My wife and I, before getting married in Puerto Plata, we had a great friend of ours who was a lawyer. He took care of everything as far as forms needed for our civil marriage. He didn't charge us for his services.
May he and his wife R.I.P. Both he and his wife were really good friends of ours, we all really miss them.

I got married in Santo Domingo , in Los mina ! Now I’m divorced which took two years for paperwork and to go before the magistrate but I’m happy to be done with that woman , make sure the Dominican woman love you and not just trying to go to your country!

@@jaybtwopointoh7499 the red flags 🚩 are right before your eyes 👀, you get blindside by the royal treatment that you don’t receive in the states, but I didn’t lose anything, I gained a lot of knowledge. I should’ve known better , but most Dominicans if they have a strong desire to come to the states believe me they have a network of people here to help them maneuver through paperwork legal and illegal. Watch out for the U- status green card trick! They will fake a terrible abusive marriage and call the police and lie to have you locked up and then all the paperwork is presented to the immigration judicial officer or judge and they are awarded a temporary green card. My story is very long but let’s just say I’m definitely happily divorced and now I’m able to purchase a penthouse in Santo Domingo and not have to split it with my ex wife.

This is great info for those who want to marry Dominican citizens. I am not sure though that some people understand; is that if your a nationalized US citizen not born in the United States , you will need to get your birth certificate certified by the consulate of the country you were born and then translate the birth certificate and the certified paper to Dominican Spanish. This is important. Marriage is sure expensive sis😅 it sure cost a lot. So people MAKE SURE YOUR MARRYING THE RIGHT PERSON. Great video Norberis. 👌

Does it need to be translated before it’s apostille or the original documents apostille then translated? Also with the declaration of single status can I just write it in Spanish and then go to a Spanish notary to get it notarized?

I hear, there is "Common Law" if you live with a woman for 1 year... then both have equal rights to property. Common Law Marriage

Also, be aware that if you're married in the 🇺🇸 your marriage is not valid in the 🇩🇴.

Not true. If you are married in the U.S., your marriage is valid in DR. But first you will need to have the U.S. state department of state authenticate your marriage certificate, then take it to any Dominican consulate in the U.S. to have it apostilled and translated into Spanish. After that, you are good to go.

Actually, I came to 🇺🇸 at 12yo and never had a "cedula" just got one last year at the consulate in NYC, after 43 years and they told me my American marriage certificate is not valid, so my dominican ID and passport list me as single and have my maiden name. So, in order to rectify that I'm sure I would have to do so in the DR.

On this same note about cheating, right now I just took a phone call from a friend, about another good friend who was found dead hours ago because of his woman cheating, people need to get a grip and be honest
