    I cannot believe postage is going up again, I can’t even login through the app, my packages are getting shipped to Vic, SA, back to Vic and then to New South Wales where it was originally going. The whole board of Australia Post needs sacking.

    I reckon it’s good to have a variety and learn different categories, if you sell a couple of pop vinyls, you can buy a couple of pop finals and just keep one tub of pops.

    I’m a small eBay seller 40-50 a month. Auspost prices are killing it for the buyer and taking their cut from the seller. I’m investigating other postage options. Auspost satchels are easy but $$$

    The July 1st price increase in postage is ridiculous, it's only just gone up recently 😢
    Combine this with harder to find or higher priced items in the thrift shops is making it incredibly difficult to turn a profit.

    List the Lego set & say it's incomplete in the title & make sure to take plenty of photos. Your price range sounds fair.

  • @bricksbyjoel
    @bricksbyjoel 9 днів тому +1

    Pricing Lego when you are guessing on the completeness can be a challenge. I am a fulltime Lego parts seller and only dabble a little in sets, because of the challenges of meeting buyer expectations.
    Minifigures can be the biggest issue, depending on the set and availability some can be expensive to replace and sometimes may need to come from multiple sellers. In this case Ross and Phoebe can be purchased for about $17 including postage from a store on the website BrickLink.
    If I had made this purchase this is a set I would put a little time into confirming the parts and trying to make complete. Mostly because it is the business I am in, and taking a quick look at the parts overall, there is nothing to wildly expensive in this set that would see me needing to spend more then maybe $30-$40 to get it complete. I of course do also have the option to sell the parts individually, which is what I do with 90% of used sets I get, just because the resale price is not there especially on low end sets and unless the resale price is going to be over about $150 it probably is not worth the time to inventory.
    From the position you are in I think $250 is a fair place to start. Incomplete sets do sell and can fetch good money, a friend that is also a Lego seller has proved it before and I have also got some really good sale prices on a few vintage sets at times as well, even though they are missing a couple of pieces.

      @TheAussieFlipper  8 днів тому

      Really do appreciate the time to go through this mate nice to know I'm in a good spot at $250 - confident it will sell well!

    • @Unit68
      @Unit68 7 днів тому

      Out of interest, are multiple 1000s of individual Lego bricks worth anything to buyers? I've inherited many, many boxes of them.

    • @bricksbyjoel
      @bricksbyjoel 6 днів тому +1

      @@Unit68 Most Lego as long as it is genuine, will have value to buyers. However, that can also depend how much time you want to put into it.
      If you just have mixed boxes of parts, you can potentially be looking around $15-$20 per kilogram in Australia. This will depend on condition and whether there are minifigures in there. If it had a lot from a theme like Star Wars you might even be able to go a little higher.
      If you want to maximise your return or if it is already sorted into sets, you can potentially do better, but that will also depend just how much time you need to put into sorting it, if you need to buy extra parts to make the set complete and if you really have the time and desire to do this.

    This is a bit random to point out but it was a huge leap for your channel imo.
    I like how you were out and about sourcing and it cut to courney filming by herself updating the Thomas listing, then back to yourself.
    Its more to the point and is great cutting to and from.
    Hope that makes sense.

    Some great sales especially on the jeans, I’ve never heard of them. Nice pick up on the Friends Lego, I was shocked when they allowed you out the back. I think postage costs are going to be a huge issue for sellers going forward, especially even some of the sellers comments here are having issues. I like the thrifting videos, thanks Matt.

    • @zovocs

    Postage going up is unbelievable to me when it was raised not that long ago. Getting harder and harder for small businesses that don't post enough parcels to hold band discounts.
    Super frustrating. Aust post had an item of mine going from WA to Melb then sent back to WA, still didn't arrive back to me. I refunded buyer in full. 3 weeks later it finally arrives in Melbourne. Sigh.
    Buyer offered me money when it arrived but I said gift for the hassle and pay it forward to someone one day. Grrr Australia post and their monopoly on postage essentially.

    Tracking for about a $5.5-6k month @ approx 50% margin. Going well!

    9 days ago, there was a Lego Friends 10292 set that sold for about $250 complete on auction. There's one that has been listed 3 days ago that has a couple of watches and is selling for $315 complete. I could sell for $275 incomplete however Lego value has been decreasing. If you sell at $275, definitely do best offer. Otherwise $250 is fine but don't do best offers.
