Merci Dylane ! I’ve subscribed to Babbel and Memrise, and agree with your comments for both. I’ve never tried LingoPie, but it sounds interesting since my goal is to watch French TV and movies without subtitles. My other goal is to learn real spoken French, the way French people actually speak to friends and family, rather than « school French » or written French. So, with the exception of LingoPie, I think there is so much free content on UA-cam that the other apps are not really worth the money. The main disadvantage that I have found with UA-cam free content is that there is usually not any guidance on how to structure the videos…that is, what order is best to watch them for a more logical learning experience. Thank you for your videos and for these reviews !
I personally use Rosetta Stone in conjunction with French grammar books as well as watching your videos to help break down different concepts. I watch all of my tv shows in French and have my phone set in French. I like the immersion method. It really helps me to speak naturally. But I also use French grammar workbooks on the side as well as watching your videos. My goal is to read, speak, listen, and write fluently in French and I feel that the combination of Rosetta Stone plus studying my grammar books as well as watching your videos and watching tv in French has really advanced my French quite a bit! A year ago I could barely understand spoken French but now I can have a tv show or movie in French playing in the background at normal speed and still understand 80%-90% of what has been said. My ear is now very trained to the sounds of French. 🎉
Leland this is amazing! You can be proud of yourself 😍 Feel free to share what you are watching. People always ask about it :) I also have a video about 10 movies to watch so I would love to know :)

Thanks for the breakdown of the different apps available, the choices today are quite vast. I think the most important thing from my own perspective is to find maybe two or three apps that you like and get on with the task of learning the language. In the early days, I wasted far too much time checking every new app that came along, hoping for a silver bullet that would do away with having to do the work of learning the language. You are a great teacher and you always go the extra mile/kilometer to offer value for money, so many thanks, I wish you well.
Very helpful Dylane. Thank you for doing all the research. I use Pimsleur as it helps with listening, pronunciation, and "producing" - just getting the words out in a useful sentence, but I supplement it with other materials - and your online videos, of course. The spaced repetition aspect of Pimsleur is great!
For me nothing can compare to the videos done (and also podcasts done) by such great French teachers online, starting with you Dylane, and many others that can easily be discovered. I follow their videos, and of course you can then choose to buy the programs they offer (like I have done with your books!). I'm on German now, my 3rd language, and I have learned so much from my own mistakes in previous language learning, like wasting a year in Spanish and not being able to speak at all at the end of that (I was using a program similar to Babbel, which is indeed great but you can't just use that, it has to be supplemented with your own readings, videos, language partners, etc). I agree that many of these apps are very good, especially for A1 - B1/2, I'm just working through the mysteries of basic German grammar (mon dieu) with Babbel and Busuu now (and like 5 minutes of DuoLingo every day just to warm up), but ultimately there is no substitute for extended listening and interaction with others. à bientôt Beefy !

I have both Lingo Pie and Memrise. I like both a lot. I like Lingo Pie for all of the reasons you stated, Dylane. For Memrise, I like that I can scroll and select tenses, words, phrases etc, specific to certain subjects. I used Duolingo for well over 1000 days straight. It was an app that did not actually teach me but reviewed what I had learned. What I disliked about it and why I finally stopped was the sentences were ridiculous. I do not need to speak about cows in the bathroom or dinosaurs whatever. One reason I really liked Busuu (at first) is one of your cons: At the A1 level there is a lot of repetition, and there is also a review after every several lessons (every 5, if I remember correctly). But after A1, the repetition and lesson reviews mainly go away. The assumption seems to be if you've seen something once, you never need to study it again. That's not how I learn. After A1, I began encountering more and more mistakes in their modules. It seems their quality control procedure is to wait for their customers to point these out. Their language exchange can be helpful and annoying. If you log in for even a split second, Busuu immediately asks you to correct the submissions of someone who is studying your native language. So each time you sit down, for instance, to study French, the app is asking you to review someone's English. Now that I'm somewhere around B1 in French, it would be nice to find an app that is rich in content (sorry, Duolingo) and would allow me to easily skip to that level. Most apps aren't designed that way. At least, none that I've tried have come close to your ever-expanding content. Another book coming.-- how do you do it?

I don’t only use Language learning app to study a language, because I know they’re just a tool to study, but not a system to learn languages. I personally love using Drops because I always don’t know where to get vocabulary, and Drops is an app that focusing on vocabulary, so I use drops everyday to make sure that I can have new words to learn everyday and input. But grammar,Conjugation,Pronunciation etc. are also very important so I also have to study these things.
out of all these apps, which one would you recommend? Currently I go to school twice a week in France but I need to study a lot more, I think I am A+/- 1. haha! merci bien!
I tried to learn italian with Memrise, and I found it very confusing and lacking structure. The vocabulary jumped from simple words to whole sentences. Also no grammar explanation at all. Few years back I bought a Rosetta Stone lifetime subscription for all languages. I finished italian but not was really able to speak or understand, so far away from the promised B1 level. This year I started to learn french with Rosetta Stone (my lifetime subscription) and Babbel. Rosetta Stone uses exactly the same sentences and images for all languages 😞 Babbel is fine but sometimes they progress very fast and sometimes very slow. And the grammar lessons could be more detailed and repetitive. I think the best way is to combine different resources...
Hi, I'm new here!! I decided to learn French. What advice could you give for a begginer? Because honestly I don't know where to start. I am trying to get familiar with the language, I'm doing that by listening to podcasts or videos on youtube for beginners, but I don't know if this is a good way to start. I speak Portuguese, Spanish and English, but this is the first time I've got completely lost about learning a new language.
Learn pronunciation first. That will give you a great foundation because spoken and written French are not the same. I have a playlist that you can just watch. Check out my page. Also, get my self-study guide on my website (go to freebies) and just follow the lessons :)
@@TheperfectfrenchwithDylane Now Assimil seems to have an app, for Android, iOs, Windows and Mac: e-course French. Yes, there is a book for it, but I don't think you have to have it to use the app. Anki is also an app, not a book (at least I don't know of a book for it).
Does Lingo Pie have only Français series or does it have series from Quebec? As being an Anglo Quebecer it's always a struggle to find French learning content that's relevant to where I'm from.
Honnêtement bien que je apprenne Français je n’utilise jamais une app l’apprendre parce que quand je veux pratiquer mon français, je préfère simplement parler avec les français eux-memes dans les serveurs de discord par exemple où tu peux simplement rejoindre un serveur et apprendre du début mais peut être j’obtiendrai une app à l’avenir Merci professure pour l’aider

@@TheperfectfrenchwithDylane She even replies to UA-cam comments, lol… too sweet. 🙏
I will check this one out :)
Great video, thank you 🙏
My pleasure!
Merci beaucoup, professeur Dylan!
Pas de quoi :)
out of all these apps, which one would you recommend? Currently I go to school twice a week in France but I need to study a lot more, I think I am A+/- 1. haha! merci bien!
You are simply the best 😁
🥰
You deserve more than 👍
I tried to learn italian with Memrise, and I found it very confusing and lacking structure.
I had no idea for the images! That would bother me so much!
@@TheperfectfrenchwithDylane I totally forgot to thank you for the review. Thank you Dylane!
My favourites are Babbel, Pimsleur and Rosetta Stone. All three have little different approaches but do their job well.
Thank you for Sharing
I'd like to see you review Assimil French With Ease, Anki (both apps), and maybe even French in Action, although it is a video series.
I don't review books since I also have books :(
@@TheperfectfrenchwithDylane Now Assimil seems to have an app, for Android, iOs, Windows and Mac: e-course French. Yes, there is a book for it, but I don't think you have to have it to use the app. Anki is also an app, not a book (at least I don't know of a book for it).
Excellent and VERY helpful video, complete with adoable dog!!
Merci 🤩
Thank you for this! Do you have any feedback for LinQ? I want to supplement the study I want to start...
I haven't spent too much time on it but I will :)

It's my pleasure
Good to learn basic .thanks 😊

Merci beaucoup Amy 🥰
I have tried a couple of these apps but none of them explains the whys and wherefores as clearly as you do.
Thank you
Does Lingo Pie have only Français series or does it have series from Quebec? As being an Anglo Quebecer it's always a struggle to find French learning content that's relevant to where I'm from.
Yes, there are some from Canada but it's mostly France.
What of tv5 monde app apprend Francis
What about LingQ? What do u think bout it
I have never tried it but I will :)
Thank you
Merci❤
The best App is Elsa. It’s complete.
Merci beaucoup 🌹🌹
Très bien !
Je vous remercie pour vos efforts.
Pas de quoi :)
I would like to try out fluent U thank you for the link Madam Dylane
My pleasure :) Let me know if you like it :)
trés bien video
Merci :)
What about the Rocket French course?
I have never tried it unfortunately
Merci!
Vous êtes très belle et agréable.
Do you have a recommendation for which app(s) may be best for someone at the b1/b2 level. Merci.
Anne for this level it's more about immersion than rules. I would recommend Lingopie if you like TV, or Beelinguapp for reading :)
@@TheperfectfrenchwithDylane Thank you. Also I love your videos and found your book on Subjunctive very helpful. Merci beaucoup.
Merci beaucoup
De rien :)
Honnêtement bien que je apprenne Français je n’utilise jamais une app l’apprendre parce que quand je veux pratiquer mon français, je préfère simplement parler avec les français eux-memes dans les serveurs de discord par exemple où tu peux simplement rejoindre un serveur et apprendre du début mais peut être j’obtiendrai une app à l’avenir
Merci professure pour l’aider
C'est une bonne idée pour Discord :)
C'est plus facile d'apprendre quand on a une si jolie prof :)
Madame explain the exam model papers A1 exam
I don't do exam prep here :/

Overall "better" one?
Babbel if you are a beginner, Lingopie to diversify if you are A2 and more :)
Good luck
No Lingq???
I had to choose 10 :)
Merci madame, beaucoup de ces applications ne sont pas gratuites, je suis un étudiant sans beaucoup d' argent😅 de toute façon merci beaucoup
Duolingo is free :)
The fact that an app is “Free” or Paid shouldn’t be a Pro or Con to determine the best app.
You have something with my opinion on free or paid app don't you?
I have to need the names of some apps for learning free French language courses with free certifications , please helps me.
No free apps will give you certificates unfortunately.
Duolingo : Vous croyez votre prononciation est correct? Tres amusant! 🤣
Maintenant je me sens mieux!
Je pense oui :D
