  • so here I made a bowl using some resin and i called it the golden portal. You will see why. I mixed some gold dust with it. the dust really works well. In this video I also had an accident, which was scary.

Ehmm . . . been doing a fair amount of turning without my shield. This may be a timely reminder! Thanks for sharing. Haven't done any resin work yet, yours has turned out pretty darn good and the dowel 'fill' was not noticeable. A good job.

Came out great! I was sorry to see the swirling in the gold puttered out as it dried. Would have been cool to have the swirls stay after it dried.

Beautiful piece, as usual. ☺️ Nice save using the putty to cover the space where the dowel broke. I have to say though, that is one gorgeous piece of wood. I don’t know how much is due to how it was shaped or the tree itself but the grain and the color shades on there are pure perfection!

Lovely project as the result of great turning. I'm experimenting with epoxy at the moment so your upload is very timely for me.
When I started turning I was a bit careless about safety until I got "clunked" on the face a few times. I've gradually upgraded my face shield to the one your now using. Before I turn on my lathe I automatically put on my face shield just as I put on my seat belt in the car.
Looking forward to more videos from you.

I don't think I've seen you turn one but here is an idea. how about a bowl within a bowl. large bowl like in this video but leave sort of a smaller hollowed out section within the bowl for chips and dip!

Your intro and out to always seem like an angry or scary tone untimnthe guitar stars and it doesn't fit the video to me. Just a thought. But I love your videos and Idek y. I'm 15, my parents don't even own a lathe, and we don't have any wood carving tools. We don't have any sort of craft resin I could use without turning either, so really, I just watch u bc it's entertaining. I wonder why it enterrains me so much
