Your enthusiasm is a joy, Denis. I love how passionate you are about these books. Thanks for sharing your insights and creating a welcoming space for esoteric exploration. Your channel is a gem!
Deeply honored that the Work of Anathema still resonates a lot with you and that this year’s Semesilam, beautifully presenting the earlier body of work of Jose, has a distinct place in your Top 10! Encore merci mon cher!
Wow you're enthusiasm is infectious! Enjoy your channel sooo much. Thank you for all your hard work this year, and for being a wonderful grindstone for sorting the fantastic wheat from the rather large amount of chaff 🌝. You've been my guide into a world I was looking for but couldn't find. Infine gratitude 🙏❤️
As we got towards the end I was thinking "I can't believe he didn't put the Moon and Serpent Bumper Book of Magic in his top ten" and then BAM first place lol. Perfection. Great video, I got the bumper book because of your review and I will have to get some of these other ones as well.
Wonderful video! I'm going to explore your videos and see if you have these reviews for previous years. It would be super helpful though if you could link each book in the video description!
It seems inconsequential but perhaps you do do a short segment on the plastic covers for the paperbacks you use. I’ve got several books of varying heights and thickness I would like to protect but I don’t have a clue as to which brands of covers would work best. Or should I investigate alternative methods?
What! A! List! Thanks Denis - I'm relieved my shelf already shares its space with most of them - couldn't agree more on your choices! We may live in strange times but we can't say we weren't spoiled in some way watching this recap...
I’d love to see you do a video on Occult Fiction recommendations. Tartarus press do beautiful editions of Strange/Occult Fiction. Very much worth looking into.
My significant other just bought me the Mysteriorum Libri Quinque book and I’m reading the introduction now. We saw you review this book not long ago and I said I was going to buy it and he (significant other), ordered it right then. 🙂
The Moon and Serpent Bumper Book of Magic and Hellinc Tantra were my two favorite occult books of the year. I was hoping Peter Gray's Lucifer Praxis was going to drop at the end of this year as it was my most anticipated but I guess we are getting it early next. So I'll be getting my most anticipated book of now 2025 early.
@@ne0n.genes1s I've studied Shivate and Shakti tantra academically in graduate school and am quite familiar with Vajryana and it always struck me that they seemed to have some relationship with the grecco mystery schools. Gregory Shaw sees similar connections between Greek theurgy and the tantras. My only complaint is that Shaw underestimates how much sorcery has historically been part of these tantrik lineages.
I'm pretty new to Esoteric content. For a beginner, can you recommend for me 5 works that can help get me started and learn the basics/essentials. I do have Taschen's The Secret Teachings of All Ages by Manly P. Hall, Taschen's Book of Symbols, and Alchemy & Mysticism by Taschen as well. I haven't started them, but would this be a good start for me? Thanks 🙂
I love the Bumper book! It’s right here beside me. I have two, a reader copy to keep handy, and another set aside to collect. Denis, do you ever buy an additional copy of a book for similar purposes?
People have already stopped talking about the Bumper Book, once the initial excitement died down. When I actually dug into the text, i found it long-winded and vague, lacking in practical elements (the headings are misleading) and the admonition never to practice results magic makes it hard to recommend to a beginner
Don't worry about making a mistake, only God does not make errors. The cathedral and church architects used to make their chancels to be not perfectly straight, ie not perfectly aligned, the so-called "weeping chancels". It was also said to portray Christ leaning his head to one side on the Cross.

I just measure the height of the book and Google "plastic book cover [height]" and pick a local listing 😄
Fantastic. Merry Christmas, Denis!
#1 was a very interesting choice. I must buy a copy!
Thank you for all of your work, Foolish Fish!

I do believe that contentwise, Ike Bakers formless fire is missing here. The content is just pure gold and top of the top academic info!
Oooohhh Mat's tarot book hasn't been on my radar. I'll have to check that out.
I’d love to see you do a video on Occult Fiction recommendations.

Omg hellenic tantra has been sitting in my cart for awhile now. How was it?

Yes! These are fine starting points! 😄👌
Hi any comic or graphic novels relating to the esoteric you have? Anything there that has made it to your collection?
I come here to decide where my gift card money will go. 💝
As always, I appreciate the tips, even if my wallet does not.❤
