Hi all! For those of you who had trouble with the walls, I did a troubleshooting section on Part 3 here: ua-cam.com/video/qnHUpFPvtHU/v-deo.html Happy blending!
@@Dude_Blender the square/plane you drew that you extruded from. It looks like it becomes a wire frame. The same happened to me when I deleted the faces and selected only faces. I was able to trace the floor plan successfully but when I extruded vertically all of my walls were transparent.
everything went wrong after i added the solidifier, not only the walls were overlapping glitching but there were these 2 random long walls on the sides i never added and i couldnt make all the walls blue bc if i did the other side would be red. I need help im stuck 3:47
hey mate! since I don't know how you set up your floor plan, I can't say what you might have done wrong, since you seem to be having quite a bit of trouble I'd strongly suggest you watch the updated version of this video here ua-cam.com/video/u2Ywe1vbl30/v-deo.html I went into much more detail in how to set up the walls properly.
Hey dude, you might have deleted them, you need to make sure to delete faces only so that the vertices remain. What part of the video are you talking about?
Hello @Dude_Blender. How do I correct the axis for an imported 3d house plan/render via .obj? The rear of the house is oriented down essentially on the Y axis.
Hey mate, yeah objs usually face the wrong direction in import but you can just select the whole thing with A then rotate it with R in the correct axis (press x, y or z to constrain) then just type the number of degrees, 90 most likely. Also make sure that the scale of the model is correct and if not, scale it down with S. Let me know if that helps!
Hey! Grab any vertex and instead of extruding it, just duplicate it with shift+d, then place it wherever your wall starts, then extrude this vertex to make the wall.
Such a great tutorial, but I don't understand wich way the walls should point, like is 1 room blue and another is red or how do I figure this out? - Totally fresh Blender guy here :)
Hey dude! The idea is that all of the exterior of the building is blue. Since some walls are shared by different rooms, it’s impossible to have all rooms inside of the same color, but you should look at where the errors are when you turn on the solidify modifier and change those walls. Does it make sense?
That’s sooooo hard to know why based on that description. Did you select them all and made a face? Did you add a subdivision modifier? Or a solidify? Did you scale the floor or walls? Maybe the easiest thing is to delete the floor and create it again by duplicating the vertices.
hey mate, honestly you can use any site that pops up in google when you search for "floor plan designer" (smartdraw, floorplaner, floorplancreator, etc). they all offer free versions and are quite easy to learn.
hello, tried your method but somehow when doing the solidify modifier the walls get all Wonky" even with the faces all blue and the even thicness on. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks
Hey Noemia, sure! If you can share a screenshot I can tell you exactly what happened, but if not, 90% chance is 1) somehow you got doubled vertices somewhere, 2) some walls are still facing the wrong way. To fix 1: select all vertices with A, then M>>by Distance. To fix 2: turn off the solidify modifier to see the orientation of the walls, you want to try to have most (or all, when possible) walls inside closed rooms be red. Let me know if this helps!
@@Dude_Blender hi sir having the same problem here as well. tried the first one didnt work. I checked the face orientation one and my walls are all in blue color! what is the real problem here?
Note that if you have the solidify modifier ON, everything will look blue, you need to turn it off to see the orientation. So what I do is turn it on to see where there are bad walls, then turn it off to work on them.
@@Dude_Blender tried face orientation and all still having problem ....have I accidently turned on anything? can u make a video about this problem if possible? thank u

clear quick and to the point. great video.
Thanks mate, glad you liked it 🤙🏼

Thanks dude, glad you liked it 🤙🏼
keep going mate you will success by time keep making video like these
Thanks for the encouraging words dude! Very much appreciated.
Thankyou so much sir for this great video...............❤❤❤❤❤❤
Anytime my friend!
You saved me so much head ache thank you!
@@__Diaz__ you’re welcome my friend!
What happened to the plane at 1:00? How did you make it transparent?
You mean the image of the floor plan? Just make it transparent in the options on the panel to the right.

@@SH0GUN11 maybe you’re in wireframe render mode? Press Z and you can select it in the pie menu or go back to solid.
Super tight - Thank you!
🫡 cheers mate!
thank you my man
Hey mate, I see you watched them both! You are a man of culture 🧐
Hey! nice tutorial, i dont see artifacts but i have walls whit different thickness, any suggest ?
Hadn’t encountered that before, are all of the walls on the same mesh? If not, try to apply the scale to all of your walls’ meshes with ctrl+a
Please help me how can i select the wall, mine seem to not work
nvm fixed it thanks
Glad you fixed it mate, cheers!

How do you make the vertices
Select any vertex and extrude it with E.
amazing! thanks!
Any time mate! Cheers!
after i delete faces i dont have those dots to grab. how do i get them? :)

how can I insert new walls that aren't in touch with any other walls?
Hey! Grab any vertex and instead of extruding it, just duplicate it with shift+d, then place it wherever your wall starts, then extrude this vertex to make the wall.
I can't select the walls to change orientation!

Is the reference human in blender or is it a seperate model?
Hey, it’s a separate model. I left it available in my Gumroad here:

When im selecting the faces, and attempt to hit Shift + N, nothing happens.
I realized my key bindings were different under Mesh in Edit mode.
Did it work now?
just alt R to make it flat as top view
Thanks for the tip! You mean to clear the rotation of the floor plan right?
Perfeitoooo!
Obrigado amigo!
Muito bom

odeio que o blender não tem um recursos simples de deixar um arquivo cad na proporção correta.
🤔 mas nao pode fazer o projeto inteiro no Blender? Por que precisa exportar a CAD?
where the photo ?
Huh?
You get your own
