A lot of the decisions she made was about what SHE wanted and not about THEM and Matt went along because he didn’t want to lose her. He was losing his voice and his choices in their relationship. I’m glad he finally realized what was going on wasn’t healthy.

I’m very late to just start watching Chicago fire and it’s been an emotional roller coaster that’s for sure. I love these two together… my hope is when they slept together for that last time after the charity was that he got her pregnant but of course that storyline seems to be done just a hope.

They could have written off her character without destroying the whole story..and it's not necessary to put everyone on 51 in a relationship, it's like they're trying everyone on each other and see whose pair-up has the best chemistry. With that, it's not necessary for Casey to be paired with anyone just because Gabby left and Dawsey broke up. They could have just preserved that beautiful relationship as it is without too much drama,.
Also you don’t need to be dating someone all the time it’s ok to be single, also they have med and pd like you really had to put brettsey together given all the history. it’s just weird!
Don't forget that this is a TV series, and their main task is to entertain the audience. In such a drama it's simply impossible without a bunch of romantic relationships)

There's nothing wrong with trying to incorporate romance into the series. It's just kinda weird to 'force' the characters to try to pickup someone in their workplace, esp their shift. Ex. Sylvie is actually a good character, but they've written her like some romantic fool who can't stay single and wanma hook-up with anyone available. First, Cruz, now Casey. I'm sure there are other firemen on firehouse 51 not just their shift, if they're itching to pair her with someone fr 51.

She’s a wonderful actress but the character of Dawson was gross, shellfish and created miserable drama. She was always wrong for Casey and it made sense that she left him the way they wrote it. It’s lovely how they patiently developed Matt and Sylvie’s friendship and love for one another. They were both abandoned and wrecked by Gabby and they comforted and cared for one another through it. Brett and Casey are indeed right for each other (of course because they are written to be) and it’s lovely to see characters of good character being portrayed on television. It’s a rare thing anymore.

I always felt like their relationship was forced because the actors had chemistry with one another but as far as their characters were written, they never worked. Casey’s character said as much to Brett when he told her he hadn’t loved Gabby in a long time but that they would always care for one another. I’m still scratching my head over how many people are still so loyal to Gabby’s character when she was so disloyal to Matt and even sometimes cruel. The actress chose to pursue other things so the writers took things in a different and wonderful direction with Brett. I know I’m enjoying it🙂
