@@Spac6023 I feel ya the zaku parts are much more affordable. I have the case and router. My builds a z490 so I didn't get the b550 mobo. There is also a aio but I use air cooling. Newegg has the monitors for the builds and it comes with a shirt and a mug. Same with the zaku router with its free t shirt

Not even a Gundam fan, but this is one of the coolest builds I’ve seen in quite literally years. The fully co-ordinated peripherals absolutely make it. Also seriously hyped to see you guys doing build videos again! Return of the king(s).

I JUST finished a custom build for myself (a custom PC and a ReZEL Type C actually) and now I am wishing I had known about this stuff before hand

He looks like the kind of person who thinks that anything that is not like The Walking Dead, Game of Thrones, or Breaking Bad looks weird. This is like a Nerd that only plays Trading Card Games comes up to you and trys to tell you how much "he knows" about his Nikes but never touch a Basketball a single time in his life. I worked at Big 5 and I hate all Sports except Skateboarding, MMA , and Boxing so me trying to sell you anything in that store made me look like a loser and so does Jay during this entire video.

Nvm, I am confusing the color of Metals with the Paint job of the Gundams, =D
Though, Gundams are many Colors, & White isn't the only part, so it seems fine
that a Red or Black Cable is used inside, even if it might be a bit tad off in specs.
Though, there was an all White Build a ways back? & I do remember I think even the
Cables were white, am I wrong? It was a Rig that Linus Tech Tips did, no?

Jay keeps mentioning all the details that are hidden and no one will see when the computer is built. That's totally Bandai's thing. You see it with the cheaper kits too, but especially with certain master grade kits (I still argue he got too cheap of a kit considering the type of modeling Jay does). The articulated details on the innermost frame pieces that will never be exposed are insane. Attention to every detail. Good work by Asus. Clearly this was a real labor of love.
but thats frame wise tho some cheap kits have won gundam modeling contests so its fine lol it all comes down to what you said labor of love and they did knock it out of the park
@@Pretzelishere808 Yeah but those cheap kits were built by people who werte really into Gunpla and modding kits. I think Jay would have been better off with something more complex too. A Sazabi at least would have been good, maybe even sinanju...
in gunpla, it's never about the price or complexity of the kit.
What you can do with a basic hg gundam is what seperates the man from the manchilds
i personally love kit bashing hg kits, specifically the GM type suits with the old ww2 tank kits
@@NanashiCAST I agree if you are talking the time to really work the kit. For someone who has been building more complex stuff (warships in Jay's case) an hg kit is way too simple. It may even make the builder dismiss gunplay kits altogether.
Personally I like mg kits and it's because of the extra detail. If hg kits were all there was I wouldn't be into gunpla as much.
This kind of creativity is what we need to see more of from manufacturers. Making things fun is just as important as airflow and temps. Reminds me of some of the shops I've been to in Tokyo where they have so much great stuff we never see here in the US.

Wow, this is honestly a dream set up that I never know I wanted. My dad and I used to watch the original gundam when I was a kid and something like this is just so cool to see 💛
This is one of those themes I'd never ever be able to afford (like a super car) so I never really drool over it. But the gundam stuff was my jam growing up and I would geek out so much if I got to lay hands on it. Awesome build quality in so many little details.

That builds is so fine! The figurine heaving the graphics card into place really makes it personal & unique.

My favorite char scene in the original is the time he made his entrance in the zgok and the slow motion pose he does is epic
I wish there was a bit more blue/red/gold in the build. The end result comes off as pretty white to me. Something as simple changing the color of some of the GPU-power cable could have brought a ton of extra flare to this build. The perphierals got the color mix just right IMO.
thats what rgb is for.. some bright arbg strips and it will look colorful!

@@mikeycrackson White cases don't do well with dust, sunlight and especially and foremost Cigarette/etc smoke.
If you avoid those things and clean regularly, it's not that bad.

This is the most brilliant and detailed set of components & peripherals I've ever seen. The colour theme, the details of the characters in different components and everything. So damn nice 👌💎 And a great edit on the video through the music, cuts and effects - top job!

Doesn't matter really since it was the wrong power supply. It's just the basic white edition. The actual themed one on the website is different.

wait.....my inner GN is here now. The case needs better airflow, but since it's such a large and in charge box, it shouldn't be a problem for thermals. it would be a problem in total volume and mass fully assembled. ya gonna need a steel girder under your floor for dat boi.

As a Gundam fan, the only thing that really disappoints me about the whole themed parts collection is the fact that 99% of those graphics cards are probably not going to find a home with Gundam fans. They're probably going to be bought by people who don't care what it is, just that it's a 3080 and it's for sale. It's far from Asus' fault, but I still can't help but be a little sad about it. If they offered all of those parts as one big bundle to cut back on scalping and hone in on the target audience, I'd probably wind up selling a kidney to buy it.

I've never watched it. I I bought the first 3080 I could get my hands on for retail. If I got this I would at least be willing to trade it to someone later got an equal gpu. I would have totally not cared and bought it though.
Nothing of any of these parts will. I checked everywhere and I can't even find the peripherals anymore. The keyboard is already getting sold for 500+ $ on Ebay.

Woot! ROG also did a Gundam "Char Aznable " series (red theme) but they didn't make all the PC Parts. Maybe you could get Asus to send Phil the Char PC parts and build/finish that theme for him. Then you could have Nic and Phil's Gundam themed battle stations next to each other in the office!

Great build, I haven't been excited about a PC in a long time, but ROG really leaned in and made a hardware theme/line with the full quality of their products.
As someone who just got into gundam, this is just more evidence for me that gundam is about to become the latest "Pokemon Card" style collection trend in the US

This was awesome Jay. You really played to your strengths, I and I suspect most others love to watch you build. I realize that this is unobtanium but that's OK, just to know that this is out there. Just give the system to Nick, you can see he's losing his mind over this very cool system. Maybe a Destiny 2 themed system might be cool.

ASUS cheaped out on the Zeon theme sadly so even though it is AMD it looks kinda poor
@@memethief4113 NO, ASUS did a fking good job on the theme, Zeon is poor comparing EFSF just like amd is poor comparing to intel. the AMD character matches Zeon perfectly ---- care less on safety, keep using the same module for years because they got no money to design a new one.

Indeed... Would have been nice if they could have manufactured more though. Kinda tired of having products displayed/promoted and then it's impossible to get them without getting scalped on ebay.
@@Draclord35 You're not wrong. It is getting really old. The scalping also prices people out of even being able to buy parts, let alone find them. I'm still trying to save up to build my first tower and prices just keep going up right now between shortages and scalping.

Now do the Chars zaku parts Asus made. I'm honestly surprised, judging by the comments, so few people knew about these gundam and zaku themed parts were a thing.
I knew of the Mobo and graphics cards... I did NOT know that there was a full line!
@Rusty00 newegg has the char case at a import price sadly at 299. I missed the drop when it was at 119 also x.x the mobo and routers are easier to find. new egg sells the router with a t shirt I defintely didnt buy it. I managed to snag my char case at 225 which still hurts compared to msrp but it was worth it.... ( it seems new egg has the char case on back order for 119) fk why did I have to look if your intrested in it id get on the back order if its anything like the first launch of the cases jump on it soon as it wont last to long
most people probably didn't know since it didnt launch state side and was really just an asian market release. It has recently had parts launched on other sites newegg has the char case and some other I think amazon has the motherboard and had the routers. (if you want the zaku router use newegg comes with a free t shirt)
Loving how this rig looks like, and crying that I found out too late that a local PC retailer ran a promo recently that includes a free PG RX-78-2 Gunpla with this entire set. I could have been building my very first rig alongside my first Gunpla.
PSU manufacturers: PLEASE take notes on the 6-pin GPU cable arrangement. Having them spread out instead of daisy-chained should be the default!
Every competent PC building expert: Never daisy chain your PCIe cables, you're either not providing enough power to your GPU or you're risking melting your cables.
Every PSU manufacturer: Make sure all the PCIe cables are daisy chains...

I could imagine removing the back 120mm fan and putting in a LCD screen back there, either a 5" or 7", and playing a short scene or GIF from Gundam. That would be a great idea to really make this build stand out as unique.
