I enjoy listening to you so much. I feel relaxed hearing your voice. Your gentleness comes through. What I feel confused about is the paradox of asking me to do and telling me I am not a doer. You may have a calmer peaceful life. I can’t make myself accept what is if in this moment I feel fear or anger. It’s the dilemma of listening to a teacher and yet knowing he/she is not a doer. dear Patricia.........if I may put in my two cents, as I have been researching the topic of Advaita (non-duality) for years. As the term 'non-duality' suggests, there is only THE ONE (God, Being, Brahman, Universe, take your pick) and each of us are avatars of this supreme Being on this earth. So although we believe (through our ego - see below) we are separate individuals, doing our own things, it really is the One (as we are the ONe at the source) doing everything. The ONe breathes us, makes our hair grow, heart beat, but yes we have 'agency' to do things in this world, but we mistakenly think that this agency arises out of me the separate one doing it, achieving it etc. So I am Being but I forget that and think I am a person (mind-body-soul complex), and it is the mind/ego that thinks thoughts ("He should not have done that to me"). Those thoughts then result in feelings of fear, anger etc.........but it is upto me to RE-MIND myself that I am Being, not the ego. That distancing from the ego is returning to peace, just observing the ego get excited (either positively or negatively). Another master in the Advaitic tradition is Rupert Spira and his youtube video on Nothing can make you happy is very useful God bless you!
It often feels like I’m talking to Ramana Maharshi or looking into his eyes when I come into contact with people in day to day life. It’s like I see him in everything and everyone. I used to think he was spying on me to see if I was being pure but now I feel it’s his presence which is love.
