Warriors fan here. Klay is a slow starter even during his prime. In the month of October his 3 pt avg is 34.6% Don't panic Mav fans if he starts slowly he will shoot lights out to reach his average 40+%

Lively looks so much smoother out there, so much more comfortable. That playoff run must've did wonders for him!! Grimes looks like a much more polished Josh Green. Naji can run some offense and that dime he dropped to Lively was pretty sweet. And Klay can make them 3s look so easy. Omax took grown man steps this year. His shot looks cleaner, and that dunk was sick with an And 1!! Hardy's 3pt shot looks SOOOOOOO much better. Feel like he had the Celtics on his mind this offseason and was like "if the Mavs need someone to make 3s, I'm gonna be one of those guys they can count on". But yeah, it's gonna be up to Kidd to make a Finals team out of this group. Nico did a masterful job shopping the groceries so let's see how Kidd starts cooking.
Klay got hot for just a few minutes, a few timely stops and we piled on a 12-0 run in the blink of an eye. Tends to happen in basketball but it’s only the preseason but he also hasn’t even played a single second with Luka yet. If all three of Luka/Klay/Kyrie get hot at once how do you stop that? All three are great at passing/lobbing to rolling big men and we got 48 minutes of that. Plus the lineup of Luka/Kyrie with Grimes, Klay, PJ, and Lively/Gafford looked super promising. Really good balance of scoring, playmaking, defense, size, and rim protection. Or at least the most balanced lineup you could be running with your main stars being Luka and Kyrie. Lots to be excited about.
Across the board the effort on defense was terrific. The patience developing Hardy and OMax looks to be paying off. Kyrie's play was immaculate. I have no concerns with Klay, It may take some time for him to find his pace and groove in a new system, but I firmly believe that post all-star week, he will be a seamless cog in the system and providing the offensive punch we've needed. And, of course, can't forget Dana who's insight and cheerfulness always puts a smile on my face. Glreat end to the preseason
Here is my impressions of pre season. 1) Lively has immensely improved his post game offensively. 2) Omax is starting to develop nicely 3) Grimes had 1 good game and 3 really bad games offensively. 4) Klay just needs to get in Rhythm and he is fine. 5) Spencer is completely Washed and has no business playing over Hardy 6) Gortman has earned the last 2 way contract 7) Naji is a good Wing who can push PJ to improve, and can also facilitate. 8) Outside the Turnovers Hardy has really taken that next step to be the backup guard to Kyrie.
It was a nice preseason game. Klay and Dana can do no wrong. We could see today how deep Dallas is. We are really looking forward to this season🦝🦝🦝 Dana and Nick are always in playoff form. Amazing positive energy for the game, the team and Dallas.
This team is going to be extremely special this year... dynasty in the making in my opinion. The rust and kinks will smooth out and then this team will be deadly! The NBA is not ready!
Dinwiddie is at his best when he is an aggressive scorer, who then playmakes off that. Right now he's trying to be a facilitator first, scorer second. I think he's smart enought & has proven adaptability, but it will still take time for him to get use to this new roster. Being able to playmake for others & score at will is the hardest skill to have in the NBA.
No doubt our three 2 way contract players need to be Gortman, Sharp, and Edwards... Edward's is a for sure even without playing in the preseason just due to his size and position flexibility and NBA Experience. Gortman by Far was the most impressive player to me in the whole Preseason. Sharp is raw but super talented and with some development and 20-30lbs added to his frame could be a rim protecting stud amd Defensive Force. Could potentially be our Wemby Stopper here in a few years. You can't teach size and height. He is Naturally Gifted and has great defensive instincts and awareness and timing. Led the Nation in Blocks back to back years at Western Kentucky. Averaged Damn near 4blks/game in College between WKU and Ole Miss combined.
I see sharp as a potential long term replacement for Gaff bc he will get paid by another team at some point. Same way I’m looking at omax being a Maxie replacement

Dana the Dallas Goddess Larson! 😍🌟✨️ Can't say enough about her brilliance. I've had a crush on her since way back in high school. Best Dallas reporter of all time. Super happy for her career and glad she healed after covid. And Dana is so perceptive, profound, unbiased and spot-on with her assessments and insights. She is the one media member who has been right on about Spencer Dinwiddie: he keeps wanting to adjust and be malleable to whatever a new team needs, you hear that in interviews and see that in his play wherever he's been. Remember when Luka went down in 2023 at PHX and Dinwiddie suddenly morphed into Luka 36 pts 10 assists, clutch shots, and another 35 pointer next game? He's very dynamic and when he's off--it's more so him relegated to a corner baseline catch and shoot guy or just passing the ball. And as Larson said, hence you see the inconsistency and not a defined identity on the court. Spencer just needs to be aggressive and get after it especially on offense. Be aggressive getting to the cup, the side stepthrees, driving and dishing. Just be assertive. Dana Larson is beyond brilliant and unbiased. LISTEN TO DANA.

My faith in the Mavs goes beyond what a single player not called Luka or Kyrie can do. The ceiling on this team is quite high
