I just adopted a burle marx var. from a friend of mine in a trade, I have seen them everywhere lately and never really looked twice but from bringing it home I’m immediately obsessed. The variegation is SO cool and it’s growing like a weed no matter how much I disturb it 😅

Hey, I’m doing alright, how’re you Kylie? 😊 Aw thanks so much! Not sure if you mean the first one I showed or the one that I ranked as first so I’ll give you the care for both: The Calathea is in a coir based mix with a lot of perlite, and I keep fertilising during watering it as long as it’s growing with superthrive or whatever liquid fertiliser. It likes to stay moist and it will droop ever so slightly when thirsty, but generally I do a frequent but small top waterings to maintain the moisture, and about once a month I’ll do bottom watering. It likes bright, indirect light so as long as you’re not putting it in direct sun/on a windowsill it can be quite versatile as far as where it can live in the home, and you don’t have to worry about elevated humidity with this one. For the Philodendron, I have it in a chunky aroid mix, fertilising is the same as with the calathea but I always top water Philos. It needs more light than the Calathea but again not direct sun. Mine lives about three feet from a grow light, and this one is also fine with normal room humidity. Hope that was helpful! 💚
