Trains of London Ontario - April 24 1993

Again in the spring we took a day trip to see trains around London Ontario.
1. The CP engine terminal at Quebec street.
2. A westbound CP train at Quebec street.
3. CN train 238 at the VIA station.
4. Another eastbound CN at the VIA station.
5. A westbound CP freight at Waterloo street.
6. VIA trains 81 and 71 westbound across the Thames river on the west side of London.
7. Eastbound VIA train 72 crossing the Thames near Wortley road.
8. An eastbound CP train crossing over Franks lane near Komoka.
9. CN train 381 passing under the bridge on Franks lane.
10. Westbound & eastbound CP freights meet at Franks lane. The eastbound had an interesting mix of power led by an Alco RS18, so we followed it back into London.
11. CN train 914 at Franks lane.
12. The CP eastbound at Quebec st in London.
13. CP train 923 meets the eastbound with the RS18 at the park crossing east of Highbury ave.
14. East and westbound CN trains at London East (Egerton st).
15. VIA Rail train 88, the eastbound International at Highbury ave & Florence st.
16. CP train 923 westbound out of the yard at Adelaide st.
17. A westbound CP train passing the old depot at Richmond st.
18. VIA trains 87 and 79 at Colborne st.
19. An eastbound CP train near Highbury ave.
20. An eastbound CN train at London East.
21. An eastbound CP train at Adelaide street.
22. An eastbound CP freight at Richmond st.

Wow. First let me say I can't believe you came all the way to London, Ontario. I'm guessing your from Michigan staye from your other videos. Just wondering why London?

London was suggested by a friend. He really likes the spot near Komoka where the main lines run parallel. This was our second trip. There's another video from the spring of 1992 as well.

I'm curious as to why none of the trains used their whistles, is the entirety of London, Ont. a "quiet zone?"

J Michelin I'm not a local London railfan, but when I've been there. It was quiet. It's also like this in Guelph too.
