Thanks for the video. I bought one of these about 2 years ago and wish I didn't waste my money. If this kayak is at the top of your budget just save a little more and get something a bit better
What Kayak makes/models would you suggest as a better option? genuinely interested in your opinion as I have been looking into kayaks for a while now and am open to all kayaks but this model sounds perfect for me. Love the extra rod holders at the back and the extra rails front and back for the gopro. Im only a short bloke (5'3") so this has way more leg room then Id need and without name bashing other brands I have seen some kayaks at other fishing stores for the same price at this one (currently $799 on sale at the time of this comment) that dont have half the accessories that this one has.
Hi I would have saved for a tarpon 120 or maybe had a look at the freak sports models they have a nice range. Hine sight is a wonderful thing though. Don't get me wrong the Nextgen 10 is a solid build but I find the rudder pedals to be very weak and the kayak is a barge. Keep in mind I paddled an ocean kayaks scupper pro which was a bit of a rocket. I only switched to a fishing kayak to have more access to storage areas close by which is lacking on the scupper pro. I find for me the centre hatch annoying and would now prefer a flat deck instead. The kayak also sits quite tall in the water which isn't so pleasant in the wind. I even find my son's dragon slayer kayak to be a quicker ride and sits a little lower and a bit easier to manoeuvre, unfortunately it shares the same cheap rudder and pedals. It really comes down to what you need. Some of the things I saw in the photo when I bought the Nextgen 10 appealed to me but when I finally got it out on the water it was disappointing.
Hi Tim this is very interesting. I’ve been looking at either this or the dragon kayak 3m slayer. Would you say your sons kayak is more stable than this one being a bit lower to the water?
@@lukekenealy7054 Hi I don't find too much difference in the stability of the two. They do have different hull designs which gives each kayak a very stable ride.
Mate that saved me a shitload of time. Thanks heaps. Now to christen the beast.

Very well appointed, but where do you keep your fish? It is a fishing kayak, after all.
