Wow, I recall a swell in 1977 or 1978, it was in winter, that was this large and I saw waves throwing out like this surfing at Cardiff Reef (a friend got is foot jammed in the reef getting pitched out on one like this....his barely got it loose and made it back up) but this wave has to be about the best & deepest tube I seen here in North County. Great you captured it, hope the person on the wave gets to see it for himself.
I was there 2, both epic swell!! San Diego was happening back then ,chargers, sockers, clippers, and only 1 left Padres!!! surfed for USD surf team,77- 79.! finished 82, went back home to the islands, with degree .ALOHA! ! ....women's vball was awesome USD did win the 1stgame ,beating Texas but loss match, still a great accomplishment for a little school on a hill!! Go torreros!!
@@MK-su6eg Perhaps then you went to the Belly-Up Tavern when they first started having live music in 1977, or "Dick's at the Beach" or Jose Murphy's in PB, Long Branch Saloon in Oceanside, etc. I was in the first electric band to play at the Belly-Up in 1977, the Country Honky Tonk Band "Tall Cotton". I actually had Sydney Madden shape me a 7'11" gun for the North Shore, had a friend living there but when the band took off I stayed here. Also played at the La Paloma in 1978 opening for Doc Watson. The surfing was good back then.....and the music & yoga community......which is still good but expanded now.

That's the "Suckouts" section... Known for barrels when it's firing.
No roundhouse afterwards??? That's leaving points on the table.
