Just seen this. It is lovely and reminded us of our first 4000m unguided peak in July 1983. My wife and I took our van to the area like you. It truly brought back beautiful memories.
Yay, the book made it to you in one piece. Hope you’re enjoying it so far. I can’t think of a better place to read it than surrounded by those mountains. I’ve been really enjoying watching yours and Harvey’s adventures lately - they are what living should be. 🤗
I had an amazing experience on gran paradiso summer 2017 and the combination of music and visual really brought lots of fantastic memories and emotions back. THANK YOU!
Wow i wouldn’t have even thought watching your trekkings around the uk , that you’ve done such heights . And it seemed you did it with ease . Really good .
What time is it, Harvey? That monster watch should answer you by its self! LOL! Another fantastically beautiful video! Thank you so much for this! It reminds me of my Colorado days. I love those Glacier Goggles! Looking back, I should have hung out on top longer. Why did I have to hurry back down? I hope you have had some instruction in 'self-rescue' taking off ahead of everybody like you do but that's the only way to go. Beat the crowds and have it all to yourself. Remember, crampons and ropes don't mix, especially when you're tired. Poor Harvey, post-holing everywhere. Thanks again for your time and effort. I had to watch it twice. Good Luck in your travels!
Well done, that looks amazing! I'm a long way off being able to climb that height, but I'd love to learn. Well done on the very smooth transitions and nice synchronisation with the music in this video too! 😍
A video on outdoor food, i.e. high carbs, practical (does not go off), compact and light including suggestions for choice of food stuffs would be a good idea.
Hi Athena. I've just found ur videos. They're superb. I find them very inspiring. I'm sat in my campervan in Snowdonia as I type this. This Alpine trip of yours has made me realise I must get to the Alps asap. Though I couldn't do a 13 hr day atm 😏
Another gorgeous video Athena. Love your spirit & smile. Seeing Harvey posthole reminded me of several hikes I have done with my boyfriend in the snow.... there are some funny pictures of me thigh deep lol. The scenery was breathtaking! Definitely on my places to hike. I used to hike the German and Austrian Alps with my parents as a child but don’t remember much.... just that I loved it :)
Hey great video, loved the scenery and the music. I’m a bit like you in that I’m still working on how I manage exposure in my head at the moment as it can cause a bit of a wobble/leg freeze which is annoying although that is just in the Scottish mountains so god knows what I’ll be like when I get into the Alps! Hoping to do Mont Blanc and Gran Paradiso in a couple of years. Need to build up my fitness and height exposure resilience between now and then though!
Great video! I'm trying to get into mountaineering as well but don't really know where to start. I've hiked a lot in alpine conditions but don't really have any experience traveling on snow or with a rope. Any ideas on how to get started on all of that? :)
Amazing video, I love all your videos and I'd like to know more about the gear you use, because especially for alpinism, sometimes I'm a bit confused about layers... Thank you very much to share this! Alice
How did you get on with Mountains Of The Mind? I found it quite hard work and still haven't finished it, although did start to get more in to it, camping in snowdonia...
I felt like I was on the top too :) great video! Which are the models of the shoes you used? And did I get it right that you used the same shoes from the parking lot to the top?
great vlog......i recently found your channel through Gareth danks, i am also a landscape photographer and UA-camr that's addicted to the peaks. really enjoy your videos well done for smashing this one Mount blanc next lol
Thanks for making this awesome video! I have a few questions, as I too would like to make this trek. 1. Is this a possible solo trip? 2. With all the gear you brought, did you feel like you over or under packed? 3. What are the most important items to make the trek? 4. Is it possible to do in one day if you start from the base as midnight? Thanks so much for you time! Chase
1. It’s always possible wherever you are, it only depends if you need some experienced partner . 4. Of course it’s also possible if you are in beast mode 😏
Not sure I saw correctly, but you probably made a mistake ! Before to eat Italian salame (or salami) remember to peel it off😁, usually the outside skin is not edible. Beautiful video and nice music too.
Another video from the girl with the perpetually cold nose. The Blue girly watch isn't as impressive as Harvey's Giant NASA inspired one with the function to tell you the quickest way to the pasta shop. Lovely video, keep um coming. Oh, and don't forget. Whilst the climb was an impressive achievement for you, someone else had to carry they huge Silver building up there for you. :).
It is one of the easiest 4000m peaks you can "climb" (as you say, there isn't really any climbing), therefore it was all about getting the experience of travelling that distance, being at altitude, and of course for the views! This was recommended by mountain guides I worked with earlier in the week as being a great route for a beginner, whether 4000m or not :)
@@RambleFamily Hey mate, I edited the comment, I mean, I was thinking about this thing today and in the end, I think it's just an unnecessary hateful comment. It's a nice video and my clarification was not necessary.

Lovely! Perfect Sunday morning viewing. Inspired to walk up the hill to the shops for bread now.

Aching to be in the Alps.
