  • Hello friends we are back with yet another celebrative traditional karaoke / Instrumental song, द्य यात सिन्या स्वाँ / Dyaḥ yāta Sinhā swā.
Similar to our previous karaoke session, in the process we came to know that this is another simply amazing Newā Bhasa song in the newar community. In addition this song brought us closer to our family members, friends, and loved ones while trying to sing, learn to play, and translate the exact meaning of the song.
    Our previous Karaoke Session:
    • RAJAMATI KUMATI NEWARI...
Although this romantic song is very popular within the newar community, again we are deprived from the lyricist, singer, and the name of the composer. Neither internationally famous Kutumba Archives nor the channel which published the official video of this song mention its publishing date and record label.

However a UA-cam channel named Hari Sharan Sayami in a cover version of this song describes lyricist and singer as Bhriguram Shrestha and composed / arranged by Hari Bahadur Ranjit.
    • Dyo Yata Sinhay Swan
But without evidence and prime documentations, we can’t really make a conclusion. If you know, then do comment below.

    Song Translation:
    Nepali:
    देवतालाई सिनाय् को फूल,
    स्त्रीलाई रातो रङ्गको फूल अनि
    श्रीमान् लाई गुणकेशरीको फूल;
    हाय् रे सिरिमाया दिदी,
    भेट्ने ठाउँ त बगैँचाको पछाडि रे ।
    जवान दाजुले ल्याउँछन् दहीको कतारो,
    तरूणी दिदीले ल्याउँछिन् चिउराको डालो
    अनि लमि दिदीले चाहिँ पान र सुपारी ।
    देवतालाई भुटेको चिउरा,
    स्त्रीलाई कुटेको चिउरा
    अनि श्रीमान् लाई टिकिन चिउरा रे ।
    एउटा फूल लिएदेखि,
    झ्याल मुनिबाट आएदेखि
    मोहनी मैं परेँ म त है ।।
    English:
The Sinhā flower to the god,
    Red flower to beautiful woman,
Gunakeshari flowers to a handsome man,
    Hello Sirimaya Didi,
The meeting place is behind the garden.
The younger brother brings a row of yogurt,
The young sister brings a basket of beaten rice
And Lami didi sweets and betel nut.
Fried beaten rice to the deity,
Steam beaten rice to the beautiful girl
And to handsome men, long grain beaten rice.
    Since taking a flower,
Since showing yourself in the window,
    Your magic worked on me.
