@@JoeBraveheart it is in general, but sometimes is fine, other times is worse. In the few games i played in battlemode during a free online weekend i was able to play pretty normal in a good amount of times, but, there were some where i got kicked out of the game or i did have lag
as a casual player who has trouble with Ultra Nightmare in the Campaign i get my ass kicked in Battlemode a lot. But it's okay, cuz it's just amazing that people play an such a high skill lvl GJ
Thanks, it's a really hard game. There are no "free kills" really. You have to master a lot of mechanics and be aware of them at the same time. It took me forever to get through the ultra-nightmares, I'm somewhat late to the party even though I started playing way back at launch due to this being one of the first pc games I played so was still learning how to use a keyboard and mouse never mind the rest lol. For the campaign I learned demon spawns, abused lock on rockets and gradually got better at timing where to be had how to kill hard demons fast. Battlemode is different, for that I had to get really good without being able to rely on my crutches like ice bomb, lock on and air control (not having air control was the hardest to get used to). Then they added the dread knight and I had no choice but to learn how to ballista boost and then once I got that (which comes surprisingly quick once you start practicing it btw) everything started to click and I was flying. If you haven't seen it yet I do have a guide up as well on my channel which shows how I practice what I do and some settings I use. Top 10 is possible but first place is going to take a lot of grind, Sir & Madness were on it non-stop last season, sir had somewhere close to 240 streak, he probably spent 600 hours of actual gametime in the past month to get it so yeah, one definitely needs a shitbucket to get the number one spot. But top 10 is attainable with some grinding.
@@ioi1989 Ha true! It is a grind to stay up there for sure. I think your right, I could stay in the top 10 through the season if I grind enough... Just can't play or do anything else ha, I lose my pc for a whole day while I'm editing and uploading as well. Could be tough
Im always anxious when playing battle mode in public servers because i keep thinking that i might match make against this guy and he would wreck the shit out of me not even a minute in every round
Lol thanks, I've had a lot of practice at around 1800hrs now though tbf so I should be doing well. What the game really needs is a matchmaking system. I started playing when the game first came out so there wasn't as huge a skill gap but now it's outrageous. I've played before when the guys I'm against are clearly new players and I know that can't be fun for them. I kind of think all games should only have ranked. I like ranked in halo when I was going for onyx but the wait times were a nightmare sometimes. Then I'd go into a public match and be up against other onyx players... Like it's not casual just because it's a casual playlist but the games would actually be more accessible for new players if they also matched against new players, plus the player base would all be in one place so no ridiculous wait times for ranked. I get that some people enjoy pub stomping but I don't think it's good for the game or for any of the players, it's built in surfing by design so Devs should be rid of it really. Ranked all the way I say, that's the future for online gaming, plus bot matches you can set up yourself and that's a warm up. Doom has that built in with the single player being so good. That's how I learned to play then once I was on nightmare I jumped into some battlemode. Now I've done everything and sometimes I see day one players. It's not fair or fun for anyone that way. I see how they wouldn't come back after that. I've got all the rewards now so regularly if they stay and try I'll just give them the win for their stream but that's no fun for either team either and no one learns anything from it
If that ever happens, then because you asked absolutely I will. Your the first to ask, glad to hear someone thinks I could make it that far. A huge compliment, thanks very much... For the moment however, I'm yet to hit 100 but hopefully soon, that's the next milestone for me. Thanks again for your support
I feel like the Ultimate Slayer/Demon Lord title isn't much of a skill indicator. I'm about to get both at the end of this week and I'm terrible at the game.
I know what you mean. So during the first season it was pretty competitive, ofcourse everyone who played the game at a high level wanted it and it was a new, shiny thing so exciting, they were all playing in public matches and you were bound to run into the best players regularly enough that you had to do really well or you weren't getting that streak. Now however as time goes on there's no reason to be in the top 100 leaderboard if you already have the reward except if your going for the no.1 position for bragging rights, which in some ways is just time played. The skill difference in the top 5 is probably next to nothing, just who played more this month, the pros tend to play in their own private matches otherwise they just get lobby dodged and like to play against other similarly skilled players. I can only play for about 20 to 30 mins for example max before I can't get a game due to getting dodged. So I just play until I unlock the rewards for that season now then leave it for a month. It's not a good experience though to play your first battlemode match against a top tier player. I loaded up a game yesterday while I was waiting on a friend and got a level 1. That person hasn't even completed the campaign once and I'm at over 1300hrs. They need a matchmaking system with ranks to climb with consistent wins and fall down that ladder with losses. You do still need to have skill to get your first top 100 unlock though. You'll be better than your giving yourself credit for. Fair enough the way it works out you may get lucky for a streak and get easier opponents but usually you'll stumble across a real good player before the end of the streak and you'll have to be able to hold your own. Yes you might not be up there with the top 10's but you won't be terrible like you said you are either, be proud of your top 100's once you've got them. You earned it. You are right though. A better system would more accurately depict skill levels and be way more fun for both newcomers and long time players. The more evenly skilled the matches are the more fun they are to play. Match made games would do that. You'd have to wait a little longer for each match though probably, if no one at your skill level was on at the time you would either have to wait or eventually get miss-matched I guess, they could have a timer on that until they extend the search peramaters for skill
@@follow1092 yeah there are a lot of great players on there for sure. The games are getting real competitive with the leaderboards. I played against Sir in the last video I put up and in one of those rounds it's like I blink and it's over lol, very hard. Great games

campaign really. It wasn't that long ago I was watching speedrunners and battlemode players thinking I'd never even attempt a ballista boost and now I have way more fun with the game because of having learned it. Here's a link to my guide on how I practiced to get to where I am now if you'd like to check it out ua-cam.com/video/gMK_b04hDKI/v-deo.html
I thought the same in the beginning, I turned it off when I started playing squad as that doesn't have a crosshair so I used doom to learn where the centre of my screen was because I could be fighting and aim training all the time, now I can't play with it. Even the dot feels like it gets in the way. I now find you can be much better without it due to learning to just react to what you see and feel where your aim is rather than seeing an enemy then having to look for your crosshair, line it up and time the shot. Now I just point and shoot because it's instinct... Also, I'm now much better at squad aswell, my first shot is much better and that goes for all my shooter games. I'm not worrying about crosshair placement, I just have my head up scanning for targets, then shoot them when they appear. you don't have a crosshair in real life so it is more natural aswell. I highly recommend giving it a try, it is awkward at first but once you've got it it's like taking your training wheels off your bike. Now you can go much faster, smoother and can even start learning some tricks
The crosshair is your aim/reticule in the centre of the screen. I feel I am now better with that turned off. Thanks for checking out the video even though English isn't your first language. I appreciate it, I hope my explanation helped

I did another thumbnail for my Ready Or Not, 3 Man Speedrun World record that I'm quite pleased with, take a look and let me know what you think, still getting used to the tools and finding my style at the moment, I'll check out those videos for the next one, that's a good tip. Thanks again
@@JoeBraveheartI Competetly understand Im a kid so i have a lot more time on my hands so I didn't really consider that thanks for me letting know I'll make sure to check your other video out and tell u what I think of it
@@DarkShaigo Excellent! Thanks very much. That's not a problem, hopefully one day this will become my job and I'll have all the time in the world for it. That's the dream ofcourse ha. Keep going with your videos too, I like them, your thumbnails are great and absolutely take advantage of your time if you have it just now, I joined the army when I was 17 in 2008 - 2013 then left to settle down and after years of working jobs I don't like since then I tried to start youtube at 28, now that I'm 30 my channel is suddenly picking up, time flies, not ideal lol. They weren't terrible jobs but I've always loved gaming and would thoroughly enjoy making a living at it. Keep it up bud and thanks again for your input, if I'm going to be successful it's always good to hear what people wanna see. Always learning, even when your old like me ha. Go after your passion
How does one even get that good at this game?
campaign really. It wasn't that long ago I was watching speedrunners and battlemode players thinking I'd never even attempt a ballista boost and now I have way more fun with the game because of having learned it. Here's a link to my guide on how I practiced to get to where I am now if you'd like to check it out ua-cam.com/video/gMK_b04hDKI/v-deo.html
how do you play with no crosshair i find it hard using pb balista with one
I'm only learning english. What is crosshair?
The crosshair is your aim/reticule in the centre of the screen. I feel I am now better with that turned off. Thanks for checking out the video even though English isn't your first language. I appreciate it, I hope my explanation helped
@@JoeBraveheart thank you bro, I really got the definiton. My apologies for not answering you. I have been busy recently and I really appreciate your explanation, it's very easy to understand.
P.S. can you make a tutorial how to bunny hop with ballista? I'm top 5000 in doom eternal but still far away from performing the perfect doom dance. At intense fights I start to be nervous and mess up with gun switching and lose very quickly. I would really appreciate it if you could make such tutorial
That's a great idea, absolutely I will do that for you and don't worry about the delay in reply time I don't mind, people have lives, I get busy too, I'm just grateful for the time people have taken to watch and support my channel, if you take a break from my content for a while that's fine... Just stay subscribed! Lol. I'm glad my explanation helped, feel free to ask anything else in the future, I'll be happy to help and thanks again for stopping by my channel, I'll see what I can do about getting a guide up for you soon
@@JoeBraveheart I will definetely spend more time watching your vids because it's a rare content of top 100 doom player having a channel and making vids. It's facsinating how fast you've improved your skills in making a video. And don't worry, I'll stay subscribed and after a year or two for insance I will flex like "this guy got one hundred thousands of subs but I've been watching him since 60 subs" lol.
That really can be if you'll stay as energetic and involved in your favourite job as you are. Good luck to you bro, you have great potential.
P.S. I don't demand but you should think about your profile picture. It must be something linked with doom but not the flag of Scotland lol.
Nice thanks! Hopefully 100 thousand is possible in a year or so from now. It's easier every video I guess. Every time I make one I learn something new, then because I'm doing the same things quicker in the following video I get more time to learn something else new. I was trying something crazy for the slayer battlemode guide that's on its way but it's impossible lol. So it's taking ages. I get what you mean about the profile picture, I do however do other games as well, I threw that together to suit the name of my channel, didn't know what game was going to take off as most popular. Due to me being ex-army I thought one of the military games possibly but obviously not... It's Doom! Which is excellent coz I love doom. I think I will have to revisit my icon at some point but for right now I need to get this guide out! Lol thanks again for your input and kind words. I appreciate it as always
Round 3
4 3 2 1
Figh......demon health critical
Lol noice. Yeah it's good to get a fast start like that but can be risky though if they are ready for it
What is crosshair?
The mark on the middle of the screen for aiming
