SO PUMPED FOR THIS READATHON!! You look so freaking cute per usual 😍😍😍😍 I am sooo excited for In My dreams I Hold A Knife it sounds like everything I love in a thriller! They Never Learn is my favorite book I’ve read this year too! I love all the recs!
Another one that perfectly fits both Dark Academia and morally gray characters is Never Saw Me Coming by Vera Kurian. It is set at a university in DC and a professor is running a study on students who are identified as psychopaths. Obviously, someone gets murdered and no one knows who they can trust. Great fall read. It’s up the with They Never Learn. And The Book of Accidents was so great. It totally read like a supernatural thriller from Stephen King and the Stranger Things vibe…absolutely!
i really missed an opportunity to recommend zodiac academy again for the halloween prompt because of all the vampires, werewolves, and dragons in it whoops
I love your channel so much! The readathon sounds awesome I love the prompts. If you do pick up a discovery of witches just beware it is a VERY slow burn.. but sometimes that's a good thing. Since you really like short stories for October I highly recommend Clive barker's books of blood and Joe hills 20th century ghosts. Some other collections that are great are blue world by Robert r mccammon and if you wanna try out some weird horror go with Bentley littles the collection lol
Currently reading Something Wicked This Way Comes for the firs time and it can be read as a standalone. Love it so far. It is slow paced and has a lot of atmosphere.
There is another active readathon with this name! I was really confused at first. Unfortunate about the name situation but I will definitely be reading spooky books all month!
Count me in!!! In my Dreams I Hold a Knife is one of my favorite books of the year. Great group choice! I'm going to do: Dark Academia: They Never Learn; BIPOC: Confessions; Morally Gray: You; Witchcraft: I may have to skip this one unless I hear something good; Halloween Elements: The Last House on Needless Street. This is Gabby Reads book club book of the month for October.
Something Wicked This Way Comes is my favorite book! It's so so good! For the past 5 years I've read it every October. You definitely do not need to read Dandelion Wine again. It's a stretch to call it a series. The only thing that tied them together is the town.
I followed your advice and avoided spoilers for Maud Dixon but the Dutch edition thought it was a great idea to put a blurb on the front cover that spoils the plot twist... I tried..
Oh, I just picked up Dead Dead Girls! Might have to pick that one 👀oooooooo, I hope you like The Rules of Magic if you read it! I really enjoyed it, more than the Practical Magic book.
Good witch books:
The Physick Book of Deliverance Dane and Hex.
The Good House and Ace of Spades are 2 of my favorite books of all time! I can’t recommend them enough! Words can’t express how much I love them.
Spooky books are honestly the best! Have fun with the readathon 😊
I’m so excited to make my TBR! Thanks for hosting 🥳🎃
Just love your bubbliness!!!😄😱📖📚 I read for your own good and it by far is a five star for me!! Definitely read it!!

The Good House keeps you on your toes!
I have The Book of Accidents on my shelf ready to read in October 🎃
Loved They Never Learn!
I came here to suggest the rules of magic!!! One of my favorite books and so underrated!
Morally-gray characters: Friends Like These by Kimberly McCreight (might also fit Dark Academia since they all met at Vassar College)

Yes! We love a great readathon!
For Your Own Good was quite a ride. Nobody is what they seem!
I just read The Stranger Diaries because of you, and I LOVED it! ❤
I should have The Book of Accidents I'm a couple weeks from my library!! And Kill Creek is still the only haunted house book I've ever liked
In My Dreams I Hold A Knife SOUNDS SO GOOD 🤩

I so want to get into reading Samantha Downing's books
Sounds fun! I think I’ll try out “Halloween Party” by Agatha Christie for the Halloween prompt. I’ve always wanted to read it!
I just love you 💗
