  • Welcome to my brand new off-ice training series called #SkateWithMichelle. The focus of this week is PLYOMETRICS! Plyometrics are exercises involving repeated rapid stretching and contracting of muscles (as by jumping and rebounding) to increase muscle power. As skaters we need plyometrics to train our bodies to be able to jump on the ice every day.
Check out my Instagram for the official Skate With Michelle Calendar to see what exercises we are covering: / b-iut1opc6e Today's Plyometric/HIIT Training workout is all about the hop jump also commonly known as the skater jump. I am going to break down how to progress from warmup to full execution of 30 hop/skater jumps. Let me know in the comment section below what your favorite part of today's "Skate With Michelle!" tutorial!
LET'S GET STRONG TO BECOME THE BEST SKATERS WE CAN BE!
Friendly Reminder: Please be careful when following along. If you never attempted certain elements displayed in the video, be sure to consult your figure skating coach before trying it for the first time.
    Skating Love,
    Coach Michelle
