This is by far the best usability demo I have seen for the Duo. It also best capture the potential of the device. I wished I had seen this video before I returned my Duo, I may have been more willing to put up with all the software issues until addressed by a future update...
Thanks for the kind words! And you could always wait until the software updates are released, then get it again on a discount sometime later. Either that, or look into getting the Fold 2. I just got mine and I'll be doing a comparison between the Duo and Fold 2 soon. Both are incredible devices, but aimed at very different markets.

I don’t mind the bezels on the screens but this gap between both displays should be significantly smaller and less shiny and distracting in version 2.0 But even then it will only bevy niche product and have it‘s fans.
have had mine for a couple days, love the potential on this and definitely believe this is the right direction for the productivity geared users... also love and use the same bible widget :)
No kidding - thinking same thing. THey need more demo's of all the features of the DUO. I imagine a ton of people buy it, don't know all the options and send it back before getting to experience all it has to offer (including reviewers)

There is a way to do that in the s7 edge but i forget how cuz i personally did not like it. it was really hard to get rid of the app/maximize it again.

I don't even know why Microsoft didn't use these features for its promos. Maybe they need to hire you! This is what an objective review of a device should be. It hurts when people just take a device, hardly explore what it can do, and just copy everything else they have heard another shallow reviewer say and put it out there for people to watch. This is what it means to really use a device. And let me guess, you were not sent a press kit for review right? I just subbed. Can't wait for my Duo to arrive. Many of the “software bugs” that have been reported, is it just poor Microsoft QA as usual or is it that users just don’t know how to use the device as usual?

Kudos to you , such an amazing job, other youtubers did not know much of the features you explained!! I do have a follow up query for you though, Is there a way to have widgets to appear on both screens when the phone is opened. If there's a way that I could see my weather, news updates on the left screen & have other widgets like Google email & calendar show on the right screen....would be a great deal if you could share recommendations! I'm absolutely loving the Duo, yes the camera is average, but it's still adequate have a look at the Duos form factor, you have a learning curve with the OS and its navigation gestures, but that's what you want, and expect on a new category for a device, Microsoft is pushing usability to the extreme, with the Duo, and most so called tech UA-cam Bigshots, have no idea what it is, and how much of a big deal it is, and have panned the Duo, it's not a smartphone....its so much more! 😉
I have not seen any demo on Duo that display's the inner working of this device like you did, Thank you, I gave up my iPhone 12 Max Pro 256GB for my Duo. I look forward to your youTube video's.
I wish they would allow for the keyboard to be angled to a 45, (with the text also angled) so you could hold the phone by the corner...like you were holding a triange...and input quickly without having to fold the duo.
have been using the Duo from day 1 and never knew half of these things. WOW. Super well put together. The floating apps app which one is it as there are a few on playstore. Would be great if you could link the right one to use. I downloaded one but that crashed the phone so it must be the wrong one. Thx again for the awesome review

Just got my duo today after weeks of watching reviews on Samsung fold and Note also Razr. I am so glad I went with duo the multi-tasking with dual screens is just awesome. I went to my cell store and the fold screen is to bulky and screen feels like plastic. I also was looking at Razr but was not sold the way Microsoft has designed th duo is the future of folding devices maybe they can incorporate a sliding device or flex glass in between the 2 screens. There was reviews on camera and to be honest camera works great and the speaker is fine. Most of the time I hook up to blootooth speaker for better audio. I would suggest to anyone to get this device hold off on the Fold and Razr.
2:11 Why would you do that when you can use the entire other screen as a keyboard? Increase the size of the keyboard using the setting to Full and then just rotate the displays so one is below the app that you want type into and use both hands to type into wherever you need to type. Rotate back and the keyboard goes away. You can do that with either screen.
FANTASTCI! It is a Phablet! For reading in a giant mobile screen with comfortable opened eyes, or whatching movies while browsing on the other site... Just perfect!
6:40 you can use "scrcpy" to do this with any phone but you need to connect it via usb I could not get "your phone" on windows to do this with my s7 edge
Just to point out, the fingerprint recognition isn't exclusive to Surface Duo. I have it on my Xperia Z5 with android 7.1. otherwise, this video is great! kudos to him
Does anyone know the settings for this: I can't get Floating Apps to open across both windows. I can't get the Floating Icon to unpin from the Right side of the Right window and just float wherever I want to sit it. I used to have it like this on Surface Duo 1, not on Surface Duo 2. Watch out though the photos one transfers via Your Phone App are previews in the sense that the are reduced at least in size (quality I haven't checked yet).
Question on multiple app iterations: does it work for the app "files"? Can I have two windows open: one on the left where I cut a file, and one on the right where I paste it. If not, can someone try with the app fx. I know it supports the split window mode. Is it possible to spread the two windows on the duo.
A lot of interesting and useful information. Now I can print in my native language, the translation is immediately entered in the text field. Browser Doesn't open up like the one in the video. But the link in the new window was opened, and this is how the two edge applications work
Just got this phone and it's absolutely amazing. All the reviewers who gave this the thumbs down must be getting paid by Apple and Samsung. Really really neat device.
I really hate the size of the bezel on top and bottom. It looks like a few of generations behind. However, I liked the dual screen much better than LG's and other's. If they could put little more focus on the screen bezel, it could be an amazing device.
And I found a bug in your video. When registering same fingerprint 5 times, accuracy won't increase. It only increases your chances to unlock, but not accuracy. Finger prints doesn't work in combination. Its a OR operation not an AND operation.

Probably because most other videos were likely using pre-release software if they received the devices early. If you watch my unboxing and overview video, you'll see that it boots up with the 3 button navigation. It could have also made the change when I transferred all the data from my old phone to the Duo. If it switched when I made the transfer, that could explain why I had some gesture issues when I first started using the phone.
Interesting, I'm starting to think it happened when transferring all the data then. Also, are you in the US or a different country? It might be different by region.

Mine doesn't either. I think that feature was removed in one of the updates.

The bezels are for when you hold the device vertically... The bezels give you something to hold onto so you don't accidentally touch the screen.

Can you add a dual start to replace one of the 6 apps on the bottom?
