Trying Mountain Biking for the First Time! Mammoth Mountain

- I was talked into trying mountain biking for the first time ever!
Kevin and I headed up to Mammoth Lakes, California in September of 2019, to mountain bike Mammoth Mountain. It was the first time riding the Mammoth bike park for both of us. I was a little nervous at first but mountain biking is super fun and not that hard! Check out this video to see what the Mammoth discovery bike zone is like, and after a few laps in there we rode the scenic gondola up to the top of mammoth. Kevin decided to bike down, but I just went for the view. Good times!

Great video! Just FYI, you can get a $29 ticket for just the beginner lift. You can also ride any trails that you can pedal to, and you get one free ride on the Bike Park Shuttle. So you can ride anything that doesn't require the Gondola, or Chairs 2 or 16 (more advanced). I am comfortable on the blues, but the blues in the beginner area are a little intense because there are so many "features" back to back. And Roberto's for margaritas... great choice!
Thanks for the info! It was our first time at the bike park. We needed a rental so we opted for a package. But the gondola ride was nice too, and Kevin ended up riding one of the trails down from the top
The mountain biking looks so fun, but I’d have to bail on the camping in the cold too.
We had so much fun! But yeah that night we decided on a hotel because it was sooo cold! And we were exhausted from not sleeping much haha
