Lol, I had to check this because I thought you might be referring to some kind of audio artifact that I missed, but I was pleasantly surprised. That little wood pop sound makes me feel happy.
Normally I'm not a big fan of edits like these but, your changes are really conservative where it counts and you really just made this sound really nice. I much prefer this approach to "restoring" the tracks by replacing samples. Great job, this must have taken hours upon hours.
Actually it's not quite as much work as it seems like. This sounds like the in-game audio because it is the in-game audio. I just took these songs and ran them through filters and processing to make them sound as good as they possibly could. Don't get me wrong, it's still hours of work, but not quite to the extent of rebuilding the songs from scratch. Thank you for listening!
@@GEMGaming_yt Oh yeah, that was exactly what I was saying and that's why I like it- my sentence was a bit confusing. Taking the tracks and processing them like this is the way to go, rather than rebuilding from scratch. Anyway, great job again and thanks!
I really like the (dissonant?) notes on marx's theme loop segment that aren't in the intro, they really emphasize his "Fighting a crazy jester with godlike powers in space" theme 1:03:24
This is what I was looking for this morning (something matching my own quality preference for an emulated SNES soundtrack). Thanks for all of your hard work in presenting demo material for how good the SPC700 could sound without the technical limitations of the original hardware. More people need to be aware of this. Widening the stereo separation wasn’t required but really makes things pop. The sound is dynamic, detailed and makes you appreciate how meticulously layered these compositions are.
51:21 this song is so intense, its one of my favorite tracks out of any Kirby game especially the 2 the come after it aswell. also pls do Kdl 3 that ost is so good too
Meta Knight's Theme IS really intense. I love the bass! I should do Kirby's Dream Land 3 someday. Thing is, I've never finished the game (It's not my favorite Kirby game).
@@GEMGaming_yt Came back to this video!! and Thats ok the game is kinda slower than the other kirby games but i love the art and ost Some of the levels are kinda boring honestly! But i think certain levels and the bosses really make up for it (Also the general art style is cute) Friend hearts hearts were awesome just maybe wish there was more of that gameplay in the game ((also just noticed the timestamps broke i think after flying through space)) The Ost is so good 😭
I bring each track into Adobe Audition and pass it through mastering, Eq, and I expand the stereo width. Then I save them as lossless audio (the files are huge!) Then, once I have everything imported into Premiere Pro and the video is finished, I encode with Super high quality audio. I think the final file size of the Kirby video was something 60 gigs.
@@mochiade Thank you so much! Yeah, with the video codec I used to export the high quality sound, the file gets huge. It's gotten better since I made this video though. I found a different setting that lets me get good quality sound and the file size isn't nearly as massive.
Back then, it made me hope there would be other epic kirby games in the future. Thought the same about a lot of games really Sometimes I wish I had never gotten into gaming lol, such disappointments over time
I loved this game! My god sister and I always played it when I stayed over, we played it so much to fall in love with music, gameplay, and challenges. When we finally finished it we were over joyed that we beat The Arena. After we finished it, we played it again.
Thanks so much. This is one of my favourite games with one of the best soundtracks ever on the SNES. I'm even hearing elements that I didn't know where presented in those music pieces.
Man, Kirby Super Star is one of my 30 favorite SNES titles of all time. Love the gameplay and the music. I remember renting this game at BlockBuster when I was around 5 or 6. Great choice I made since I did enjoy Kirby's Adventure. Good thing I bought Super Star on eBay. Wanted to add it to my collection.
I love listening to game soundtracks that I know, so I listen to a lot of Kirby. This video and your Kirby 64 video have become my default ways of listening to those games' soundtracks. They are very well done!
This is a masterpiece, the work you edited with love & care in honoring the original AND this amazing video 👏🏼 🏆 THANK YOU for doing this!! I just subscribed to your Patreon 🙌🏼
A story to read while listening to this master piece. So there i was, on a quest to beat every single kirby game starting with kirby's adventure and ending with kirby and the forgotten land. I beat kirby's adventure in about a day, my next target being kirby super star. Beating the 2 minigames and spingbreeze, dynablade, and gourmet race. Next was The great cave offensive, everything was going well until i hit the save progress room. It was 12:00am yesterday and the music was so calming that i fell asleep on that screen. Save hut 36:38. Now today beat great cave offensive and only have revenge of meta knight and the milkyway wishes
Nice Work! Can imagine that some of your remasteres would be interesting for MSU-1 ROM Patches. P.S - Your Metroid Prime Remaster gets my attention & brought me here!
This is probably my favorite soundtrack tied with Undertale. I love Meta Knight Defeated, Grape Garden, and Meta Knights Theme! Keep up the good work man!
I just checked it out and I do hear some buzzing, but it’s very slight in my headphones. Sounds like it’s an artifact from the processing on that one “oooo” sounding instrument that plays at the beginning. You can hear that buzzing again when the song repeats. My bad.
No problem! Super Star is SO good. I've heard that Star Allies is also a really good Kirby game, and one that I haven't put much time into. I need to get that game and give it the time it deserves.
My favorite game of all time as a kid. I played Mario, DK, Zelda, Pokemon and many other SNES / Gameboy titles, but none hooked me as much as this little masterpiece. Revenge of Metaknight and The Great Cave Offensive were my favorite campaigns, but others had their own charm and beautiful story tied to it. And the mini games on the side, the brilliant soundtrack… nothing will ever come close to how I felt back then when playing this game. Thank you to everyone involved in making this game and thanks mom for buying me this when I was six years old. Bless you all! ❤
What is interesting to me is that I never cared for the song personally, but it is one of the most memorable ones out of the entire playlist. I know I am going to sound like an old fart, but man I wish we could return to the types of games we use to get in the 90s and first half of the 2000s. Took me a long time to truly come to the realization, but modern gaming sucks in general, with very few exceptions. However, the exceptions never make the rule

The SNES Classic Edition microconsole and SNES on Nintendo Switch Online could’ve benefited from 360 audio feature. Can the original SNES console be modified to support 360 audio?
Yeah, there is a bit of buzzing there faintly. Nothing I can do about it. It's an artifact of the samples that the composer used. In actuality, that buzzing is there in the original version of the song too, but it's so quiet you can't hear it. My remaster process brings out the details of ALL the sounds, even the ones that you couldn't here before.
