    this is why everyone thinks america is so eccentric.
    other countries' elections: everyone be super professional, lets just stick to tradition.
    'Murica: lets have a bunch of dudes rock out with saxophones during a presidential inauguration, just for the hell of it.

    • @corbeau-_-
      @corbeau-_- 3 роки тому +1

      I think they are eccentric because the people there eat up these shows and don't think about the wars they're being sent to fight (over oil, lies, or territorial influence - not freedom and democracy). That a corporate lobby is allowed - something the rest of the world would call corruption: its influence is baffling. That a Trump can become President and around 30-40% don't believe in global warming and vaccination - however they do believe in space lasers (at the moment), gps in their vaccines, rigged elections,
      The whole difference is the US puts up an act to become popular enough to get away with all kinds of questionable policies. Usually takes 4-8 year for the magic and the act to wear off. Then your electorate swings from the left to the right and the right does exactly the same, steering the economy towards recession. The mortgage/credit/oil/bank crises, whatever. The people will just go into debt and suffer to keep those big fat businesses floating (too big to fail). Only to allow some slick dude (like a Clinton, Obama) to give you some hope - which is only awarded in very small quantities.
      Having a party during an election is not that unheard of - but I don't know where you are from... Perhaps it is for you. A lot of countries don't have this much global stars.
      At any rate, US politicians don't want you to see the truth. That's why hollywood got big during the war, as a propaganda tool - which it still is to a certain extent. A part of the populace seems to figure this all out - with a little help of the internet. Bad part is that it goes into overdrive. It's just greed, people covering for eachother. It's not well planned...
      Like Nixon and Trump weren't well planned. When you are popular enough you can get away with basically anything. Still, US has the traditions. Bill got impeached and nearly fired over breaking one - while it had very little to do with politics itself.
      It was a nice auguration though. Also cost the millions and millions most tax-payers just don't want to pay, but there we are: politicians there just do whatever with taxes. Gerrymandering, outsourcing, giving tax exemptions,
      And the wonderful thing is everyone seems to forget all the other crap that happened - on policy. When we think of bill, we think of this Sax, we think 'I did not enhale', we think of his winkey getting wacked, of him 'not having sexual relations' with that woman. Nothing on policy.
      Similar shit for Obama. Trump did it differently, but he had the dicator rulebook - not the democratic veil of silent abuse. Dictators tend to be more miserable inside, less greedy. They just want recognition, badly... And he was also very American, Trump avoided nearly all the parties because the artists in the US generally don't like him. He just did his own shows, the rallies...
      Sorry, I was just amazed that you think this bit of 'feel good theatre' makes the world think the US is so eccentric. I hope you are alone - otherwise US propaganda even works abroad... It's a fine country, but also very deceitful in many, many ways... Not that different from Russia and China, though they use different books too... They abuse the general populace for personal glory. The US is just a little better in putting up shows...

    • @corbeau-_-
      @corbeau-_- 3 роки тому +1

      the show here was done well, I'd have to agree. US policies on the background and stuff people do when they think no one is watching has sort of ruined a lot for me, as you can see... US history is full of it - nothing seems to change... Only difference now is that is once again is at the level of the civil war, where one party just hates the other party's guts.

    • @goddepersonno3782
      @goddepersonno3782 2 роки тому +5

      America doesn't have rich traditions the same way europe or asia does
      so it makes sense that they're trying to make their own traditions by concentrating on American culture - the jazz scene has always been dominated by America so it's quite literally perfect for something like this

      Before I offer my favorite, I must say that I truly dig that they let David Sanborn and Grover Washington Jr. set it off. Their solos really seemed to compliment & complete one anothers. Really unique how both of them interpret the blues in their own way.
      Having said all that, I really LOVED Grover's solo! He made such a strong musical statement in a matter of seconds 😍

      The first song is Arkansas Traveler (Civil War tune a homage to Bill’s home state)
      The solos are 6-bar blues (with changes every measure to simulate a 12-bar blues) in Ab
      The ending is heartbreak hotel which Bill played during the campaign.

      he's absolutely solid with it to be fair though. that intro was a real anchor for the entire performance and i love his quiet confidence. as well as mulligan cooling the hot atmosphere down from everyone's else red-hot solos. two prime examples of how you dont need to blow 40 notes a second while twisting your body everywhere to make a great solo
