When you actually realise 4K monitors are actually 2K monitors based on the measurements for FHD & QHD. Both FHD & QHD take height measurements as their resolution yet '4k' takes the width!! Why?! Somebody explain why you need a 'more' powerful graphics card to 'utilise' a '4K' monitor?!
I don't know, it's quite strange tbh. To run 4k 60hz or more you need a port and graphics card that works for it. To run games at 4k native you need a powerful GPU that can render 4k at decent framerate. But if you just want office tasks you don't need it.

For Mac users I would say that scaling can be an issue much more that with Windows. Macs don't scale very well 1440p screens, and if you run them natevely things may look a bit too small... I wouldn't go below 4k with a Mac (unless is a small 22in monitor which could be ok at 1080p)
@@w2best Yeah because they don't offer suitable highdpi (=retina) scaling for those resolutions. You can scale lower than 1440p but then you are not getting the sharpness that your monitor could provide. Or you can scale it natively but then things will look too small. Or you can pick one of the retina scalings but things will look too large... With 4k and 5k monitors instead you can get suitable retina scaling
@@w2best What Macs generally do is cut in half the native resolution to give you retina scaling. 4k cut in half is 1080p scaling which is fine on anything from 22 to 27in. 1440p cut in half is 1280X720... which is too big on a desktop monitor. So you can scale at 1080p but then lose the 1440p sharpness or you can use 720 retina but then things look too big... Maybe some people are ok with 1440p native, but for me it's too small

You touched on it but I think it’s important to highlight and might be worth an extra video but upscaling and downscaling can effect your decision on which resolution you go with especially if you are just a content consumer. 1440p is easier to run than 4K and 1440p looks better on a 1440p monitor than 1440p on a 4K monitor. Meanwhile 4K looks better than 1440p when downscaled on a 1440p monitor. So for less demanding games there’s still an option to bump the resolution up. The question is, how much better does 4K on a 4K monitor look than 4K on a 1440p monitor (of the same size)?! $300 better? I dunno. Haven’t tested the two on the same monitor size myself.
4K doesn't mean 4 x 1080p. It is 4x the size, but that's NOT what 4k means. 4K is short for 4096 pixels, or "4 thousand", which was the original theater resolution. 3860px is just a easier to produce version and matches the 16:9 panel shape of the 720p & 1080p. And this 3860 got branded as "UHD", which is technically different than 4K!. But due to marketing, companies ran with the "4K" nomenclature. Seriously though, get it right.....

I can also get the exact same processor, but with only the “H” (not “HK”). • Graphics Card: NVIDIA® GeForce RTX™ 3080 Ti, 16 GB GDDR6 • Display: 17.3", QHD 2560x1440, 165Hz, Non-Touch, 3ms, Advanced Optimus, ComfortView Plus, NVIDIA G-SYNC Could I still get full use of an external UHD (4K) monitor? Could I still get full use of a Wide (bowed) UHD (4K) monitor like you displayed in your video? I especially like how you get 3 screens within 1 wide screen, or one really wide screen for video editing. Unfortunately, when I select the UHD display option at Dell’s website, the website restricts all the hardware and software options to lesser ones. Seems very dumb.

Intel® Core™ i7-1255U (up to 4.7 GHz, 12 MB L3 cache, 10 cores, 12 threads) + NVIDIA® GeForce RTX™ 2050 Laptop GPU (4 GB)
32 GB DDR4-3200 MHz RAM (2 x 16 GB)
Thanks.
Rtx2050?
I want to see if 120hz oled vs 1440p 144/165 hz is a big difference since oled has that super fast response time
I don't have Oled at alla so I can't tell you that right now. :(
where did u get that scarf from?
You're the first person ever asking this! I got it in a tiny store outside cape town, I've worn it all every day since, and wish I could get more somewhere 😊
@@w2best its very common in Nepal, India. 100% cotton, Quite comfortable and useful in summer. I thought u bought it here or u must have some friend from this region. :)

Hello, nice video, i would like to buy a monitor soon, but i don't know which is the best between à Qhd 144hz/165hz, and à 4k with 144hz
I have already a monitor with 240fps, FHD for my pc, it's for a seconde one so, my pc is build with a rtx 3060ti/ryzen 5600x/Motherboard:Asus b550 gaming f-wifi and more
I would like to know if my pc is strong to take a nice 4k monitor or not, i do a lot of video watching, film, movie and more, so not just only for gaming
Thank you very much 😊
Vilken 21:9 monitor arbetar du med hemma?
Huawei mateview 34 soundbar! Har en review av den på kanalen.
@@w2best Ser att det är en VA pandel... hörde att man "bör" ha IPS för hemarbete... men tycker du denna funkar bra ändå?
Hi! I like your reviews and tutorials, because they are very professional and up to point. I connect my laptop to Samsung U28R550UQR 28" 4K 1 bilion colours monitor via PD and it's perfect fit. BTW, can You tell me the name of the wallpaper on 4K monitor or even better could You link this wallpaper here?
The wallpaper is just a standard one from apple. Should be included on all Mac i believe. :)
I got LG 32 ultra gear 750g never go back to 27inch Acer predetor
gamchaa lapete ho UP/Bihar se ho kya??
Man i dont understand is your face 2k monitor or 4k monitor))) why did you show your face then you are talking about monitors)))😅
It’s the sarcasm for me 😂
Ahaaa... Then you came to watch his contents for free but demanded the B-rolls. What a good life of you
I don't really understand the comment can you fix the spelling, phrasing and make it clearer please? Why would you not comment in a clear way so I can reply? 😉😉😉
@@qayyumhaydeit means you are paying for 😂😂
4k never been a big jump pics and vids for years shown this,4k is a medium jump
now 5k from 1440p is a big jump
led oled which is better ?
Oled!! But pricey.
Really really hard to decide:::
I have 4060ti GPU
1. Which one is better for gaming FHD vs QHD vs 4K?
2. is FHD with 240HZ better than QHD/4K with 60 HZ
3. Is 4k monitor eye straining?
4. Is UHD means 4K?
5. Is HDR10 better than HDR400?
Many thanks in advance!!!!!
Do either 4k 60 or qhd more than 60.
It depends your budget. Not everyone can afford 4K monitor
If you get the one I have it's 400 dollars. Pretty decent! ;)
@@w2best I don't even have $400. Is FHD good with with 24 inch monitor with a Mac Air M1?
@@Shubham89453 You should still be able to get a QHD either 24 or 27" on that budget :)
Effect? It's affect.

I dont have to get it right because you could provide such a great explanation! 😊

OMG, what a very excellent and comprehensive video. Thank you.
While I could ask Dell, I’m looking for an independent answer.
QUESTION: With a Dell Alienware x17 R2 Gaming LAPTOP with:
• PROCESSOR: 12th Gen Intel® Core™ i9-12900HK (24 MB cache, 14 cores, 20 threads, up to 5.00 GHz Turbo). I can also get the exact same processor, but with only the “H” (not “HK”).
• Graphics Card: NVIDIA® GeForce RTX™ 3080 Ti, 16 GB GDDR6
• Display: 17.3", QHD 2560x1440, 165Hz, Non-Touch, 3ms, Advanced Optimus, ComfortView Plus, NVIDIA G-SYNC
Could I still get full use of an external UHD (4K) monitor?
Could I still get full use of a Wide (bowed) UHD (4K) monitor like you displayed in your video?
I especially like how you get 3 screens within 1 wide screen, or one really wide screen for video editing.
Unfortunately, when I select the UHD display option at Dell’s website, the website restricts all the hardware and software options to lesser ones. Seems very dumb.
Oh yes with that machine you can pretty much blast anything you want! Sky is the limit! Thank you! I'm glad you like the video! :D
