With the track record of Karim and Joe, I was so happy for Janette when they were paired. All my prayers were answered! I love Janette, and she's been getting some poorer years lately. But now she's struck gold! Hopefully she'll make it to the finals! Justice for her!!

I have FAITH that this year is going to be better than ever. I thought I saw everything with Maisie but this has just as much if not a little more. Technique is mostly great, energy never dipped and the choreo was insanely good. In some incidences he may have looked a little flat footed but that’s me being extremely picky

Ok I was loving this, you can tell Hrvy was loving it and I think that's what made me so excited and energetic about the dance. I really do think they deserved the scores they got and I hope Janette gets her first finale because I have FAITH (aha I know i'm really funny) that they are gonna make it!
I hope she does. The other two times she got first on the leaderboard on Week 1 (Aston and Peter), she didn't make it to the final unfortunately. However, I have a feeling that this year might be different. Fingers crossed.
I legit went "What" out loud at 1:14. I think this might be the best Week 1 Jive I have ever seen, I was NOT expecting that at all. Highlight of the night for me!

The only thing that can fix 2020 is Janette making her first final. The woman hella deserves and Hrvy is good. He got a 9, the first time in week one for a long time (even Kelvin didn’t get a 9, although he did deserve it and I’m sorry Motsi but Kelvin was definitely better). I think he will be better at Latin but that doesn’t mean he won’t be fab at ballroom too!
It’s really about opinion. When I watched Kelvin last year, I was very impressed, especially since he had such short notice. I completely expected Maisie’s to be good, she’d already shown her ability and great hip movement. When I watched this however, I was just in shock the whole time. I am almost certain that Bruno would have also given this a 9 too
Personally I much preferred this to Kelvin. Smashed the jive! I think Hrvy would be the right partner for Janette to win with- she hasn’t had anyone as good as him before, except Aston at his best but I think her choreography has improved since then. This is the right pairing
@j4Rose I wouldn’t say bad but even in Latin I feel she has given them too much choreography in an attempt to show them off, where sometimes less is more. What impressed me most was how mature Hrvy is when he dances- it adds years where he comes across as very young when he’s talking. That shows real leadership and acting ability
@j4Rose she’s not bad, her latin is just the best on the show for latin (maybe Oti’s samba’s are on par but that’s it), so it doesn’t quite compare and she’s had some great ballroom dances: Aston’s foxtrot and quickstep, Jake wood’s American smooth and her Viennese waltz with Peter where all great

I'm not usually a big fan of Janette's choreography; but, I really did like this one. Lots of jive steps, and they were done really well. The standards are high this year, much higher than DWTS imo. Well done.

First 9 in strictly week 1 history I believe in Latin, thanks for correcting me, (got it horribly wrong there’s been a handful) but this deserved it. Janette is surely getting to the final or at least making it to musical week with THIS! An 8!
Zoe ball got 3 9’s actually in week 1 and there have been a few others but it’s the first in a very long time yes

Those Legs were all over the place, but were so delicately placed. Timing, Precision & Accuracy all on point. A superb lineup this year, looking forward to the competition, everyone showed great potential, but HRVY's dance 😘👌🏻

The amount of times I have watched this. I am so proud of Harv. I was watching it on the yesterday with my family and the amount of joy I felt when he got such a good score
So I had a LOT of high expections for HRVY going into this....and they were met for sure. I am actually surprised he has no previous dance experience, cuz especially with those kicks and flicks. That may be one of the best week 1 jives I've seen in a long while. (8)

I'm in Australia and saw this by accident. Now I can't stop watching it - it's addictive and uplifting. I had never heard of HRVY but knew Janette from SYTYCD. What a pairing!! Entertainment plus and energy on steroids. Everything dancing should be and more !!!

Oh YES! Finals material EASILY! Second best dance of the night right under Maisie! HRVY had amazing bounce and retraction, and dancing is clearly SO natural for him. There was a couple of moments with some sloppy kicks and toes because of the speed, but Janette DESERVES to go all the way with him. I can wait to see what he might have up his sleeve! 8!
