Wow, I just found this GEM. Better late than never I guess. An absolute religious experience watching this performance. Being from Boston I find myself extremely lucky to have seen HHF twice. Nice to to see Liam, Peter, and Fiachna together again. Dave and Martin fit in quite nicely. Hope to see you here in the States again. I know the band has been touring exclusively in their homeland. Hello from Finland! This was - and is a wonderful gig, for sure! I've loved HHF since I heard Don't go -single back in 1988 for the first time (a legendary Eurovision Song Contest interval act number)... Saw them live in Joensuu, Finland (1992) and at Royal Albert Hall (1993)... Great memories! Btw. what is the Irish song beginning at about 52 minutes here (before I Can See Clearly Now)?
I'm late answering but perhaps you or others will see this. The song in Irish is "An raibh tú ar an gCarraig" (Were you at the Rock?). Liam explains it in a 2008 concert video. It is a love song, but really a code song, from the penal times when, among other injustices, Catholic worship was outlawed in Ireland. "The Rock" of the song is a Mass Rock, somewhere out in the countryside where Catholics would secretly gather to worship. The answer to the question, (paraphrasing here), "did my sweetheart ask about me?" would be answered differently in the (publicly sung) song. If "yes, she did" that meant "yes, it's safe to go to the Mass Rock where a priest will be celebrating mass". If, "no, she didn't", that meant "no, it's not safe", as Liam explains it to a Czech audience.

Fantastic band, terrible sound by whelans. Would love a podcast from top irish artists - how venue sound engineers butcher their live performances. We need the artist to say this first, we cannot continue with technical bozos remedially pressing keys/turning nobs anymore - nobbers. If barred from country haunts, so be it, for yee mostly have ta play the set Playlist for the bingo brigade anyways. Oh a change is a coming, we say goodbye to all the buckwits, break chain and blockchain anew.

Liam and the boy`s , still dinning out on a song from 1988, some people won`t take their royalty cheques for their multiple property`s and go away. Nice hobby to get them out of the house though....

Strange remark. 3 Top 5 albums in the UK cult following in America. Liam at this point a national treasure. Legend talked about too lightly these days, but this guy is an Irish Legend! Can't see how if you only had one song in 1988 you would still be selling live shows out 36 years later as they were formed in 1985! Listen to this gig and enjoy the pure raw soul and musicianship of proper musicians :-)
@@DavidGilliver David HHF were one of the best and biggest bands of the late 80s and 90's, i seen them twice and 1st time took my 14 year old nephew and he still listens to them now and by the way my 3 daughters all have a original cd of the album Songs from the Rain and still to this day they all play it and always say its there fav album of all time and there fav track is Gypsy Fair and they also have there children enjoying it my grand kids which makes us 3 generations listening to this Fantastic Music. So take no notice of the idiotic haters or idiotic people who do not appreciate fantastic music. By the way wayfarer 691 loves east 17 etc.
