Every now and than I find a nice Casio with the little worldcard I buy it.
I think you should get a Seiko clock instead. Always get the Rolex clock didn’t match the mantra of the channel. I grabbed this one when the price finally fell below $80 and I love its Seiko Diver styling. Has a little bit of lumibrite on it and a sweeping seconds hand to boot. I love the new colour scheme in your spare bedroom! But I also loved all the weird stuff in your old spare bedroom (or whatever it was). All those books and strange items. It was interesting to see that all the content of your bookshelf was not just about Star Wars and watches: knowing about your academic endeavours, books about Nanjing tied into your character well. So while I admire the design of your new studio, I just hope you keep recycling all those weird and wonderful things around there. :) Thanks for keeping up the content over the years, Jody!

Jody, great move, and congrats on your "new" studio space, looks really nice. I would recommend placing some sort of poster-like pictures in the background in order to "muff" the sound as right now you have that echo effect. Maybe making a poster of your intro logo, and some other watch related pic. Anyway as for the copy of the watch, I guess you are right, if some company out there copied Zelos, I guess they doing something right. Keep up the great work mate!

I got a good sub $100 diver for you Jody! Steeldive 1954... Sapphire, NH35, Ceramic Lumed Bezel Insert, 200m. It has the best lume I've come across on an Aliexpress diver (probably comparable to San Martin)! The only stumble is the pressed clasp, but that can be fixed with a $7 milled clasp pick up. There are two options, which both reference back to pretty unique Sub variants: Comex Dials and Sultan of Oman Dials. Not sure if you've already seen it, but if not, I hope I caught your attention!

I just got "into" watches again this year, I enjoy it a lot! Your channel has helped shape what I'm currently looking into buying next and what I have currently. Thanks for the quality content! I have loved watches for a long time, ever since my first "real" watch I got for my birthday in 5th grade. It was an Armitron steel bracelet quartz movement with a day-date and day of the week function. This shaped my other purchases after also, as it still runs great today and I still wear it! I bought myself an Armitron dress watch for my wedding a few years ago, but have been looking at mechanical movements more and more. I had no idea that the Brigada Watch was an homage of a microbrand until a viewer left a comment on my review, haha. I did want to say that the Brigada is not brass or bronze, it's likely PVD coated Stainless Steel (it will not develop a patina). Now I'm gonna go look into this Zelos Mako II! Love the new set Jody. Can't say I'm surprised to see that copy, the faux meteorite dial is really pushing it however 😂 My Zelos Great White is still a favorite of mine. I'm so glad I grabbed one when I did.
Love the look of that new studio. However you need a vintage lava lamp bubbleing away in the background. Go with an orange colored one, they're extra groovy look. Love your videos and channel. The best watch channel on UA-cam.

Zelos are in some good company - check out Brigada's Amazon Store. They cheerfully copy Rolex, Hamilton, Longines. It's not all good news though - there's a bunch of fashion watches that have gone missing from the Daniel Wellington catalogue...

You know you've made it when people are knocking you off badly on Amazon! And you know you've REALLY made it and are perhaps getting a little too comfortable when even your homage is a spectacular watch in its own right (ahem, Submariner, Steinhart). I love it: Seiko inflates prices, Zelos, Axios, and the rest to the rescue. Then they make it, and things like this...it's like an horological version of nesting dolls ROFL.
I emailed Elshan Tang of Zelos stating that Zelos was no longer a microbrand (due to the number of watches being sold and sold out so quickly). Elshan Tang replied by saying he feels he is still a microbrand as everything is still being done by him. Although this maybe true the successfulness of Zelos (and now homages) says otherwise. Jody I’m glad we are on the same page here. 👍
I think it's still a microbrand because it does limited runs of models. Once it can supply models upon demand at any time perhaps then it is no longer a microbrand.

I've seen a few designs show up on AliExpress. At first I thought they were Zelos concept designs that hadn't been released yet. Then I realized they were just Photoshopping the dial to change it, but keeping the image of the case.
Only a suggestion, until you get the sound sorted in the room, get yourself a cheap chest mike; they do wonders for sound in strange areas. Not that your room is strange of course..😉

A good alternative to get rid of some of the echoes while you're still getting things set up is to cover all of the other walls with thick blankets/comforters while you record. It's not quite as good at cutting out echoes as studio foam but it works surprisingly well in a pinch.

The problem with big watches in videos is, that you get aware of EVERY cut (and how long it was). I dont like this.
