + taxes and customs and waste tax
It’s mainly in the chassis, I found the Focus ST to be a very rounded car and I would massively rate it for daily use personally.
is rev matching just with the performance pack?
I believe anti lag and Rev match is a Performance pack thing, I tried to confirm this and it’s so hard to confirm.
Thanks for watching, are you thinking of getting one?
@@PeakPerformanceReviews looking for a hot hatch around the 25k mark and the st ive found doesnt have performance pack so its a tricky one haha.

Ralph Smallblock that would be awesome and I’d be honoured 👍👍
how do you compare it to the golf gti tcr?
david brady the chassis is one tiny step better on this I would say but overall very close.

Infact i am more than happy to put my car against the stock mk 4
Is your car standard too? I’ll see if I can get one and we can line them up.

How does it compare to Fiesta ST mk8?

Is the auto dual clutch or single?
Steve Bleas it’s only available in a 6 speed manual gearbox, certainly here in the UK anyway 👍 thanks for watching Steve.
If you have anymore questions feel free to fire them at us.
Peak Performance Reviews oh that’s a bummer! We are getting an auto but not sure if it’s single or dual clutch here in Australia!
Why wouldn’t you buy the previous gen Focus RS over this??
Haider Sohail as a fun dynamic car this is better, it just feels more sure footed and sharp. Less chassis roll and general better chassis. With this car it’s the chassis keeping the car dialled in and not an AWD platform doing the work. For that reason this feels more fun and would be more capable also.
@@PeakPerformanceReviews Interesting....
The interior is a massive step up also. With a simple remap I'm sure you will gain huge power from the 2.3 powerplant
Haider Sohail also reliability is proving to be fairly poor on the RS’s
john jackson yep agreed. Can’t wait to see what kind of power the’ll make with a few basic bolts ons and a map... or even just a map 👍
How much is it
Elephant in the room wasn’t it 😆
Should have washed and vacuumed it before the review, it lessens the impact of what is a nice car
Rick G mate tell me about it, we didn’t have a time to do anything and I couldn’t believe it when I got in 😩
Rick G haha thanks fella!
Rick G thank you so much, ah mega sounds epic your gonna love it. Best Focus ST ever it has everything you’d want in a hot hatch! Mega mega choice 👌🙌😎
Rick G thank you so much Rick
What he say when he coughed
Volkswagen audi group (VAG) basically they do know how to still make a fun AWD car thankfully .... however they aren’t cheap .... well the higher end brands in that range aren’t anyway. Thanks for watching Mike hope you enjoyed 👍👍
@@PeakPerformanceReviews you're opinion what's the best in tha price range
Imo now this or the Honda FK8, If I had to be super honest the FK8 is the best but this is the first car to genuinely run it close and for that reason I could easy understand someone going for this over one. For that reason if you were say to prefer the look of this I would buy this in a heartbeat it’s a ridiculously good car. That being said from what I’m hearing better deals can be had on this so this would end up being the better value car of them both.
Hard to beat the fords👍
Gerry Days gotta love em 👍
Nah, Mercedes and Audi beat them just on looks itself
m ws depends on which ones against which cars. That being said as always looks are subjective at the end of the day.
m ws audis all look the same mercs are for old men with pipe and slippers 😂😂😂😂
Gerry Days uh oh what have we started haha lol ..... play nicely fellas haha 😂
I’ll wait 10 year
Kieran 17 will be a great buy for sure 👍
It's not the best looking car ever but it's always gonna look better than a golf🙄
I think Ford can only justify the price cos of the new tech it has but it was good before the new toys 🤔
MikeJ H I think the last gen Focus ST was good but now its great, I’m not a fan of its looks but it’s so good like the Civic Type R I really don’t care 👍👌😎🙌
@@PeakPerformanceReviews the focus a hot hatch just lol but the civic that's huge I have been I a couple of new type r now those looks I was a bit embarrassed on the road lol its a bit too much
MikeJ H it’s now imo is definitely officially a hot hatch. CTR Is loud and proud and very .... odd looking .... but still super cool none the less
The price is not real, as always with Ford. I got a quote back from my dealership where I live, and said the list price for the specs I wanted was 35.6k EUR but there's a discount so the final price was 30.4k EUR. That's definitely a good price.
@@xIcarus227 that's a good deal
Car is nice
Dean Husband thanks Dean we loved it 👍👌❤️
It’s detrimental, mate.😉
Simonize41 I’m not quite sure what you mean? Please elaborate?
Its got the performance, but my god its a boring looking car, i had a look at one the other week, it is over priced and looks like a standard focus, great review.
Colin Groves I really wish it did look a bit more exciting I must admit too.
Thank you so much for the kind words, definitely glad you liked the review 👍👌🙌

Colin Groves thank you so much I honestly really appreciate it 😎
top
Rafael Viegas started from the bottom now we’re here “top” haha thanks for commenting Rafael always great to know your still watching ❤️
@@PeakPerformanceReviews The comment was small, but it summed up my opinion of the vehicle in one word: TOP ... lol Here in Brazil we use the word TOP as a synonym for magnificent, excellent, very good ... etc. ie something that is on top ... kkkkkkkkk
Rafael Viegas ah that’s mega, it’s kinda the same here in England but I always notice some people use the word to bump posts and vids which we love haha! But that’s Top ❤️ thanks fella 👌😎

@@johnjackson12 Be interesting to see how they hold their value.
1 year old, £18k
david appleyard I don’t think quite so low ..... but I’d be all over that if it is going to be the case 👍
Looks so boring! Just doesn’t look like a performance car 👎think my mk 3 st will keep up with this crap
I have to say I do think they could have made it a bit wilder for sure. A MK8 FST would not be a million miles off for sure but this would probably just have the legs.
Keep taking the tablets pal
