If I EVER came across a painting of someone's MOTHER, I wouldn't even hesitate to GIVE that person the painting, no matter the value. Smfh. I can't believe she's going to wait until she dies to hand it over to them. Smh The son of the woman in the painting will be long gone by that time, so he should get the painting 100%. We only have one damn life and I'm sure it would make that man's whole world to have that painting. It would make my world just to be able to give the painting to him too. This was very sad to me

I will probably be pilloried for this but it is how I feel. I have watched the AR since its inception and this afternoon watched all three parts of this mini series.
It reminds me of the England I grew up in, went to school in and started work in. All three episodes are full of English ( Scots and Welsh too) people who all look english, speak english correctly and behave like English people. This was my world and I am very sad to say we seem to be rapidly discarding this world for something our politicians have dreamt up and told us must now be the normal.
How we live now will never be the normal for me and I suspect there are still many who feel as I do.

The story at 31:50 of the "Betty Clover" painting is very heartwarming. I find the thoughtfulness of the current owners to respect the painted woman's family's quite honorable. In my opinion, this is one of the best examples for keeping tradition alive beyond the short stay on this mortal plane. A kind reminder that there is more to the British people than the unsavory "Blonde Buffoon" playing with economy and politics like they would do in a personal monopoly game.

I cannot believe that cigarette cases value.. smh It's made by their top crafter 80 years ago and there is ONLY ONE!!! I have BASEBALL CARDS worth more than that and they're signed by newer players and there are more than one of them. Smh I don't understand art at all... Smh They have ugly paintings that are worth Millions and look like a 5 year old painted them... But then you have this case that someone took loads of time to craft and has his signature on it and only worth 5 to 6k? I think at an auction it would go for more id hope.

Even since this programme was made, the country has become unrecognisable. So desperately sad to see what it has become. Our culture and people are being replaced.

People said the same thing in 1980.
      And 1950.
      And 1920.
      And....
