  • This was my #3 and #4 truck tow. I actually did my first two back in early September but my GoPro failed to record. This time I failed to put the camera on the glider… but my wonderful pilot friend took videos and pictures of my truck tow.
It may not give you the flight experience like the other videos but I hope you still enjoy.
Next time I’ll take everyone with me to fly, I promise!
Thank you for all your support and helping me grow my channel. More people I can inspire the better.

You might be the only UA-camr chronicling her HG learning journey. Lots of experts showing off, but you’re the one I watch to see the learning process. Thanks for posting.

I appreciate you for saying that. We all want to show our achievement, I do too. But to keep this sport alive and for people to do it safely, having a realistic expectation and planning are all so important. Some people just imagine they get to fly off the mountain after a few class is not the way it goes. If you can’t commit to the process it requires, you are out. But if you can commit, you might get to experience what it’s like to fly like a bird.

Oh it’s really not bad. Especially with truck tow happen on the midday. I’d say it was a lot harder with beginners scooter tow class in December at 8a🥶

Excellent flair on that landing!!! Awesome!!! It’s easy to second guess when to punch out the control bar. Of course when you do you bring it back in, then try and punch it out and than of course you stall and the nose falls. You committed!!! You are really advancing in your flying skills. Your instructors are doing a really great job!
You looked way more relaxed in this vid. You were prone. That makes controlling the glider much easier. Look forward to your next video! Sky out!!

Thank you so much🙏 yes I think the biggest improvement was that I flew comfortably. So on my very first truck tow in September, I cross controlled like crazy not being used to the knee hanger harness I’m renting. This time I got to fix that so felt more confident in my flight. After all I’ve only flown in calm air conditions. My next challenge will be to fly in all the different air textures. I can’t wait to get back in the air!!!!! Again thank you for your kind and supportive comment. Comment/feedback like your’s pump up my motivation to the next level🤩

@@nanoraflyz I loved hang gliding stories…still do. “Spec Out”…maybe you know that terminology. To watch a pilot get so high he turns into a spec against the sky then he/she gets so high they disappear. I saw a friend one day spec out. It was so awesome!! One day I launched at 3500’ and climbed to 10,000’. I could see the hundreds of miles of the Sierra Nevadas. Some time later when I landed my best buddy said, I saw you launch, It wasn’t long until you were just a spec, then you specked out. I did it! I was so happy…and cold too! That was a day I will never forget!!
      Your day is coming!

Wow nice truck tow.. take off was dramatic.. nice climb rate. Conditions looked nice..I envy you, never done a tow flight, always from hill/mountain.

I know it looks so different and exciting right? Totally different from hill/mountain, although if I had a choice, I’d love to fly more mountain sites. And beach flying seems so nice too. So much to look forward to being in this sport. Can’t and shouldn’t complain ever… but I’m like, c’mon weather!!!!!😩

That looks kinda scary, but I would do it. I've done about 30 aerotows. Maybe more. Only 2 mountain launches at Andy Jackson from Marshall Peak. You are a brave gal. So good to see you are doing well. Great landing. I hope your channel grows to where you can go fly all over the world.

Thank you Garry🙏 I’ve only done scooter tow, truck tow and one mountain flight. If you’ve done so many aerotows truck tow should feel easy for you, not as speedy during the tow. Thank you for your supportive comment! I hope to go fly all the different sites in the world!!! My dream only expands with this sport💗

At 2:43, you say you could do smooth sledders over and over again... Super easy and convenient to do from Steve's truck where you launch and land from the same spot and no need to break down and set up the glider between every flight. Doing multiple sledders from a mountain is a real pain in comparison; you're super lucky to be so close to a truck tow operation.

    • @nanoraflyz
      @nanoraflyz  Рік тому +1

Hi Romano! You’re right. Steve makes it so much easier. I imagine this is the most luxurious way of flying as far as efficiency is concerned. Im thinking.. I maybe spoiled learning at Blue Sky…. Steve is such an amazing instructor, he takes care of and maintains everything so nicely and thoroughly and regular pilots are all so friendly and supportive. I don’t think I’m ever gonna really “fledge” from Blue Sky.

Aaaahhhh there you are my sista😚 Thank you so much🥰 Your presence, friendship during my hang gliding journey has been huge. If I never met you I’m pretty sure Im not the same pilot I am today: Im proud of myself and like how my growth process has been. Every time I think about how to, what to in hang gliding, I think about you, “what would Mie do, or say”. You’ve been my inner guiding voice. Thank you for being there, and please stay in my life forever.

@@nanoraflyz The take off from the back of truck amazed us. You have 'ahem' of steel. We are always excited when a new video comes out. They are a good length and well put together. I'd love to know more about the wing. Are you on a training wing? How high and far can you expect to go? Just check that you are always clipped in properly please. 👌👌

@@DumfriesDik hi Richard! I’m still on a training glider, it’s WillsWing’s Alpha 180. With truck tow normal releases height is around 1000ft.
I’ve only done four tows and asked to stay above flight park’s proximity. Once I get more tow experiences I can venture out a little outside of the park I believe. In soar-able days some pilots fly above 5000ft even. I’m looking forward to that cloudbase flying experience.
