I spent 3 weeks diving Tiputa pass every day and diving with the Manta Rays by the small island just inside the atoll near Tiputa pass. My video equipment was primitive compared to now. Great to see this as I remembered it. This video looks just like the density of sharks on our sharkiest dive of the trip.
@@Sam-uw7pw I dove in both much much less sharks in the maldives than in French Polynesia. In the Maldives when you see something like a dozen of sharks during the dive it is a good day. I Tiputa you have hundred of them every day. Sometimes the schools of fish are bigger in the Maldives but I agree with Pascal Tiputa/ Tumakohua are clearly better than the maldives for me
Simply incredible! I am 100% going here to dive with those sharks, and the amount of fish in the beginning was amazing. When is the best time to go for the sharks? I see all these cool videos with dozens or hundreds of sharks and I am nervous to book in a lame time where there will be not many like seen here.
hi Pascal, wie lange / wie viel Tauchgänge hast du für die Aufnahmen gebraucht ? in welchem Monat warst du vor Ort ? Ich habe für Anfang dezember gebucht auch die beiden Inseln.
Matthew Thomas Barbour thanks a lot 😃 its good to dive the all year round. the great hammerhead sharks (4 meters long!) are there only in winter months january and february. regards pascal
Common misconception. Sharks, noticeably the typical reef-dwelling species, are actually not that dangerous compared to many other, less imposing, marine creatures. On average, more people are killed by a bad sting from jellies, in fact. Some people unfortunately do get badly bitten by sharks, but it's incredibly rare, and almost always from just three species out of nearly 500; Great White, Tiger and Bull Sharks. Unprovoked attacks from sharks average at less than 50 a year, and fatal attacks average at less than 10 a year. In water of poor visibility, some reef species have been known to bite, mistaking a person for something they normally eat, but such incidents are so rare, they aren't much cause for concern. Reef sharks are known for being quite docile, and even shy around humans.

no the sharks are friendly. when you not feed them is no problem to dive with all kind of sharks.
