- True "center shot" risers are less common than you would think.
Construction and the amount of extra material needed make them far trickier to produce than other risers.
+++UPDATE: After experiencing the S&H riser over the course of a few months I approached them with a view to forming a partnership. I am very pleased to announce that they agreed and as a result their risers are now available via Robin Hood Archery!+++

The Icaro from S&H Bows uses a mix of wood and micarta to achieve the goal of producing a true center shot riser that is robust enough to withstand all of the forces being asked of it.
In this particular 1000 shot test and review the S&H riser was coupled with carbon "Monolith" limbs from Uukha.
The VX+ limbs are simply superb!
Check out the video for all my thoughts....
*in the video I mention that I thought the limbs were "600+ euros", it turns out that its a VERY big plus. The VX+ limbs are actually currently retailing at around 850euro

Kev, good to see you shooting again and can't wait to see more, I do enjoy your videos. Hope all is well with you and yours. Thank you.
Thank you for this review and especially taking the silencers off! I like to always see what a bow does without anything attached to see what it's true nature is. You are the first one to do this-Love it!
Wowww, very fast and smooth. I'm very impressed, thanks for the video :D
One beautiful setup for sure looks bloody quick too mate
Hello. Thank you for the great video. I Think, I have seen it about 8-10 times now. Because of your video, I contacted Harry From S&H and ordered a Kronos riser and Uukha limbs . So Im very excited to get it Home :)
Excellent! You will love the bow! Where abouts in the world do you come from?
Yeah I hope that. Im shooting with a Bear Kodian t/k right now.. Im from Denmark :)
@@brianbuschmuller3798 and you didnt order from me? 🤣
Sorry for that 😁 I had many questions and It was easier for me, to have direct contact 😊
if you use a classic bow with stabilisation, etc, 1,6 kg is not heavy, but stable enough for hunting or 3D competition !
UUkha (french product around 1000 €) gives a linear draw and witn the VX serie you feel like 4-5 pounds lighter than foam carbon limbs around 150 €
the Sx 50 is more affordable (440 €), same smoothness but the Vx is 10fps faster (justify the price)...
nice vid man
Nice vid Kev. I'm still unsure about what mycarta is as this bow seems to have wood grain in the mycarta section, but some I've read is made with linen.
Hi Sue, mycarta (as I understand it) is impregnated resin (and as you say impregnated with linen) and can therefore take a lot of stress.... But that does increase the mass weight 🙂 On my S&H riser the mycarta section does look textured which gives it even more character.
really nice review, i have test exactly the same set up on my youtube channel. S&Hbows riser and VX+ limbs! it's awesome!
845€ for the limbs ;) A very expensive but gorgeous bow!
Great video, thanks...
Hello, is it possible to lock the tiller srews in any way? I doesn't seem so. In my experience this leeds to loosing the right tiller. Or you have to check after every assembly of the bow.
Hi Chris, this is a non adjustable (fixed tiller) riser to conform to WA rules
@@RobinhoodarrowsRHA Ok, thank you for the answer! Nice bow, but not for me. I own two pairs of Uukha limbs which I've shot for years. On one the upper limb recurve is slightly of to the right, so side adjustment is necessary. Not being able to "custom" tiller the limbs seems a disadvantage too (necessary for 3 fingers under or split finger). Maybe S&H is able to make limb bolts for the exact tiller you need.
what's the physical mass of those limbs each not the draw weight
Belíssimo arco!, ! E que lugar lindo!!
I know im asking the wrong place but does someone know a tool to log back into an Instagram account??
I was dumb forgot my account password. I would love any help you can give me
@Lincoln Francisco instablaster =)
@Prince Francis Thanks for your reply. I found the site through google and I'm waiting for the hacking stuff now.
Seems to take quite some time so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
@Prince Francis It worked and I actually got access to my account again. I am so happy:D
Thanks so much, you really help me out!
@Lincoln Francisco Glad I could help :)
If you think these are smooth, try the Border CV9 limbs. Have a look on Border Bows Facebook page for the videos. They load initially, then they do not put on any weight at all until you are nearly at full draw, then you get several pounds of actual let off. They are expensive, but they are incredible. And they are quiet, very quiet.
the uukha vx+ actually does this too.
the curve profile is similar to a hex6 and feels somewhere between a hex6 and 8.
The uukha's are a lot slimmer and thinner than the boarders and can have a bit more of a whip to them. maybe a bit louder and finicky to get the tuning right.
I feel that the uukha's are more forgiving than the radical limbs by boarders with the carbon being so stiff it's nigh on impossible to torque the string just like a long bow.
I really want to get a set of cv9 limbs when I get the chance.
oh another difference, uukha's do not specify a minimum arrow weight and will not void warranty if going for a really light and fast arrow.
G'day,
Just wondering what quiver you are using and where did you get it?
Cheers mate
Its a Lakota style quiver that I developed myself and had put into production by my leather elves...
robinhoodarchery.eu/product/rha-lakota-quiver/
the riser is really beautiful, but no lateral adjustment is really a deal breaker for me.
no matter how tight the tolerances are, over the length of the limb even 1/1000 is enough to put the string off center.
also even if the riser is perfect, what about the limbs?
Im 100% sure that bow is and will always outshoot you, if shooting trad there is simply no way you can decern the difference. with an Olympic style recurve setup with sights, MAYBE.
Are those long limbs ?
Which course are you shooting at and what Association?
I was shooting on a course in Germany which sadly no longer exists. The forest area was devastated by bark beetle.
No association
the riser has a very short window sight
looked like a really peaceful idealistic forest, until that ford white transit drove past 🤣🤣🤣
Dunno... I have seen centershot wood risers that not as chunky in hand and have proper lateral and tiller adjustments, unlike this one. Whoever makes these risers should really get back to drawing board.
Wow that riser is so nice! Pairing the uukha limbs is not a good idea. The carbon will allways be ugly near the ilf pocket because of the outer layer chipping to easily. An open pocket design is no match imo.
Limbs are worth it, riser isn't for me.
