Not the biggest fan of this band, but holy fuck, 2:47 is THALL as hell! Idk if these guys listen to Vildhjarta (or Hunaity's Last Breath), but they would have been proud of that little breakdown right there.
This reminds me of Slipknot. I even consider Sworn In's Death Card albumn to be nu metal, and it sounds unique in my opinion because it sounds more like Slipknot than all the other beat down/deathcore bands and has the same listening experience for me as Slipknot, which the listening experience for me is its very angry music to listen to if I'm pissed off, but not necessarily the most technical guitar parts to listen to and not the most "positive message" lyrics to listen to. That's okay that Sworn In doesn't have a "positive message", because the "positive message" is now even becoming generic with every new metalcore band having fans saying "you saved my life". While typing this text I was just listening to Hybrid Theory by Lincoln Park and seemlessly switched to listening to the Death Card by Sworn In.
Nick Foust The bass in that EP is incredible. Yeah, on the back of their record (The Death Card) it says Slipknot, Emmure and some others are influences. I'm definitely picking it up. I think they got the name Sworn In from "Being sworn in as president." Which is solid. I also sense a Structures influenced in the instrumental. that groove is fucking unreal.
