One time I made such an ugly spread and it kept bothering me. So after I finished the week, I went back and wrote across it in big letters, “UGLY SPREAD”. Lol I learned to accept it and to look forward to the new week ahead. Don’t look back 😂😂😂😂
hahaha I've glued extra pages in and redone it! I think I've done that twice but I just hated the spread so much. Both times it was that damn wellness layout.
I wish I'd found disc bound planners sooner. They are a total game changer for me. I'll add, if you need a particular layout in your planner but cant find it anywhere premade, create it yourself and just print it out.
Yes to writing things down being helpful, I tell my students this all the time about taking notes! They ask why I'm asking them to write them instead of type on their laptops, and I tell them the act of writing is what commits it to memory. With tearing out pages, I tore two whole months out of my teacher planner, lol. I only use that planner at school, so I took out June and July because I don't need them and having blank months would bother me. I've been thinking about gluing the perpetual calendar pages together in my home planner, because I also don't use them! The big thing I learned that I wish I knew earlier is not to try to transport my planner between work and home. I need to keep my planner open on my desk in order to make myself use it, so I keep one planner on my desk at work and one open on my desk at home. Having these two separate planners has really helped me. And yes, I need to decorate with all the stickers to keep myself interested! Oh, and I also wish I'd known I could buy photo albums from the Dollar Tree to store my stickers before I bought a bunch of expensive sticker albums.
yes to the little photo albums for sticker holders!!! Great for die cuts etc too. And agreed, having a "home" for planners is essential. Sounds like you have a good system set up!!!
I need to remember it’s okay to try a different planner layout at any time. I don’t know why this was an issue. Maybe just because I felt it was wasteful or something. IDK. I love the creativity involved in this planning process. Like you said, it’s therapeutic. I love my planner time.
Great video! The thing I wish I knew when I started planning was to cut stickers to suit my needs. That was a game changer. The other thing I had to learn over time was to cover up the section titles with headers and write my own in there. Every week I need a sector for food prep.
Wish I'd known about disc planners sooner. I love frankenplanning so much. I love how adjustable it all is and how I can change things throughout the year. Also, your videos helped me realize that stickers are meant to be cut! Lol The thing I need a CRAP TON of work on is the ritual / habit of daily planning. I am terrible at this and feel I'm missing a big benefit.
Yep gotta make it a habit. For me getting the planner tote to "house" my planners and essentials was key. I can carry what I need easily and move from room to room (or outside) with everything.
I love to make my own planners. 2025 will be an art journal so I won't have to pen test the pages. There are only enough pages to do 4 months, but I got a good deal on three. I really enjoyed my half letter sized 3 ring binder too. I could deco the outside for the seasons. Love your videos.
Thank you for doing this video! I so need to do frankenplanning for this new year coming up to keep track of all the things and everyone in the family's schedules and appointments too!
Yes to forget about FOMO and focusing on what works for me❤
Ah yes the dreaded FOMO! It's funny Reenie and I were both talking about how we totally forgot that Happy Planner had a black friday sale!
wish i knew how to control my buying! 😂❤
love your tips - thanks for sharing 😊
That's a common one - I've been there! 😆

That's a great tip! I'll still have a great week even if I don't like the spread I decorated for myself.

Totally agree, just get creative and print your own layouts! I did that for dashboard in 2022!

It is totally okay to change layouts! It’s just like in life, sometimes you need to try something new! And YOU determine that time!!!
Great video!

I'm so glad to hear you made your planner work for you. It's amazing how small adjustments can make such a difference!

❤❤❤
I wish I would have known that I could have many planners and that I could explore multiple layouts.
right? Why do we feel constrained to other peoples "rules"?
@ I know right!

Frankenplanning is the only way to go IMO when you have a lot to track!
